The second you stop thinking about Sheik as a crutch to cover Zelda's weaknesses, and instead as just another tool in Zelda's bag...that is when you will succeed.

I really do use both halves at different times for different reasons. There are so many different reasons to switch that you can find all sorts of ways to play, even if Sheik is theoretically so much better. She isn't better at everything, so find the things your Zelda is better in and optimize your switching!

I use Zelda whenever i find myself in a tight situation with sheik. I only switch to sheik when i am at high damage and need to move quicker, otherwise i ignore sheik.

My preferences change over time, too. I used to always start Zelda because Zelda does better at low percents (for both chars), but then I started starting Sheik because her better neutral gets me the lead more often. Now I'm starting Zelda again because my Sheik loses the first stock to zero-to-deaths too often, while at least my Zelda lets me play the stock and notice habits.

After that I'm probably going to start Zelda but try to switch to Sheik mid-first-stock or something lol
