Hi everyone. The name is Lumberheartwood, aka KingofSecrets. I'm not new to this community. I'm just lazy. I got tired of seeing some good threads and many irritating, usually off-topic threads. So I decided that to give this community so much for giving me so much bliss from its great finds and news (by community, I mean the really intelligent looking threads and bloggers). I hope to be somewhat significant in this community because I love this franchise since its so original compared to most multi-player fighting games. I love making original good debating topics of myspace and my primary myspace group "Myspace Smash Bros. Dojo" because their community is full of cool, brazen, outspoken, good debating hardcore players. Many people who sign in for the group on there find the main talkers, including me, intimidating but its due to them liking "hard" Liberal humor. I try to make easy for everyone to have a good chat. Anyway, topics are always hard to keep on track since myspace IS full of demographics, from fans to players to the serious hardcore players. Unfortunately, its hard to find good people to talk to about Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Coming here, I hope to make a good blog soon, but threads are a nice beginning. I hope you read my threads, and hopefully, the moderators will come by and give me the ability to post a main blog and you guys can comment about my topics and respond. (Can I make a blog off the bat already because that would be appreciated news?) I love talking about Smash news and rumors, since I look for everything involving Brawl everyday and I will definitely try to respond to every response you send me. If you want to contact me, the name here is Lumberheartwood but my myspace profile name is: KingofSecrets. You can contact me on there anytime of the day cause I check it everyday. I hope you like me and hope I can make your day involving topics and the usual news of the day involving Brawl. Cheers!

*The First Topic:

So...first topic. I want to make every topic I post original but its usually hard but I do what I can to make it seem new and refreshing and very informative. Here I go: What are the "possible" choices you have from the Fire Emblem franchise, involved in Brawl?

Since Marth's and Roy's introduction as playable characters in Melee, the Fire Emblem series has incorporated many new things in Brawl, from official music to a stage to even a new playable character in Ike and an assist by the name of Lyndis (Lyn in short).

The debate I want to start here is who deserves to be in Brawl. What deserves to be in Brawl. Possible items, righteous characters in the official roster, and who should be an assist instead of being playable. Characters from the 2007 Wii game? Characters who are not sword-users? Characters who are in the same dimension as Ike and Marth, since Lyn is an assist maybe due to the fact she appeared 20 years before Roy existed in his game?

*I'll go first to give you guys an idea:

-My choices for playables they haven't announced are Eirika or Eliwood (their relevance in the handheld FE games), Marth (to promote FE11), and Micaiah (just to promote FE10). I chose these characters in particular since they are played mainly in their games and they are "bankable." They are also known around the world now and they are especially significant in their role, whether from gender to history to how their moveset can be incorporated into the world of Smash Bros. Brawl. The internet is a free community when it comes to free speech so voice your thoughts and opinions. Tell me this or that and why and we'll finally have a good thread to go to.

-A choice I hear to also be playable is "Black Knight" but I'm not into Fire Emblem history. I know he's a villian who has potent force in offense and defense. I agree with you people and I disagree too. Tell me why or why not he should be in Brawl?

-My choices for assists can be: Alm or Celica from FE2, Ephraim, Hector, Elincia, and Sothe since they play major roles in the FE games but are not as "important" in the game's movements or history as the ones I've chosen for playable. I chose these based on that they seem like a chance as playable but by how they are used in their game's developments, I had possible thoughts so the best way was to include them as assists.

-My choices for trophies are: Sheeda, (due to their popularity, I'll also include Sigurd and Celice from FE4), Ellis, and some of the main villians. These seem right to be known in Brawl but that's all. Just information worthy.

-My choices for games in this franchise that should NOT put things in Brawl are: likely FE2, definitely FE4 and FE5, and probably FE6. These titles are Japanese-only known titles and due to Melee, the game has been released worldwide, so its safe to assume that anything after FE7 can be included in Brawl. I did not include FE1 and FE3 since they include Marth, who will be recast into FE11.

