To the Zelda Community, I present The Royal Palace Theater!
Its pupose is to both entertain and teach. I have sorted through hours of videos and taken only the best to put in. I looked for quality and skill in the player as well as for a variety of styles, moves, and opponents. This way Zelda players can learn many things from each video. I especially wanted a video of a good Zelda against all the other characters so that people can:
  1. Learn a good strategy against a character
  2. learn about the moves and how to react to the moves of another character.
(however it is not complete)
So anyway, each video was chosen to go into this archive for a reason. I hope everyone enjoys it and uses it.
Please let me know if you have a video you want added and I will deem it worthy or not worthy of the archive(meaning that if it is unique in some way and the Zelda is good then I will add it. Unlike other character archives, I am going to try and keep this archive from being cluttered with tons of videos).
Please comment and tell me what you think, and if you have any suggestions then let me know. (By the way, I am looking for more good zelda videos that are not by DarkMusician, who is good but over half of the 1V1's are by him). I am hoping this will turn into the official Zelda Archive and get stickied. One last thing is that I numbered the 1V1 videos so that if people want to discuss a video then they can easily refer to it.
Happy Viewings!

Quality one on ones
Toonlink
1. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs MellowD(Toon Link) 1
http://youtube.com/watch?v=_TPFh8hWPFQ
(Good aggressive, fluid and quick playing. Note at about 0:40sec in how TL uses his bomb to help recover)
Wolf
2. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs Merc(Wolf) 1/3
http://youtube.com/watch?v=JzliCn3SFVs&feature=related
(some mistakes, but you can see some potentially good styles against wolf. Ultimately, not my favorite clip but the best wolf one I could find).
Luigi
3. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs CubaisDeath(Luigi) 1
http://youtube.com/watch?v=DdZZao4hhQo&feature=related
(You can see some good ways to avoid luigi’s attacks. Also note that luigi has a good aerial game).
Dedede
4. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs CubaisDeath(Dedede) 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWVLWWv5X14&NR=1
(Some what of a bad beginning but then DM warms up and gets good. However, he was a little to repetitive and Dedede comes back).

5. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs CubaisDeath(Dedede) 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BFLgYlj5m8&feature=related
(Really good match. Good use of Dins fire, bigger variety of moves than #4, and really got those lightning kicks down (or are they called thunder kicks? Can’t remember)).

6. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs CubaisDeath(Dedede) 3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICN69yt6uFw&feature=related
(Over all it was well played, similar to #5 though. I like how DM lightning kicks dedede on his Up B move).
Falco
7. SBHM 2 DarkMusician vs Firefly 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9FE9wkuB3M&NR=1
(Even though DM lost, it is a good video to learn from. Zelda’s style is the norm though).

8. SBHM 3 Convael vs DarkMusician 3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjLpYHStNGM&NR=1
(Very good video to see some approach tactics against falco. Overall zelda played well but unfortunately lost).
Ike
9. SBHM 2 DarkMusician vs Firefly 3 (Ike)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDs0-udrkp8&feature=related
(Fast paced and aggressive style. Note: DM lightning kicks frequently on the rise of a jump, I think that is important to learn. Also when knocked off DM usually uses some move to help slow down faster after DIing).

10. Naks (Zelda) vs Ryko 3 (Ike)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBWjOP7KvZw&fmt=18
(Very nice! Good defensive style. Fairly good use of farores wind. And for the most part, very good at watching and avoiding Ikes attacks).

11. Naks vs Ryko match 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zThNzedjRWw&feature=related
(Similar to #10, but with some good variations in moves, that show a good use for them against Ike).

12. Zelda (Naks) vs Ike (Ryko) SoS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L07ZCgly4DA
(Again a very good defensive style. Good use of air dodging/spot dodging. Note: It is very apparent that Naks waits for the opponent to make the mistake and then punishes).

13. Arean(Zelda/Sheik) vs Dragon_Dive (Ike)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g8JkntwF4w
(Overall very good. The shiek is better than most others I have seen, and the zelda was very good. In general, a very good, style with a balance of attack and defense).

Rob
14. SBHM 2 DarkMusician vs Rave 1 (Rob)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETVt331v9Ks
(Almost a 3 stock. Just a very well played game).

Ness
15. SBHM 2 DarkMusician vs Rave 2 (Ness)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BB3h1MtXTw&feature=related
(Nice game, good variety of attacks, and they were used very effectively).

Ice Climbers
16. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs Swift Kai(Ice Climbers)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Jj4DwXho0U
(An Excellent video to watch! It shows two very deadly Ice Climber combos that you really do not want to get stuck in because they are hard to get out of).

