A revolution is coming. See below for The Beginning.

TR3G is working on adding more tactics to the public database(the posts below). Movement trick challenges are encouraged, and tactics not yet discussed are welcome. Database under construction.

Lasers: Lasers are an important tool for our hero. There are times where lasers will save your life, continue a combo, or keep your opponent at bay, limiting their offensive options. Though lasers are an amazing tool and do provide Fox with some comfort with distance scenarios, lasers can be easily weaved through by those apt at dealing with them. Here is a number of mixups and laser movements TR3G has so far compiled.

There was this one cool little dance I did with fox I was never able to perform again. I like, jumped to the right, double lasered left, landed in the same spot i jumped from (sh btw), and did the same jumping left, shooting right and landing on the same spot I jumped on. Pls gif that.

I believe that hitbox doesn't even register so it's literally worthless besides style. Frame perfect right?

also, from ground, double jump with the second jump being pressed as fast as possible lands fox perfectly on top platform at the apex of his jump right?

(also, shouldn't this go in character discussion)

http://www.gfycat.com/MarvelousLightAvocet You mean like this?

And, yes there is NO hitbox on spawning shine. Frame perfection requirement status unknown.

neg. like. stand at point x, jump right, fire two lasers to the left, and move back left to land exactly where you stood at the jump. Once you land back at the spot where you started off, jump left, fire two lasers right, and move right until you land back at the same spot.

Multiple posts, wrong section, alt account of hipstur. Every reason to lock it and ban you and that would be a hilarious show of Fox's future.

But this thread seems to contribute to the gameplay (for a change) and I hope it will be useful for wannabe Fox mains such as myself. Looking forward to it.

Edit: but it still belongs to the character section.

Yes there will be the inclusion of certain strategies and tactics, and their resulting discussion. There will also be a video. They will be released upon getting the TR3G Seal of Approval.

Yes, Fox can achieve a perfect landing on the top platform. It is also rather easy to perfect shine, given that you standardize your 1st jump height and double jump timing. This is the same reason a shine-land on the top platforms is easy; if you slant your jump you must stick jump, but if you full hop in place, it is an easier timing to standardize.

edit was meant for an edit of the above post, not a double post. Oops!

Fox getting the grab because of port priority. Or not, since frame advancing on 30fps footage is nebulous.

Is there some sort of trick to the short hop double lasers?

I found that having knowledge of how this works is the most helpful.

First of all, make sure you are not doing slanted jumps - shdl with slanted jumps have to be frame perfect and I don't really know of anyone that uses them.

Next, you need to make sure that you are starting the first laser IMMEDIATELY after jumpsquat. This means you should hit b like you would to do a jc shine (3 frames after jump starts). I slide from left c to b to do this.

For the second laser, I believe the pew sound roughly corresponds to when you may input the next laser. There is a 4(?) frame window where you may input the second laser assuming you did the first laser frame perfect. These 4 frames correspond to different laser heights and you generally want to get the lowest one.

If you can't get any double lasers hitting b only twice, try spamming so you can at least see it happen and maybe glean some details of the timing.

I might make a gif of this later, but one laser technique I like is slanted fullhop double laser. This laser height is used for short characters on dreamland side platforms that fullhop double laser wouldn't hit.
