Went to a weekly yesterday featuring Mr. R and got 9th out of 66. Managed to get on stream for one of my matches

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0d7r3dsfYQ

I really liked how you used Uthrow into Gordo and you attempted a couple Bthrow into Gordo was nice to see someone in bracket using Gordos like this. Was really funny to see him getting rekt by sour nairs as DHD lmao. I've heard about you and it's nice to see you doing well with DDD. The only thing I would say is to try practicing Dthrow buffer turn around Bair. It's super optimal and sets up for a lot of great conversions with another falling bair/jump bair/fast fall ftilt and even Gordo toss if they air dodge.

The buffer window offline is pretty tight but really it's worth it.

Some powerful D3 in my region who goes by Kallor, a Top 15-20 ranked player imo.

Maybe not the most impressive matches he's had, but I thought maybe a few would like seeing them. Pardon my horrible commentary and voice in 2 of these, though.

Hey guys, last night I figured out the trick to beating Mayonetta with Dedede. There are two simple techs you need to know, and it will make the MU probably 80:20 in D3's favor!
I demonstrate both techs in this vid:
The key is to keep your intimidation factor as high as possible.

Also, **** this ness. He had two chances and he blew them both.

Lol, with the Bayonetta one, not only did you absolutely expose the mayo, but you also used D-tilt's lack of a hitbox close to Dedede to your advantage lol. This clip would never have happened if that were fixed!

I try not to post vids too much in here, but as of right now my Gordo Mastery series is complete! Posting the link to the final breakdown - THE STICK. Months of testing, research, scrapping old failed ideas, and restarting in here.

https://youtu.be/XHYJKgD_TxQ

Lots more I could say, but I think the vid speaks for itself :)

I love this type of stuff man and I'll definitely try to add it to my game

People like me that don't lab this type of new tech as frequently really appreciate the people that put the time in to help figure it out for everyone else. Thanks for this!

Some more gameplay of me at a tournament, this time at a tournament from my school last week.

vs BoScotty (R.O.B.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1hEI2mS7gM

I don't win this but I think it was a good set. I know that Dash Attack was super unsafe but I guess I kinda just threw it out because I didn't think down throw up air would kill me at 86%, but I was clearly wrong LOL. But yeah there was really no reason to do that with the lead anyway, silly stuff like that are still the things that I need to stop doing entirely. I also made a Gfycat of the last stock of Game 2 lol

vs 2Blu (Toon Link)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD_Q77o7_u8

I feel like I started off this set playing pretty badly but I adjusted as it went on I guess lol. Not one of my favorite matchups even though its a matchup I know well because my main practice partner is a Toon Link player, and I was even contemplating switching to MK or Pit after Game 1 but I'm happy I didn't.

Just a reminder that as a dedede player, you should always be aware of when you take the opponents double jump so you can push your edgeguard to its limits

I'm guessing most people have already seen this, but I think this is the best demonstration of the dedede mind game that is required to play him.

A couple fairly recent matches for anyone interested. I know I personally like to see tourney play from halfway decent Dedede mains because I always learn something, it seems.

Vs Mewtwo (number 4 player on St. Louis pr)

https://youtu.be/uTjI8rSVLl0
https://youtu.be/w3vfo-rsVvg
Above, vs Diddy (not sure of rank, but a top 3-8 Chicago player; the result of both matches was bad for me, but I think it was largely due to a few huge mistakes - I think I do some things well here when I'm not being dumb)

I guess I can say a few things:

Flaws: Its funny, I feel like you played better in the second video where you lost, than in the first one where you won. But anyways, the first thing that stuck out to me was that you use dash attack too much. Myself, I almost never use it unless I am punishing a ledge regrab or reading a getup option. It is not a good approach. The sheik got hit by it too much, and I guarantee you a better sheik would shield and hard punish such a laggy option. Also, your approaches were not very good either. I mean, approaching with Dedede is hard, I know, but F-air and dash attack should never be used to approach. Often when you used fair, you could have used RAR Bair to do a better job. I saw you using Bair a bit, but you need to use it more, it is the number one move people cite for why they lose to me. Short hop Bair and fastfall Bair/inhale are probably our only decent approach options. Also, have a plan for every gordo you throw out, use D-tilt gordo at times (I saw one prime example where you should have used it vs mewtwo when he was at the ledge and sent out a gordo from about midstage), and when possible short hop before using gordo as it makes you harder to punish and gordo bounces at a better height. Also I don't think I ever saw you Dthrow. We get a lot of damage of D-throw Bair or Dthrow U-air, and are put in an advantageous position by both. It is still worth it to throw your opponent off the stage at times, but most of the time do Dthrow combos.

MU specific: versus the Mewtwo you got hit with too many shadow balls shortly after he fully charged them, even though you weren't in any endlag. Just expect him to throw it out shortly after charging. Also versus the sheik, don't go offstage to edgeguard, sheik's recovery is too good and dangerous. Just set up a gordo trap on the ledge and punish the getup option.

Strengths: You had a very good powershielding game, especially in the Mewtwo game, but often you didn't make the most out of those powershields. Once you get one, you should capitalize on your frame advantage and grab or jab. I saw you do jab-jab-Dtilt once, but no other jab cancels in either video. I guess just do more of those, it makes a jab much more rewarding! Your defensive game was very good, especially your run away then turn around F-tilt. When you had stage to run away to you often capitalized on that well.

Hi, I have a few sets here from recent tournaments. The first one is here for fun, but the other two show me struggling with ROB. I'm having a lot of trouble with that matchup and I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me some advice. Both matchup specific advice and general advice are greatly appreciated!

Rave vs GuardianOfTheLedge
Lada vs GuardianOfTheLedge
FroZn vs GuardianOfTheLedge

I don't know if any of you were watching Endgame last weekend but I was there and got 49th/249 which is okay but I wanted to get Top 32 so I'm not really that happy about it. But I guess one thing that would make feel a little bit better is that I had an unfortunate bracket since I had to run into Trela in my first round match of Top 64 because he got upset in pools. So I think I definitely would have won another game or 2 if I didn't have to run into the 4th overall seed early into losers bracket lol. But that also doesn't make me feel too much better because it went down to Game 3 last stock so I definitely know I could have won that set if I played a bit better...

Here is my set against Trela
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Hnp31QCcyE

(in Game 2 those weren't traps or anything lol my controller was just acting up I need to get a new one)

I got on stream another time at the tournament in pools against a Ness player from Chicago

And if you just happen to wanna see some more recent gameplay heres a set from a weekly yesterday against a Cloud player
