Welcome everyone to the Dawn Brigade! The Micaiah Support Thread!
Moveset Potential
These are the Micaiah's Light Magic Tomes when we are talking about Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn-Only:
(The Ultimate Knight Destroyer)
Also exist other tomes in other games like the regular version of Aura, and Divine. All these animations have a interesting potential as Micaiah's moves in the game. Oh... Talking about moves from other games... Do you remember Robin's Arcfire (Side B), well, his animation it's based in one of the GBA Games, Micaiah also would use them.
(Examples with all the magicians animations in the GBA Games).
Next we have the Staffs. This is a list with the Radiant Dawn's Staffs and their different effects.
Movesets:
#Micaiah4Smash !
(Should I use one of older post here as a fan-art collection?)
*Still under construction. Open to suggestions*
A vídeo with every Light tome in Fire Emblem would be a great addition.
______
Legacy content and other lore posts.
Also I have something special if you want to talk about her character in-game (Warning: Spoiler)
Who is Micaiah?
Micaiah is one of the Fire Emblem Main Characters, more specifically from Radiant Dawn, the tenth game.
She is the leader of the Dawn Brigade, a group of people fighting to free their home country, Daein, from the control of the neighboring country, Begnion. She is a magician that has the power of foresight, and with other power like her "Sacrifice" and be a g.. oh wait, spoilers alert!.
She is what is known as a "branded": a person born of a beorc (a human basically) parent and a laguz (a human-like with some animal features, like wings or tails) parent. This heritage alters her aging, so... she is far older than she looks. With her strong abilities in use of light magic, as well as staffs, she would one of the most original characters to represent the Fire Emblem franchise.
Interesting... No?
Well, now is time to talk about more specifically about her abilities and the arguments related with her chances.
This is the brand
Arguments
Representation:
Fire Emblem could looks like it has many reps... but in fact, only over half of them are just Marth-based characters (Roy count like a half character like the other Semi Clones because his many unique traits compared with Marth, but his animations are still mainly like Marth's ones and Lucina is pretty much a female Marth). And the Roster should't be divided for "reps", the important things is use interesting ideas with popular characters or appealing characters with potential to be popular, and Micaiah has that potential.
In fact, even with the Representation Arguments, Micaiah still has some popularity in japanese media as one of the most wanted Fire Emblem Characters (the only one alongside Lyn that had have consistent following as a Smash Character even after losing recency).
The Japanese Support in the Smash Ballot make her one of the most possible ideas for the future of the Fire Emblem Cast in Smash Bros.
The newest characters are usually the most likely, but if Chrom, Robin and Corrin had teach us something, you can simply won a spot with recency in your side.

As the first paragraph say, Micaiah has in her repertory the Light Magic and Staffs. These are the Micaiah's Light Magic Tomes when we are talking about Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn-Only:
- Light (Basic Light Magic)
- ElLight (Level C Magic)
- Purge (Long.Range Light Magic)
- Shine (Level A Magic)
- Valaura (Level S Magic Corrupted Aura with toxic effects)
- Nosferatu (Level S Magic, a Life-sucking spell)
(The Ultimate Knight Destroyer)
Also exist other tomes in other games like the regular version of Aura, and Divine. All these animations have a interesting potential as Micaiah's moves in the game. Oh... Talking about moves from other games... Do you remember Robin's Arcfire (Side B), well, his animation it's based in one of the GBA Games, Micaiah also would use them.

Next we have the Staffs. This is a list with the Radiant Dawn's Staffs and their different effects.
- Heal/Mend/Recover (Healing Staffs)
- Torch (Lights Up an dark zone, usually Fog of War)
- Unlock (Open doors)
- Restore (Restores Condition... like poison or sleep)
- Ward (Raise Resistence)
- Hammerme (Repairs weapons)
- Sleep/Elsleep (May sleep a enemy)
- Silence/Elsilence (May silence a enemy)
- Physic/Matrona (Long-Range Healing Staffs)
- Rewarp (Teleports user)
- Fortify/Ashera (Multiple-target Healing Staffs)
But that isn't all! Micaiah also has some special abilities, this are Sacrifice and Corona, like Ike's Aether, she always will have (or get in the latter's case) these skills in the game.
