I know I kind of already addressed this but I'm also really not looking forward to more uninspired sound commotion. The vibrational sound commotion hasn't been joyful and amazing since 64. Like when your punched or flamed. We need a comeback of strong rich sound commotions that existed in 64. More whacky, original and inspiring. I would love if Smash reused sound commotions from Super Mario, Earthbound, old Pokemon and Kirby. And put a modernized updated spin on them. I would even take Smash 64 sound commotion since It's SO refreshing and fun.
A more polished/less compressed version of Smash 64's sound design would be great.
Playing Smash Crusade with different sound packs, I find that Melee's sound design feels kinda weak, while Ultimate's feels too "crunchy."
Classic cartoon sound effects would go a long way in making Smash feel wackier and varied. And yeah, we NEED signature hitsounds from the source games too.
- Yet Another Grassy Starter Level Stage. I’d love to see more… unique biomes you know?
Pain. Suffering. Anguish, even.
It's just the same as the "too many sword users": a symptom of a wider cliché rather than something completely self-caused.
More studios really need to have other biomes appear in marketing.
That Smash will grow bigger than being only on Nintendo and including gaming characters. Eventually branching out towards other systems and fourth party characters.
Meh, as other gaming companies (and media companies in general) grow increasingly stingy or greedy with their IPs (like Nintendo), I wouldn't worry too much about that.

On a tangent to "too many sword users", I dread more protagonists in general.
I know I touched on it with Pokémon, Fire Emblem, and Xenoblade in the OP, but I think in general, protagonists are kinda doomed to always use "generic fisticuffs" and "generic knight sword" by virtue of simplicity.
I think I'd prefer more secondary characters from the existing source series instead of new series by that token...