*Thanks for reading everybody. I know I can make a harangue (it means a terribly boring speech) out of everything that comes into mind but I want to make Brawl so cool to everyone from casual players to the "secret backdoor members". I can't make a webcast, or be proficient in handling audio equipment, but I have the heart and literacy to make a really decent debonair of a blog. So thanks again. You know how to contact me and know I'll try to respond to the comments being made and try posting as many "strong, good" topics as I can in the Smash community. When it comes to Brawl news, rumors, and ideas, I'll be the first one you guys should look at first. ;) See you soon.

PS: I would have posted my topics a long time ago but I gave up when everything I typed got deleted when this page refreshed when I accidentally typed the delete button and it would go back. It was so depressing but not this time. I made sure I typed everything up this time on my word processing program and copying it on here. There won't be no more depression this time around for me and you guys and girls will have decent things to read and reply to. Later!

Actually, as far as I've researched, Sigurd has good chances of making it to Brawl as either a PC or AT.

His game, Fire Emblem 4: Genealogy of the Holy War (can't recall the Japanese name), is one of the most popular FE's over in Japan, and it's generally considered the best in the series. Sigurd himself was mentioned twice on Sakurai's Poll, which isn't extraordinary, but it makes the character known to Sakurai and his dev team.
Moveset-wise, Sigurd might just seem like another blue-haired swordsman, but he also has the capability to use lances, and has a mount later on. In particular, they could mix up his moveset with fast, weak sword swipes and longer-range, powerful lance attacks, and they could give him a special move somewhat similar to Wario's Motorcycle with his horse.

I believe that Sigurd has about equal chances as Micaiah to get in as a PC, or at least an AT. That's just my own bias, though, and Sakurai did seem reluctant to add a lot of Japan-only characters - but if he never adds them, then we'll never know of them.

the BK should be in as a stamina boss in SSE, being a playable character isn't really fitting for him.

That's interesting. Thanks for talking. I see now. Well, I didn't know much about Sigurd but I did see his name in the Sakurai Smash Polls. I guess if he was recognized on the final list, I see he has a chance of somehow being part of Brawl history.

The question is, do you know where you are? HMMM?
Uh, well, I only have played FE 9 and 10....

So when I looked at the character poll, the only names from FE that stood out were Ike, Soren, Mia, and the Black Knight. Soren and Mia are least likely, as neither are lords in the game, and it seems that only lords will be chosen as they are the main characters...I don't think FE will get enough representation to put in sidekick-like characters, as they could for Mario. Which is a shame.

Black Knight is different, as he is recurring antagonist, but it's still odd how they will make a character slower than Ike already. So it could go either way in my eyes.

I don't know really who Sigurd is, but he seems likely... I guess?

I would like Marth and Roy to return, but Marth is more likely to stay as for oft-stated reasons that he's the main lord and going to be in FE11. Roy, although being the first FE on a portable, is probably going to be looked over for interest in other characters to appear.

If I have my way (which I won't) there would be six reps from FE. Just because capes, swords, and cloaks are awesome.

As for items... I guess it would be interesting to use those cards in FE 9/10 like the reaper card, that gives a magical attack to non-magic users...

yeah, black night is waaaay to beastly in FE: path of radiance AND radiant dawn to be a playable character because íf he wasnt even close to as strong as he is in FE games, it would be a huge injustice, but at the same time i can't help but wonder if they could pull it off, but he'd have such a hard time jumping, like even more than Bowser because he has human legs with added armor. Bowser can handle his own weight because he lives with it, but BK dawns armor that is unconventional for any sort of air fighting or recovery.