Sacrifice is a skill... tricky to try to use in a fighting game by how works in the game (It's a healing command with backfired effects in Micaiah; basically, she exchange HP with other character and cures status effects). How exactly make it work in Smash? Well... It's always possible to have some creative liberties, for example, this skill can be used as Special Attack that buffs Micaiah's stats but gets the backfired.
Or we can take the difficult route and make the movement work in a more similar to the original. That can be used in Micaiah or her allies in co-op battles. With a special command, Micaiah can select whoever she want to use her "Sacrifice", and if is a ally, heal him/her and Micaiah get the backfired. But, of course, this would work different in Micaiah, like the first example.
In other other hand; Corona (Micaiah Third Class's Skill) is a simpler skill to adapt; the most logical use is a Final Smash (or at least as a part of it, because the skill's animation it can be used to connect an special move, like Rexaura).

B: Micaiah summons a light orb that lasts for 15 seconds or until it is run into by an opponent. When it is run into an opponent, it explodes. Does 17-20 damage, Great knock back, can have 5 orbs out at a time, orbs are as big as kirby.
Side B: Micaiahs orbs turn into lasers and shoot towards the inputed direction, does 11 per laser, ok knock back
Up B: Takes out 3 light orbs and uses her staff to swing across them. Same damage properties as B, when the orbs are summoned, if more three, the oldest one, two or three are fade away
Down B: The orbs go up a little bit and then drop to the ground, exploding on contact with a player or the ground. When it hits the ground it sends off a light wave the same size as the orb that travels two wave lengths. Orb does 22-24 damage with good knockback that sends up, wave does 11-15 damage and little knock back
Final Smash: Micaiah is possessed by Yune and her moves become stronger
B: Summons 3 orbs instead of one that last 15 seconds and has a cap of 15, damage is 24-29 damage with great knockback
Side B: Lasers latch on to closest opponent doing 15-19 damage per laser with good knock back going the direction the laser hit him
Up B: Summons 10 orbs below her that turn into platforms that last for 25 seconds, platforms are replaced by other platforms, not orbs, no damage
Down B: Same as Down b, but waves travel across the entire ground surface: orbs do 30-33 damage with great upward knockback, and waves do 15-17 damage with falco laser knock back

Entrance: Micaiah teleports herself into the battlefield using her Rewarp Staff.
Stance/Idle 1: Micaiah has the same battle stance she had in Radiant Dawn.
Idle 2: Micaiah looks to the horizon, while she puts her hand on her forehead and sighs.
Idle 3: Micaiah lifts up her book, opens it and reads for a brief moment, holding it with her two hands.
Crouch: Micaiah kneels on the floor, holding herself with her right hand on the floor, and holding her book with her left hand.
Walking: Micaiah moves slowly without moving her arms from their original position when she accelerates the walk this aspect remains.
Running: Micaiah runs moving her arms in rhythm with the legs while she still holds the book with her left arm.
Jump Micaiah crouches briefly and jumps, in the First Jump she lifts her arms and stretches them a little bit. In the Second Jump, she does a backflip, like Roy.
When she starts to fall, Micaiah puts her right hand on her dress (a typical anime situation where a character tries to avoid wind lifts).
Damaged: Micaiah backs a little bit, dropping her arms from their original position and lowering her body (Weak attacks). Micaiah ends with her arms down and her head is pushed backward (Strong attacks).
When Micaiah starts to fall after a strong attack, she hugs her book by her abdomen while she spins in the air. She remains with her arms by her abdomen when she falls on the floor in this condition.
Roll: Micaiah does the same move she does in her original game when she dodges attacks: Micaiah does a spin while she moves to the indicated side.
Sidestep/Dodge: Micaiah moves to a side while she hugs her book for an instant.
Broken Shield / Dizzy: While Micaiah staggers and tries to stay up, she puts her right hand on her face.
Sleep: Micaiah completely collapses on the floor and lays down.
Jab:
U-Tilt: Micaiah lifts her right arm and creates a light spell around her upper body with low power. However, this move can sometimes stun the opponents.
D-Tilt: Micaiah lifts her right arm slightly and casts a low-range magic sphere that moves on the floor.
Dash Attack: Micaiah puts both of her arms (with the book in the left arm) ahead and casts a small light attack. When the attack finishes, she loses momentum and stops.
Edge Attack: Micaiah casts a low-range magic sphere like the one in her D-Tilt while she is climbing up.
Floor Attack: Micaiah radiates a damaging light magic aura while she is getting up.
