I beat Duel Destinies.
My thoughts on Case 5:
This was quite the finale, though I am unsure if they should have split the episode into two cases since they are connected with each other.

I did enjoy it, however. I like how you got to explore Athena's character more, who up until this point we didn't have too much of an idea about. I feel very sad that she was just sheltered from the outside world and that she didn't feel loved, even though she was. Same goes for Blackquill, who we didn't know too much about other than him being an inmate prosecutor.

I did like how Maya did play a role in that she inspired Phoenix to have the court case in the destroyed court room, but I wish she was there. Didn't she say at the end of Trials & Tribulations that she would train and help Phoenix at the same time? I can't help but question this and the fact that she was missing in action in Apollo Justice, where Phoenix was in dire need.

The coolest part of this case, and by far the best part of the game, was squaring off against Edgeworth again. However, I thought that he was a bit more... rude. I know that he is trying to find the truth, that is a major part of his character development and why he became such a great character, but I felt like he was trying to force his belief that Athena did it a little too much.

Unfortunately, I did spoil that Fulbright was the Phantom, but the cross-examination against him was pretty cool and I didn't expect him to rip off masks. His breakdown was also something pretty epic where he was ripping off masks and heads to find his real one... yet he is headless (or his head is just a shadow).
One nitpick I do have is that by convicting the Phantom, that would symbolize the end of the dark age of law is coming. While it did have an amazing finale, I wish that the Pursuit theme wasn't Keep Pressing On, but instead either a remix of or the original version of Cornered.
In Trials & Tribulations, it worked because not only was it a callback to the original game, but it symbolized Phoenix's growth as a character in a way. With an event as big as Phoenix's grand return and the ending to the dark age of law, I think Pursuit~Cornered should have played.


Overall, I thought that Duel Destinies was an amazing game. I did enjoy the cases and I do like Athena as a character, but I think that the Trilogy was better in terms of its cast, writing, and cases. Also, this is the easiest game in the franchise in my eyes.
I hope the next game gets released stateside because I would buy it in a heartbeat!

I agree that Palutena's trailer was both long and boring. I liked it at first, but it was pretty "meh" in the long scheme of things.

The best trailers in my eyes were the first trailer, Robin's trailer, Shulk's trailer, and Ryu's trailer.
