I dont normaly hate on starters...
But why Tepig?
We have Torchick, Finnekin, charmander, ****ing CHIMPCHAR
but they said "lol Tepig"
I mean, Blaziken is my favorite Pokemon of all time, but he already got a Mega. Gen 1 starters get shilled enough, and Zard's in this game as it is. Tepig potentially getting a Mega is cool. Though I feel it's weird Samurott and Typhlosion got regional variants instead of all the starters getting Megas or Regional variants in equal measure.

Be it a mega or a regional form I do think there's a high chance we'll be getting the Grass/Fairy Meganium form a lot of people have wanted. But who knows, maybe Gamefreak is going to throw us a curve ball and make it a Grass/Dragon.

Anyway I think I'm going to go with Totodile as my starter of choice, but I'm unsure. I've always been a fan of the 'Dile but I think Feraligatr is a pokemon that looked a lot better in 2D then in 3D. Maybe they'll make it work this time.
Dunno why, but I'm thinking it'll be Water/Steel, Fire/Dark, Grass/Fairy. But I might be wrong. They could keep the Fire/Fighting type set-up, but give him some crazy ability or min-maxxed stats. That is, if they are getting Megas, but with them coming back in this game, that just feels what they should do.

I'm surprised you didn't post the "It should've been me!" gif from Yu-Gi-Oh!

Huh, what?
It's not exactly what we were expecting, but uh...

Who're you picking?

I honestly have no idea. The gen 5 fanboy in me is leaning towards Tepig, but it's Tepig so I dunno. I think it'll depend on what they evolve into, be it regional forms or new Megas.
I am legit a die hard Chikorita fan so them

We straight up see Chikorita with Disarming Voice in this which it's never had before.

Grass/Fairy Meganium Stocks are on the up, invest now.
They also gave a handful of Fire Types Flame Wheel, which should've been a more common move. Wonder if Flareon gets it now or not. Tepig and Talonflame seem to at least. Hopefully Flame Charge is still in, cause while Wheel hits harder, Charge boosts up speed. Which should still be useful in this game.

Fire's my favorite type, and is less common than Water or Grass. Totodile's also peak. Even as someone who dropped modern Pokemon for a while, I'm sure I'll jump back in at some point.

If them bringing back the blank slate looking trainer options means bringing back SV's limited customization in the Kalos game of all places I'm gonna have to write a very strongly worded email to the Pokémon company
And you expect them to change once you do send this email?

You know who’s making this game, right? :191:

Do y'all think that (Mega) Feraligatr is finally getting Strong Jaw or do you think Gamefreak will be too cowardly too after the beautiful mistake that was Dracovish?

It's either that or Tough Claws like Zard-X and Aerodactyl.

Or literal command grabs. Input a half circle to do a Gator Deathroll.

Quick thoughts:
-On the Starter choices, all three need more love so I'm happy they're getting it, though I can understand why many wish we got more of a mix over Gen 2 + Tepig. I look forward to seeing what they do with them, though my hope is Regionals if we had to choose between that and Megas if we don't get both (picking Totodile).
-Visuals I'm mixed on, the locations looks nice, but the Pokemon look flat again and I'm not that fond of the human characters either. It's not a dealbreaker, but I would've liked something more stylistic.
-Speaking of locations, it does seem like we're locked to the city, at least for the most part. As long as it's fun to explore it should be fine, but I'm interested to see how they play around with it.

All in all, a neat proper first look, but nothing too exciting either. As said before, we'll probably get more in the Summer so hopefully that'll give us a better idea on the game.

These are the player characters for Legends Z-A

...are these Ethan and Lyra??
I still get a bit of Calem vibes from the guy, though the girl definitely reminds me more of Lyra then Serena.

Strong Jaw was never the issue with Dracovish, the issue was Fishious Rend.
Understood.

Giving Regional/Mega Feraligatr Fishious Rend.

Oh no... it starts with zoomer humor..
I know it’s off putting, but there’s a way it could be done cleverly.

The original Shrek was a very of it’s time movie, making tons of pop culture references and jokes that were relevant in 2001. It was like a South Park episode that secretly had a touching, timeless love story inside

If they’re channeling that energy and using modern zoomer humor as another vehicle to tell a good story, they’d actually be staying true to the original Shrek movies. Of course I could be wrong and they’re just tossing in things they think the kids like. We’ll see.

I thought it was the combination of the two tbh, Fishious Rend was boosted by strong jaw and Dracozolt was never as much of a problem.

I guess I was imagining Gatr getting a new water-type biting attack in ZA or a new secondary type like Dark, which with access to Dragon Dance or a mega could be over the top. But I guess for a mega that stuff would be par for the course.

They actually fixed my major problem, not only with Legends Arceus, but with the entire pokemon series.

Pokemon MOVE during battles! That is genuinely more exciting than anything else they could have done.

Also Champions looks cool. I can wreck y'all with my level 100 SwSh team.

Also I think we need to talk about the Copperajah in the room with Pokemon Champions.

It's a mobile game. Probably live service too. Which has its advantages, but like...How is the monetization going to work?

Is it going to be Free-to-Play? Subscription based? I hope it's something you just buy once but seeing it playable on a phone gives me doubts.

Okay so Furfrou and Patrat are confirmed for the game. Meaning the only Pokemon left that have never appeared on the Switch are the elemental monkeys.

Considering they also appeared in the original Kalos dex, I’m hoping we’ll get them too.

Shrek 5 teaser
Edit: I got :ultgreninja:'d
Yep go on DreamWorks. Continue milking this franchise until its dried up and nothing is left. Continue milking it like what's been happening with Ice Age and other sequels like Jurassic World and such.

The Last Wish was an anomaly.

Hollywood is all just sequels, remakes and reboots, barely any originality anymore. Nostalgia is one helluva drug.

Your movie rants have barely any originality anymore.

I'm just stating the truth regarding Hollywood that many doesn't want to hear.

Love it or hate it. It's true. Considering these last few years, most if not all highest grossing films has been either sequels, remakes and reboots. Audiences just wants the same thing over and over again.

I'm sorry if I want more originality in Hollywood has been sequels.

And yes I'm a Godzilla fan before you point it out but doesn't mean that I want there to be more original movies and stuff and yes I'm aware original films are still made but not as much as there used to be. Nowadays its mostly sequels, remakes and reboots.