Forward Smash: Micaiah concentrates (closes her eyes and starts to move her right hand in circles), and when she finishes the charge, she creates light waves ahead from the floor that starts to move upwards. The damaged enemies are launched in a diagonal direction. (Based on FE4 Aura Animation.)
Up Smash: Micaiah channels magic (closes her eyes and begins raising her right hand in the air), and when the charge finishes, Micaiah lifts her right hand in the air and two powerful light rings appear around her; these rings move upwards and disappear when they arrive at a height slightly above her right hand. (Based on GBA Aura Animation.)
Down Smash: Micaiah begins to move her right hand (but this time horizontally), and when she finishes, Micaiah points to the floor, summoning from the height of her head a light beam directed at the floor provoking a small explosion. (Based on GBA Divine Animation.)
N-Air Micaiah radiates around her a magic aura that slightly damages the opponent. It’s fast and effective to avoid your opponent’s movements.
F-Air: Micaiah, using both of her hands, releases a powerful vortex (whirling rays) of light almost of the same size as her. The attack is incredibly strong (especially in the beginning of the animation), so much that it even pushes Micaiah in the opposite direction, which can leave her vulnerable if this attack is avoided.
B-Air: Micaiah casts a small but strong magic explosion facing the same direction as the attack. If this move hits, Micaiah will be propelled in the opposite direction.
U-Air: Micaiah raises her right hand in the air and summons a wiggling light wave (resembling a whip or a snake), and the top part of the wave (before the animation ends) does more damage and knockback.
D-Air: Micaiah, using both of her hands, creates a powerful explosion below her, and the center of the explosion is a Meteor Smash.
Grab: Micaiah uses both of her arms and tries to grab opponents and hold them.
Pummel: Micaiah holds her opponent and knees them.
F-Throw: Micaiah pushes her opponent forward with a small light sphere. It is fast but weak and launches opponents to the floor.
B-Throw: Micaiah gets behind the opponent and kicks them a short distance to the floor.
U-Throw: Micaiah, using her right arm, creates a light column from the floor. It damages and pushes opponents, and it can K.O. in high percentages.
D-Throw: Micaiah uses her right arm to create a light column above the opponent and strikes them, pushing them slightly upwards (an ideal tool to connect additional attacks).
Neutral Special Light Tomes (Light / Shine / Purge): Micaiah starts to charge magic. As soon as you press the button again it will shoot a light magic attack from her right arm (chest height). The attack is not particularly fast and has a short range but the more it is charged the more powerful it is (and the explosion will be bigger).
The move has three levels:
Neutral Special 3 Shattering Tomes: The move charges slower, but the attack does more Shield Damage.
Side Special Thani: Micaiah makes some light particles appear on the floor that can move further depending on how long the special button is pressed. As soon as the particles reach their limit or you release the special button, it will summon a light pillar from above (a little bit higher than Ganondorf’s height) that explodes in the direction where the light particles were located originally. If the hitboxes in the center of Thani connects, this attack will be a Meteor Smash.
Thani does massive shield damage. This attack is based on Micaiah’s Signature Tome, essentially a Magic Rapier (a.k.a. an anti-armor weapon).
Side Special 2 Valaura: This attack is similar, but the light pillar appears faster, is weaker and has less knockback. Additionally, the attack has a darkness effect (like the While Pikmin attack).
The light pillar and the explosion are purple.
Side Special 3 Blue Flames: The attack is more powerful, but it has more ending-lag and does recoil damage when released too close to Micaiah (like Roy’s fully charged special). The attack has fire properties and instead of a light pillar, it’s a blue flare (the explosion is blue too).
Up Special: Rewarp Micaiah uses a Staff to warp herself in any direction with a decent reach (this can’t do damage, but it can push the opponents slightly). Micaiah is invincible when she is warping.
Up Special 2 Instant Warp: Rewarp has a shorter reach but Micaiah doesn’t fall helpless (she can do any action other than teleport herself again) and the teleportation is faster.
Up Special 3 Powerful Warp: Rewarp has a particularly longer reach, but the move has a longer start-up.
Down Special Sleep Staff: Micaiah uses the Sleep Staff to create an AoE ahead her, any opponent in the AoE’s range will fall asleep.
Down Special 2 Silence Staff: Micaiah uses the Silence Staff this time, and the AoE will reflect the characters inside it and block the Special Moves for a brief moment.