Kirby
17. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs Merc(Kirby) 4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apIqLWPvjOg
(For such a small person Kirby certainly packs a punch. Kirby has powerful aerials, that unlike Zelda, don’t need to be that precise).

Olimar
18. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs James(Olimar) 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OknHBztBl0A
(A good close match. Both players had there moments).

19. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs James(Olimar) 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeuECmLg8Aw
(A decent match. I personally think that olimar is one of the characters that is more easily gimped, and toward the end of this clip you can see why).

20. Aeyr (Z elda) vs. HYDE (Olimar) 07
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LE2yZA-Lmss&feature=related
(Almost a 3 stock, but lost momentum on Olimar’s last stock, other than that, a good match with a good finish)

21. Aeyr (Zelda) vs. HYDE (Olimar) 03
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDuxSnlKB08&feature=related
(Bad beginning but good ending. Note: when olimar is at about 50%+ if you dsmash him off the edge and then time your edge hog so you have your invincibility frames when he shoots his pikmen then he can be easily gimped).

Snake
22. Darkmusician(Zelda) vs Zaukkien(Ike/Snake) 4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4bkrl68-3w&feature=related
(Excellent match. Nothing really cool, it was just really well played).

23. Aeyr (Zelda) vs HYDE (Snake) 01
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kvhvRPGgzE&feature=related
(All around good use of a variety of attacks, especially down A)

24. Aeyr (Zelda) vs HYDE (Snake) 03
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCPvqPfQDE0&feature=related
(Some fun kills though the stage is not a tourney stage as far as I know)

25. FinalKai (Zelda) vs. KFUJI (Snake) game 3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyiqZURE0g0
(Really good video, especially for learning purposes).

Wario
26. Mech(Wario) vs. CND(Zelda)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=dcqqePSAanA
(Good beginning but bad ending)

Sonic
27. Soma(Zelda) vs. Chaos(Sonic)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=0GoFkVVswTk&feature=related
(Interesting style of play though excessive use of farore’s wind, which in the
end worked)

Zero Suit Samus
28. Garde (Zelda) vs DSR (ZSS)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=5-OyRHHTkGU&feature=related
(Several really stupid SD’s by both players, but other than that the fight its self is better than #23 but does not show as many techniques.

29. Garde (Zelda) vs DSR (ZSS) 7
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Bql1wEKZBog&feature=related
(While the play is not spectacular it is a helpful video in that it shows some key techniques that a lot of zamus players apply).

30. Arean (Zelda) vs Cleo (Zamus)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh3-Y57Tyvo
(Again, a good balance of offensive play and defensive play. Really liked the variety of moves and how well they were performed and used for maximum impact).

31. Arean (Zelda) vs Cleo (ZSS) 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCndbMg4eE4
(Good match. It is a little more fast paced than #27 and has a good combo that will make everyone at least smile with satisfaction).

Marth
32. Ryoko (Sheik-Zelda) vs. Wizenheimer (Marth)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDgUo_9W724
(Best Sheik-Zelda video I have seen yet, other than that I don’t feel qualified to give a good comment since I don’t play with Sheik. If someone qualified wants to comment then post it and I will add it).

33. Keys (Zelda) Vs DannyKat (Marth)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6zM67URwlI
(Good video for seeing a hard marth play, you can get some good insight as how to avoid attack and such. Keys made some mistakes toward the end, but other than that a good match, though admittedly I felt that Keys style of play is not geared toward a fast player like marth).

Mr. Game and Watch
34. Keys (Zelda) Vs CIA (Game&Watch)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LldNKtIr6nM
(No specifics, just a good match).

35. Naks (Zelda) vs Guru (Mr. Game and Watch) Smashville
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fPFQqplpuk
(Really good video. Nice attacks, especially at 2:40 or so, but an unfortunate ending).

Ganondorf
36. FinalKai (Zelda) vs. KFUJI (Ganon) game 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_jqqNq6YEo
(Nice video. Note: Against ganon, when FinalKai waited for ganon to attack he easily evaded the attack, but when Final attacked ganon started doing well).

Metaknight
37. FinalKai (Zelda) vs. CPG (MK) game 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JIWmqJplWg
(A good MK is incredibly hard to beat because MK has barely any lag in his attacks, and you can see what I mean in this video).

38. WiFi 5-27 Garde (Zelda) vs. KBMF (MK) 10
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-6-SRpf7e0&feature=related
(3 stocked MK. The only reason I really think Zelda won was because MK made a lot of mistakes(half of which he was forced into). Having said that I think that unless MK makes a lot of mistakes no one is going to beat him(most of the time any way)).

Pikachu
39. ESAM (pikachu) vs Nick Riddle (Zelda)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Rpq72e4VI8
(If you are someone like me who finds pikachu hard to beat then this is a really good video to watch. Some really nice moves and a great ending).

