Extended Dimensional Cape, just a little thing Meta Knight could do to elongate his Down-B invincibility and stuff.

Also yeah, I got beat to it, but the player had one more vid against a Snake. It was kind of meh to watch, I'm hoping it was just the pressure or something. :/

Japan still playing Smash. Well, since the beast has been tame and they are kind of getting sick of SF4 AE. They must be going back to smash. Btw...how much would you pay to see Daigo, Kayopolice, and Tokido play Smash?
lol at going back to smash.

the japanese people who played smash never stopped.

and the japanese people who play SF will never start.

Daigo playing SF would be super lame to watch.

If I wanted to stare at kayopolice, Id just find some picture of flamewaveK or something, its not that big a deal. especially considering neither are really attractive as girls to begin with.

Tokido playing smash would be super legit tho. hes fun as hell to watch in every game he plays.

But is smash still big in Japan though. And watching Tokido play Smash would be legit.

Got some more games in at yesterday's fest. My controller's fixed now and I remembered some previous criticism, so it seemed a little easier this time.
These are in chronological order.

Zigsta (Bowser) v. SkyPirateCoud (Sonic)
1 2 3 4 5 6

Zigsta (Jigglypuff) v. SkyPirateCoud (Sonic)

Hey Zero, from what I saw on our matches

For Mario

Don't spin into Mario's Usmash. The Usmash really should beat it every time. If you do clank, now that I think about it, Mario could just up B and you'd always lose that battle and take 12% in the process; Don't spin into Usmash. If that means varying your recovery to do so, do it. Also, if Mario gets a Uair on you, spring out, because you're most likely going to be put in a very unfavorable position to fight the next aerial he throws out. You gotta hit and run and space Sonic's ranged moves really well.

For Luigi

I thought you were doing things right for the most part. Don't approach Luigi unless you have to. If you get a lead, sit with it. I don't have much to say, we were pretty even in that match.

Sonic dittos :troll:

IDK, I'm more frustrated at myself at those. I had a beautiful first stuck until you started bringing it back; I need to stop fishing for that kill and sit with that lead really. I also didn't tech Dthrow and it cost me the match. Also, I notice that I spotdodge for no reason sometimes...even if it's safe, it still takes time and I could been doing something else more productive like applying pressure to the opponent.

You overrate teching dthrow imo. Its not that great for sonic. Whenever I play another Sonic, they try to tech it and here is what happened. 60% of the time they tech it, I SDI their jab and regrab or fsmash or something, 35% of the time they DI down and miss the tech, giving me a free tech chase into something sexy and like 5% of the time I get grabbed or jabbed and I don't really care because I know it won't kill me.

Ok, but that missed tech way at the end did cost me the match since I had to recover and ended up getting bair'd. In any other case, I agree, it's not that big a deal.

The ditto doesn't come up often enough for me to know how to do it consistently. Especially since the way i learned was listening to the sounds, which rarely works at a crowded tournament. Last time I even practiced was at WHOBO back in spring. If you were going to try it imo, I think its only worth doing if you KNOW you have it down, or if you have a chance to score a kill or avoid a horrible situation (dthrown into a walkoff). Its pretty easy to DI up and avoid follow ups.

Even if ur taking hits, remember to always troll your opponent in every way you can.

Tell me how you do that AT @ 0:09, I wanna learn that for mindgames.

I can upload in sexier quality if you want next time. I'm pretty much just a spectator now anyway.

What I'm saying is, if you put the replay files on an SD card and email/IM/upload those files to me, I can record and upload for you in higher quality. Without the sound issues and choppy video.

I heard your smash scene in LA needed help getting stuff uploaded. I'd be happy to record replays for you guys if you need it.

I would like to know that myself. Napi a long time ago had done this on Smashville, a similar situation too, the opponent was shielding and on the edge of the platform, but I don't know how to recreate it on the fly.

Ok some sets from a tournament last weekend.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhkWOtJUk5g BSP :sonic: vs Li-D :falco:

I'm see that I'm fishing for Fsmash too much. I need to mix it up. And maybe use Dsmash for reading rolls since it'll hit behind me. I could run past, stop right out of ftilt range, etc. I've got options, I'll mix it up more to open them up for the KO

How do you edgeguard Falco? That's my biggest problem right now. I let him keep coming back to the stage for free, and that can't happen when Sonic already has enough KO problems as is.

I think I'm remembering I used to sit near the ledge, then run towards the center when they get close, since Falco players feel the need to phantasm to the center a lot.

What moves do we have aside from Fsmash (which I'd rather avoid since it's a rather large commitment, and it stales it if it doesn't KO) that will outright beat phantasm? My edgeguarding is my biggest problem in that MU right now IMO. If I can get kills to happen when I get him offstage, I think I'll have a much easier time. I'm open to any tricks you guys have to edgeguard him.

Also, what's the best way to DI the rapid jab? I think I've heard up, down, up, down, towards falco repeatedly, but I'm not sure.

There's more of me, but I'll link them later. I'm beat atm. I have anther tournament tomorrow so don't hesitate on those falco tips

I'll do my own comments on this later

Besides fsmash theres fair, upsmash and spindash if timed right.

Playing the edge game vs falco isnt hard since he only has 2ways of getting back on and they are pretty situational. For instance if falco is far away from the stage with no 2nd jump, most likely hes gonna use phantasm try to grab the ledge or try to reach for the stage. If so, just edgehog. If off the stage, and he has a 2nd jump, then depending on where your standing(if your far away from the ledge then fire falco). Just gotta predict then punish I guess.

I could be wrong tho.

And as for DI'ing falcos jab, maybe DI towards falco to get behind him? Well sometime I DI towards him but really I just DI up to do a fastfall uair.

What I usually do against Falco is space a Bair...
If I screw up the spacing a bit, at least it just clanks with the hitbox and we're back on square one, if not, he eats a free bair.

Holding side-B against Cheese until he quits.
Best option is to SDI behind him before the animation ends, grabbing, and throwing. It's safest, and the sonic vs falco matchup is mostly us trying to keep him in the air anyway.
However, SDI up to into FFUair is also a good option because you can follow that up with a grab/utiilt at low %s.

Or at high% it pushes him away to create some distance even tho distance isnt always a good thing vs falco.

You should never have distance between yourself and a falco after you're out of CG percentage. You have to play rushdown, and he can't deal with it well if you keep the pressure on. If he gets any distance, you get camped hard how Keitaro did to me at cot5 rofl. We literally have no way to approach safely if the falco plays it correctly. We have to take chances to get in, and messing up can make you eat a significant sum of damage.
