So this is an idea I had for a possible patch they could do for this game, and I'd possibly like to see some more support for it.
My idea is to include an option to switch whether you tap or hold the regular attack button to do either a jab attack or a flurry attack.
For some characters like Inkling, Banjo, Rosalina etc, they have both a basic jab combo and a flurry attack. If you tap the button rapidly it'll become a flurry attack, but you can do a basic jab if you press the attack button after like a half second of waiting, or you can just hold the attack button o do the jab combo automatically.
Speaking from my own personal experience, I feel like it would be more natural if it was the exact opposite, where tapping the button would do the jab combo, and holding it would trigger the flurry combo. I just think it would make certain characters play better, especially characters like Inkling and Robin who have limited ammo for their flurries.
I know this isn't optimal for everyone though, which is why I would recommend it as an 'Other Settings' option.
Thoughts?