Down Special 3 Sacrifice: Micaiah leans forward to heal a percentage of an ally’s damage in the AoE. Micaiah suffers recoil damage (25% of the recovered damage) if her heal hits the allies.
Final Smash: Great Corona and RexAura: After she casts a small magic ball flying upwards, Micaiah summons a big light magic sphere from the sky in a diagonal trajectory. If opponents are hit by the sphere they will be pulled inside, and when the sphere hits the floor and explodes they will be sent flying away.
Up Taunt: Like one of the original Micaiah’s poses, she does a bow-like pose and greets.
Side Taunt: Yune (a small orange bird) appears and flies around Micaiah. Micaiah lifts her right hand at the height of her upper body and then Yune lands there. Micaiah smiles during the animation.
Down Taunt: Micaiah’s eyes change their color to red, her hands begin to glow, and then she says something. As soon as she finishes, Micaiah closes her eyes and they’re yellow again.
Victory Animation 1: The camera focuses on Yune flying. After a brief moment, a right hand appears. Yune lands on that hand, and then the camera focuses on Micaiah’s upper body. Micaiah starts to smile and pets the little bird (based on the Radiant Dawn intro cutscene).
Victory Animation 2: Micaiah stretches her arms and starts to cast a blue light around her hands. When she stops this animation she asks, “Are you okay?” (She is performing healing magic.)
Victory Animation 3: Micaiah removes her right glove, and shows her hand and a brand on it; this brand glows a little bit. During the animation, she says: “I’m not afraid anymore.”
Loss Animation: Micaiah smiles and claps.
Kirby Hat: Kirby has long silver hair with a blue ribbon.

Jab:
- First hit: a swing with the right hand (from right to left from the point of view of the model) with her hand surrounded with light magic in the first strike.
- Second hit: the same as the first but this time using the left hand (the book is held in this hand during the animation, but doesn’t affect the range of the attack).
- Third hit: both of the previous movements forming an X motion with her arms. When they get separated they create a light explosion.

The attack is not particularly fast and has a short range but the more it is charged the more powerful it is (and the explosion will be bigger).
The move has three levels:
- Light (a simple light ball attack).
- Shine (a light magic attack with multiple hitboxes) and
- Purge (a light magic attack with a wider range; it’s the most powerful version of the move, able to kill with decent percentages).
Micaiah in Smash is similar to how she is in her own game, a squishy long-range spell caster. Her running speed is around the same as Peach's with slightly faster air speed. Imagine a whole lotta sparkles in this moveset.
Entrance: Micaiah warps in just like most of the other FE cast then strikes her battle ready pose.
Idle: 1)Micaiah brushes dust off her tome. 2) She opens the tome and starts reading it for a few seconds. 3) She holds the tome closer to her chest, looks backwards, then forwards.
Jab: 2 slaps with the tome, followed by her opening the tome with a burst of light. Pretty much Robin's jab finisher.
Ftilt: Shoulder bash, meant to represent Shove. Quick, short range, and good for getting opponents away from you.
Dtilt: Lays her hand on the ground in front, creating a small light pillar. Good for string setups.
Utilt: Pirouettes with the tome held high, shooting out a quick short range light ball projectile straight up. The tome opening also has a hitbox, but it's unlikely to hit with both the tome and the light ball.
Dash: Micaiah stops abruptly while bringing her free hand in, then jumps back as she slashes out with her hand. The jump back gets her out of range from most shield grabs, but the attack has notable endlag so it can still be punished of the opponent is quick enough.
Fsmash: Micaiah thrusts the tome forward then lets it go with her arms stretched out. The tome hovers and lets out a potent burst of light. The burst is so powerful it shoots the tome back into Micaiah's chest and she catches it with both arms. Good killmove but laggy.
Dsmash: Summons a ball of light on either side of Micaiah that drop down and explode on the ground or on whatever they come in contact with. The balls can be reflected but they shoot back up and don't usually hit Micaiah.
Usmash: Micaiah does the exact motion she does during her introductory cutscene when she raised her hand and blinded the guards. Multihit attack that is a good killmove, but is unlikely to hit people beside her unless they're tall enough and close enough.
Nair: Brings the tome close to her chest and spins, creating blades of light around her. Pretty much Zelda's nair with wider hitboxes.
