Smash Apprentice
Everyone is talking about their predictions for Dark Samus, Ridley, Waluigi, and Diddy Kong (oh, right, and Krystal. Because, you know, her game was excellent) But I think we're all forgetting the biggest point about Brawl that was showcased from the start!
With the nearly instant revelation of Solid Snake, it opens the door to whole hosts of third party characters to be able to enter the fray, and it also makes character predictions a completely insane and interesting experience. So I'd like to open the floor to predictions for third party characters, including possible movesets, taunts, and other things.
The one that I'd like to start with is pretty detailed, but it doesn't need to be.
I would like to see Ryu from Breath of Fire V (a.k.a. Dragon Quarter)
Character: Ryu
Symbol: The Regent Symbol that is the background of the Main Menu
Smash Attacks: Up A- An upward stab similar to Marth/Roy Forward A- X-Blade Down A- Low Side Slash
Special Moves: Standard B- Deathbringer: Ryu's beginning Lv3 tech in DQ, Ryu would invert his grip and ready the blade as you charged with the B Button. The longer you charged, the larger the explosion would be when he stabs into the ground and creates a shockwave in front of him.
Forward B- Blade Rush: I can't remember what the move was actually called in Dragon Quarter, but the general gist of it in that game was that the screen darkened and he appeared behind the enemy. They would take damage as if he had just run them through. So in Brawl it would be something like Fox's Forward B, although the range would be as long and it would be less of a teleportation and more of a fast sprint.
Up B- Vacuum Jump: Nina would appear a ways above Ryu and activate her Wings, drawing Ryu and any nearby enemies upward. Ryu would swing wildly while rising, while other enemies wouldn't be able to attack, only move out of the way and perhaps escape the Vortex. Therefore, it could be a useful attack and a recovery.
Down B- D-Dive: Ryu would take a relatively small amount of damage as he transforms into a Dragon by invoking the power of Odjn. Therefore, bringing birth to a second character!
Dragon Ryu
Condition: Every second Dragon Ryu would gain one Percent, and every attack it would rise by a fraction of the damage dealt, probably 3 or 4%
Smash Attacks: Forward A- Twister Down A- Dragon Roar (creates a small shockwave around Ryu that deals damage to enemies) Up A- Fire Blast (He crouches as his wings of Fire grow larger and deal a small burst of weak hits)
Special Attacks: Standard B- D-Charge: Take a few % points every second. The longer you charge, the more powerful your next few attacks will be. May also decrease damage from next few hits.
Forward B: D-Breath: Yep, I went there. A straight line, for shortly after hitting forward you could hit a different direction to curve the beam. Ryu breathes a stream of pure energy that can't smash enemies, although it does extreme damage. Ryu also takes a large amount of % for the longer he holds it, leaving him wide open to be attacked.
Up B: Dragon Flight- Ryu's wings burst into flame, carrying him up, increasing his % a moderate amount and dealing some damage to enemies in his wake.
Down B: Cooldown- Ryu is healed the % he gained when Diving, and then returns back to regular Ryu.
FINAL SMASH (for both)- Odjn Breath: Ryu grabs a Smash Ball and D-Dives if necessary, then flies to the end of the stage and unleashes a D-Breath that is likely to encompass everything. The shadow of Odjn appears behind him as he does this, and then he immediately cools down, unable to D-Dive for the rest of the battle. He gains exactly the amount that he had at the ending of Dragon Quarter (I think it was 180-something, but I can't remember)
So Yeah, I made that one up on the fly. Anyone else got some suggestions? The more obscure, the better (as long as they're interesting)