40. ESAM (pikachu) vs Nick Riddle (Zelda)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Px2s7yxokwM
(Very close match. Again another good video in general and for learning how to beat pikachu. Really nice gimp on pikachu’s second stock).

Peach
41. Yuki(PEA) vs Ikki(ZEL)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LwyeTCluy0
(Nice video. Good use of down A, and good timing for the most part).

Team Battles
So far I have not found much that is good, but I don’t know where to look(typing it on youtube got me know where), so any help from you guys would be appreciated.

1. TAG Brawl Stanley Ipkiss vs Dirty Diaper Poopy Pants 1/2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icEDbuT1nM4&feature=PlayList&p=CC72109AE1157A93&index=1
(Never would have thought to put snake and zelda together but this is a really nice match).

2. Chexr&Aarow(Wolf,Zelda) vs Bug City (Ike,T.Link) R1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=To2L2PZme8U
(A tough match up but they worked well together and came out on top).

3. Chimp(ROB) Ryoko (Shiek/zelda) vs Edd (olimar) Ether (Snake)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vm6IzgWri34
(Really nice video. I will have to say that after seeing this video I am now more appreciative of Shiek. I think shiek does very well in a team, much better than in a 1v1).

4. NaksRyko vs JashDpch match1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slqhnBcEv1M&fmt=18
(A decent match, I really liked some of the things zelda did to take advantage of the stage).

5. naksryko vs jashdpch match 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_1HJJ3sZKA&fmt=18
(Another good match with a nice ending in naks favor. You might need to watch this several times as there are two zeldas).

6. PC Chris and DarkMusician Brawl Tournament (finals)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVmypnUAnFs&feature=related
(Video Quality is bad but the playing is good, I will eventually get DMs better quality vid up).

7. VC games Finals naks(zelda) and ryko(Ike) vs sapphire and guru(zss/G&M)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ic-rZMIvbw
(Another good doubles match).

Miscellaneous
This section is going to be organized into a bit of a competition. Here’s how it will work:
Any one who has a good score for Target Test, Home Run contest…etc. can post the video of it and I will take a look. If it better than the one that is already on the archive then I will delete that one and put your one up. Which means that which ever video is up that person is the current record holder. What you will win is honor and respect and the chance to show off a bit before someone else tops you. I hope you will enjoy this section, but if for some reason it does not work out then I will change it. For now it is a bit of a test run.
So with out further ado: let the competition commence!

Thanks for the archive. This will be incredibly useful.

If I may add a suggestion, what do you think about having a "top picks" for the one on ones?

Ya sure. I can add a 'top picks' as a sub section of the one on ones. Which were you thinking as the top picks?

Number 11 is intense. I am not sure what you were trying to accomplish through the top picks section, but if you mean really good videos, then it's good.

I haven't finished watching them yet. I can't really decide myself, and it would be weird voting. Maybe as time goes on and we see which vids are talked about most, a general consensus can be formed about which are the best.

One of my favorites is # 18, just because soma's style is so different. I think that his style holds potential when used in moderation, because I think that if he had been playing someone of better skill then he would have lost. Hence why I say 'a good style in moderation'.
So yes, i agree with sinkinghigher about seeing what others think.

I see what you mean about #18. It does show that good styles are best in moderation... Most of the time his FW's served almost no purpose at all. Granted Sonic is a difficult match-up for Zelda, he didn't do a bad job. The style does certainly hold more potential when used slightly less. It was used to the point of annoyance and hindrance.

Ha, I do that thing with the FW all the time. Well, not ALL the time, but quite often. Soma does it all the time. I think he really needs to learn how to time things better.

I only use it if I KNOW they wont reach me by the time I'm doing it, whereas he seems to do it and hope they don't get him. It's a good video to learn from.

Ashes, I really like the idea of putting user comments under the videos. Totally useful, thanks. :D

sinkinghigher: cool, I will try and go back over the videos and put basic synopsis/comment under each video.

Arean: I will check out Aeyr's videos then, thanks. I really like DM but i feel like there is too many videos of him. so i am looking for others. so when I get some time off work then i will check Aeyr's vids.

Thanks sinkinghigher, I will Take a look...
couple hours later:
so i liked some of Aeyr's, but the vids that I looked at(which was most of them)of popsofctown did not impress me enough. I felt like he was to predictable adn did not vary that much in attacks. (sorry popsofctown, I hope you see it as contructive criticism cause I really am not meaning to offend you) so any way which one/s of popsofctown's were you thinking of? Also in a way I am avoiding the Zelda/Sheik vids. Partly because I have not found a sheik that I felt was all that great(they all lost), and also partly because i wanted this to be an all Zelda Archive. Do you disagree? Do you think people will want to see the Zelda/Sheik vids?
I have not taken a look at the others links yet, but I will soon.
Thanks again.