Fair + Bair: Shoots out a quick ball of light forwards/backwards. A cross between Villager's Fair/Bair and Lucas' PK Fire. Thanks to Micaiah's human proportions, easy to duck under.
Dair: The tome hovers below Micaiah with its pages turning wildly. Micaiah them strikes the spine of the book with her palm, creating a burst of light from the tome. Spikes at the sweetspot (right below the tome) but quite a bit of startup.
Uair: Micaiah turns her body upwards so her back faces the ground, stretches out her arms and creates a swirling vortex of light above her. Multihit disjoint with good damage but not a kill move. Notable landing lag until the final hitbox ends.
Grab: She simply grabs with her free arm. Not much range to balance with her long range attacks.
Pummel: She hits the opponent on the head with the tome.
Fthrow: Grabs the tome with both hands and just violently whacks the opponent in the face with it. Not that strong.
Bthrow: Hits the opponent lightly with the tome, spinning them around her until they end up behind her. Micaiah them lightly places her free hand on the opponent as they're behind her and without looking, creates a burst of light from her hand that knocks the opponent away. Strongest throw but doesn't kill until high % at the edge.
Dthrow: Throws the opponent to the ground and drops a ball of light on them. Alright combo starter but Uthrow combos better.
Uthrow: Vertically sweeps upwards with her hand, hitting the opponent with a pillar of light. Good combo starter.
B: Thani. Chargable shield breaker projectile.Upon pressing B, Micaiah will do the start of the casting animation from Radiant Dawn where she holds her finger up. A small translucent ball of light then appears above her, the longer B is held the higher up the ball rises and the stronger it is. Upon letting go of B Micaiah does the twirl of the casting animation, the ball becomes more material and gains a hitbox while falling at a 45 degree angle exploding as soon as it hits something. At minimum charge the ball hits point blank range but does slightly more shield damage than Jiggs' Pound. At maximum charge the ball breaks full shields and hits down at half the distance of FD. The ball itself does alright damage and alright knockback so at max charge it's better to take the hit than get your shield broken. Useful to use in the air to pressure shields at a distance by simply tapping B. Halts your momentum in the air as you let go of B.
Side B: Purge. Upon use Micaiah sends out a tiny ball of light that travels horizontally with no hitbox and moves slowly on its own, allowing Micaiah to act shortly after casting it. Upon reaching a certain distance the ball of light explodes into a multihit attack with good damage. If Micaiah is hit at all while the ball of light is out then it disappears immediately. Using this move as it's already active removes the current ball of light for the new one.
Up B: Rewarp. Typical teleport. Range is in between Palutena's and Zelda's warp with no hitbox but windbox facing towards Micaiah at start point and away at end point, allowing for some good tricks to move foes around too.
Down B: Elsleep Counter. Counter move that sends your opponent to sleep if they're on the ground or bounces them away Bumper style if they're in the air. Used to create distance from opponents attacking from the air or to punish kill high % foes on the ground.
Final Smash: Rexaura. Micaiah freeze frames the match a creates a giant sphere of light in front of her. If any opponent is inside the sphere then the Rexaura animation plays, with the sphere exploding in a brilliant display of light magic doing heavy damage and knockback.
Taunt 1: Yune flies in from wherever and Micaiah strikes the pose from her artwork.
Taunt 2: Micaiah turns to the camera and holds the tome out in front of her while closing her eyes. The tome opens and wildly turns pages as it sparkles.
Taunt 3: Sacrifice. Micaiah gathers energy into her free hand and slowly stretches it forward, creating a single sparkle out of her hand that lasts for a few frames. In regular battles this does nothing, but in team battles if a teammate touches the sparkle they recover up to 10% as Micaiah gains what the teammate recovered.

