I really admire how the first one looks.

wow this brings me back, been forever since I did "Sig's". They are decent, not sure what program you are using. I assume gimp or PS, but maybe try to keep the Images used in one to a little less of a cluttered look and maybe look into some of the different filters or effects you could apply to the background. hard part for me was always blending it all together.