Too bad ninjalink removed his brawl vids... he has a nice zelda.

Also, instead of arranging it by player may I suggest that you arrange it by Character matchup? This can help people look at videos on which they want to learn how to fight against

Character match up? as in all the zelda V Ike together and all the Zelda V Snake together?
I like that idea, I will see what I can do.
And ya I had heard about ninjalink and looked but obviously did not find anything.

I think that primarily Zelda v whomever videos would be ideal, but zelda videos that also include sheik shouldn't be abandoned. I would doubt that I'm the only one that sees the advantage of being able to fluently incorporate sheik into one's tactics.

Alright jbozz. In that case do you know of any videos that have a good zelda/sheik? Cause as I said before, what I had found when looking, I was not very impressed with sheik. I felt like while the player is sheik he does not rack up enough damage without dying or going up a significant amount himself. SO i have felt like using sheik was a waste. I really would love to be proved wrong on this since so far i really do not like sheik. obviously also I cannot play with the zelda/sheik combination either so that has not helped my outlook on sheik.

I haven't really seen anything very helpful either in the zelda/sheik department. I know that many people discuss appropriate times to switch to shiek, like during difficult matchups, but many don't advise switching during a match. I was saying that it could really be helpful if someone could incorporate it, but I haven't really seen it, though I have tried myself, more or less unsuccessfully.

This is really old but it's good transitional usage. it's also the only video ryoko has posted.

That's a good one. I guess it focuses mostly on the strategy of using Sheik's top-tier tilts to rack up the damage and then bringing it home with Zelda's f/usmash.

Ya sorry guys/girls, I have been really busy lately and my internet has been acting up. I am in the process of a fairlly big update to this thread so hang on for a bit longer till i finish. I am really trying to get it done as i think it will really be an improvement. I will also add some more vids, like DMs playing with fire. If i am not to busy the update should be ready by the weekend, that is my hope anyway.
Thanks for the supporth though. and keep the comments and suggestions coming.

Hey everyone,
I had several hours to spare today so i have updated the thread. I added about 10 new videos, as well as putting comments under each one on one video. I also took (I think it was) Naks advice and reorganized the thread. Now people can more easily see what they need to and also now people can see what videos I need to add still. So if you have any good videos of Zelda against any character, though especially against characters that are not on this thread already or only have one or two videos, then please post so I can add it.
Enjoy!

I'm still a Zelda in development.

Out of my videos, if there are any you could possibly take, they would be either the vs. Sonics or the vs. Pits. (if my vs. Pit's are all zelda, i need to check again if they are. )
I don't know if i won the vs. Pit's, or played well, but at the time i remember feeling like i understood how to approach the Zelda v. Pit matchup.

Hey everyone,
What would you think of a Misc. section on this thread for videos like:
Target test, Home run contest... etc. ?
Do you think people would enjoy seeing them, or having some what of a competion to see who can get the best score and who's ever had the best would only have that video on or something?
What do you guys think?

Sounds like a fun idea...though I don't know how many people would be willing to participate.

Personally, I'd like to see some team battles or FFAs...team battles more so though.

Oh, also...this is slightly a bit irrelevant but would you mind changing my name in the title of my videos to FinalKai and not just Final? I'd really appreciate it, Ashes...especially since i just saw another person on these boards with the name "Final63"...it would help avoid confusion...and also give proper credit. Thanks in advance.

Sure no problem, I will change your name right away.
As for the team battles, it will take me a while to get some good clips but yes I was planning on putting in a team section. If you have any good team vids, or a good place to find some then that will help start me off.
Also I recognize the abreviation FAA but I honestly don't know what it is. Can you give me clarification?

Oh FFA is Free For all...like a 4 man Free For all. Although probably not as useful in terms of learning advanced techs, since it's more of a game of survival when there's that many people, but we still might be able to divine some useful things from them...and if not, than at the very least they'll be entertaining.

As for team battle recordings...I'm lacking in recordings in general, so we'll just have to leave it in the hands of others. Anyone got any?

Thanks again for the change. Much appreciated. =)

Goodkid: Cool thanks alot, I will look at those, when I have some time tomorrow.

GodAtHand: I will look for you but I don't know if I will find anything worthy enough. If any one has seen or is in a good zelda Vs olimar then let me know please.

DM: Alright, excellent I will take a look then. I am assuming that the vids you are talking of are in your newest video thread posting. I admittedly have not found the time to look at that thread much. But I will try to tomorrow. Thanks
