EDIT : Here's the new sig I'm making. It isn't done yet, and could use some critisism/suggestions to make it better.
I'm thinking of
-increasing contrast
-positioning samus around (maybe)
-giving it more of a balance
- adding "the iots" subtly overtop of "blowtoes"

Yeah I drew Samus. It's kinda rough from another picture of Samus that was rendered from metroid prime. It looks really close to some other concept art I found after I made it. >___>
I like the background though. =[
How do you think I can make the text better. Is it because it's kinda hard to see, or you just don't like the look?

i dont like the bg really,
but the render is sex
i just dont like the bg cuz it looks like you put a radial gradient and add a few filters
when you do the bg, make it so it flows with the render

the bg you made has no flow at all, so it really just looks like a nice render on top of a bg. if you fix the bg to flow with the render
in this case the flow should be going [ < -----]
it'll look better
and as for the text i didnt even see it until i looked again XD
but jesus that render is sex.

also depending on if you redo the bg and on how it turns out you may wanna take off the motion blur on samus (or it looks like whats on there if ya ask me, but it looks so sex >_>)

I'll try to make the bg flow more, but I want to keep the screen effect. I might run a few cracks down it to make it look broken. Again, this is only about 20 minutes of work, so I'm not close to finished.
I made the bg from scratch. It's mostly made out of just an ordinary brush and brightness adjustments. The horizontal lines were rendered, but that's it.

Do you have any suggestions how to make the bg flow more while still keeping it?

What if I cast Samus's shadow on it or something? i dunno. =/

Yeah, I know what you mean. I think I might give Samus the same effect that I gave the background, but not as blatantly obvious. I've brightened up the text a bunch, and i'm rendering lighting effects to the BG and Samus to make them seem less diverged.

I might do a bunch of background variations as well. It actually looked pretty sick with plain black, so I was thinking an outer space background with stars or something. Another Idea I had was to put a metal plating in the background, similar to phazon mines in Metroid prime1.
I'll probably end up sticking to the one I have now anyways, but I need practice either way.