I also have a question: what other FE games was miciah in besides radiant dawn? because i don't see how she could be playable from her performance in that game, that's why i'm assuming she's in another

Marth support thread

Marth pretty much wins. But if FE gets a third rep (which is actually pretty likely) then it'll be really hard to figure out who should get in as a PC. For any of you guys who want to learn more about FE in general, welcome to FESS

^She's only in Radiant Dawn.

inb4ChronoBound

As someone who has not touched a FE game but has steeped himself in Fire Emblem lore, I'd have to say that three reps seems likely... but outside Ike and Marth, who they are would be a massive toss up, largely because FE's cast list is HUEG and second only to Pokemon, and who's popular and who's not varies wildly by region and even by how hardcore a FE fan you are. Micaiah's got large support for casual FE players and those looking to balance things in Brawl but gets lol'd at by the hardcore FE fans. Sigurd likewise has support from the hardcore FE fanbase... IN AMERICA. His popularity in Japan is unknown.

As far as FE assists and stages go, I don't find myself caring for stages that much, but I'd like more assist trophies, maybe for Mia (who's popular everywhere but isn't a lord)...

Honestly the only Fire Emblem I ever played was the first one released in the states with Lyn so I can't really comment on who else would appear. But my prediction would be that Ike and Marth would be the only playable characters with Lyn and maybe one other person being a second assist trophy, that being Sigurd considering his apparent popularity but maybe not even that. Also I never played the gamecube and wii FE's but I wouldn't be surprised in seeing this Black Knight being a boss in SSE.

Characters
Honestly I don't think Fire Emblem's popular enough to warrant more than two characters in Brawl. My big reason for only having two playable characters is because Lyn became an assist trophy. She had really good chances of being playable considering Sakurai's interest in more playable female characters, her Fire Emblem was the most popular in the states, and she was the most popular (and best in my opinion) lord in said game. And yet she only became an assist trophy.

Ike is enough to advertise the new one out for the Wii so I doubt this Micaiah (sp?) will also be playable. I kinda hoped Hector would end up being a playable character after hearing of Lyn's assist trophy status but after seeing how slow he is, he'll probably end up as a regular trophy.

Marth will definitely return with probably a tweaked moveset (seriously how many people used ->B for something other than recovery) and probably made a little faster and a little weaker to better define him from Ike and balance him compared to the other characters.

Assist
When it comes to assist trophies, are we even sure there will be another assist trophy? I've yet to really see more than one assist trophy representing one series other than maybe Mario. I would think Assist trophies would be used more for representing other series that don't have playable characters than things from series with characters. If there was a second assist trophy I would expect it to be Sigurd considering his popularity but I don't see the point of a second AS running around cutting everyone considering how many of those we seem to have now. And I remember seeing Ike's blue costume looking a lot like Sigurd (origionally I thought it looked like Marth but that was before i knew of Sigurd). My prediction is that Sigurd will probably end up as a regular trophy and/or sticker to kind of lessen the pain of his lack of playability.

Boss
It's hard to comment on Black Knight because, again, I never played the FE's he appeared in but I wouldn't be surprised in seeing him appear as a boss. We really don't need another slow, powerful FE character considering Ike seems to be the slowest character in the game so far. I don't even remember who was the main bad guy in the FE I played (seriously what number game was it?) but I don't know what other FE bad guy would end up being a boss? Then again there may be a twist in SSE and we could be fighting good guys as well.

One thing I'm curious about is what kind of item would appear in Brawl from the FE series. Thanks to the people who actually cared to read this suprisingly long post and hope it sparked some new ideas for you.

Edit: I suppose I totally forgot about Stages but honestly, I don't expect to see more than "Random Fire Emblem Castle Area". Kinda hard to come up with something different after having that. :chuckle:

I read it all. I thank you for reading mine so I read your's. I agree with Black Knight being a possible boss. I'm all for Fire Emblem girls being in Brawl. I love Lyn, even if her glory is short-lasted in Brawl. I'm hoping that Eirika shows though in some way. She seems so elegant and yet powerful. I'm not a personal fan of Micaiah in Brawl as playable to be honest, but I do think she will somehow make an appearance for she's a magic-user, which is different from swords and lords. Haha. That rhymed...