Standard: using her free hand she fires a short reach light tendril, a second input will cause her to step forward and the light tendril whips in an upwards arc, then a third input finally Light is fully executed as a small sphere rains down tendrils in a rather short burst
Side Smash: Thani is formed a decent distance away, this projectile ignores terrain for a short distance, both the projectile and the resulting burst can deal damage, reflecting the projectile can be done yet all it does is prevent the target from being damaged
Side Tilt: she quickly generates a multi-hit light sphere than it disperses, knocking them away
Dash Attack: she skids forward, levitating Thani creates a rolling light sphere that deals multiple ticks before detonating at the end of the dash
Up Smash: Thani is formed overhead then detonated in a shockwave, this attack as moderate start-up and end-lag as it deals high damage with a large hitbox
Up Tilt: she generates a Light strand that pulls up in a diagonal arc before forming into a small glowing sphere that knocks them into the air, the Light strand deals damage and may push opponents into the glowing sphere

Down Tilt: she punts up a bit, has decent wind-up time but it knocks them up a bit diagonally
Button 2 (B):
Neutral B: Sacrifice (chargeable move that transfers percentage depending on the touched target, starting a 5% with no charge and 20% at max charge, it deals no launch force but it does have impact stun)
NOTE: On allies it will reduce the set percentage from them and increase Micaiah's, On foes it will reduce percentage from Micaiah and increase percentage on the touched target
Side+B: Farsight (she dodges with Iframes then during a moderate vulernablity she'll attack with a light flash that stuns the target based on the punished the damage the attack would have dealt, she'll then quickly dash back a considerable distance with a decent-wind down)
Down+B: Pair-Up (after a considerable wind-up she'll summon Sothe, Micaiah's next Smash attack will include a dagger strike from Sothe, Daggers deal no launch force or stun force but have good damage, If Micaiah is hit during this time, the attack is negated by Sothe)
NOTE: there's a 7-second cooldown before using this move again after any action from Sothe, for UP Smash, he throws a dagger upwards, for DOWN smash he throws two daggers in opposite directions diagonally upwards, for SIDE Smash he jumps up and throws a dagger diagonally into the Thani Detzone, this projectile also ignores terrain for a short time)
UP+B: Dashing Whisper (after a short wind-up Sothe dashes in, grabbing Micaiah, he jumps up into the chosen direction with her with considerable speed, this attack will knock foes away, dealing no damage)
NOTE: this move has no correlation to Pair-Up, He can appear to save her under any circumstance
Final Smash: Judgement (Yune flies up glowing into the center of the screen, vanishing into a blue haze, a massive tidal wave then flies in from the background, fully engulfing the screen, dealing incredible damage and launch force)

Miscellaneous stuff:
To start things off, I'll mention that I feel Micaiah should be a middle height lightweight. She should be shorter than Ike but taller than Mario and she doesn't wear armor or have heavy weapons nor is she large herself so the light weight makes sense.
For palettes, we'll assume she'll have 8. Her first would be her Light Mage outfit
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/9/9c/Micaiah_(FE10_Artwork).png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/250?cb=20160930101019
Her second outfit would be her Light Sage outfit
http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/File:Lightsage.PNG
Her third would be her Light Priestess outfit
http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/File:Ike_and_Yune_in_the_final_battle.png
Her fourth would be based on Sothe's Rogue outfit
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/3/3d/Sothe_(FE10_Artwork).png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/280?cb=20160930101401 Optional whether her hair changes colour though I'd personally keep it silver (helps since her Boxing Ring title could literally be Silver Haired Maiden although there are other names that work)
Her fifth would be based on the armor of a Daein soldier
https://youtu.be/b3yjuq4QYNk?t=29m3s
Her sixth would be based on Sanaki
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/4/44/Sanaki_Artwork_(FE10).png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/290?cb=20180502004212
Her seventh would be based on the herons Rafiel, Leanne and Reyson
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net...est/scale-to-width-down/350?cb=20170508093504
And her eighth outfit would be based on Yune
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/1/1d/Yune_Artwork_(FE10).png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/285?cb=20130113134233
I feel these 8 work rather well as they're all based on things tied to Micaiah (her 3 classes, her 'boyfriend' for lack of a better word, her countrymen, her sister, the laguz she has the closest tie to and the goddess that accompanies her) and she gets proper outfits for team battles with the Light Mage and Sanaki outfits being red, the Light Sage having blue in it and the Sothe outfit having green in it. And there's even yellow thanks to Yune's outfit.
Another potential outfit could be one based on Sephiran. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net...est/scale-to-width-down/289?cb=20151018000605 The reason for Sephiran is he is Micaiah's ancestor.
Her stage appearance could be warp magic. Unoriginal, I know since all other FE characters save for Corrin use it but it makes sense for Micaiah given that she's a mage.
One of her walk animations is based on her walk animation during chapters https://youtu.be/ig7a_nULdDc?t=4m55s The uploader changes the speed to max like a sane person afterwards so I can't show it off outside of that cutscene. Characters in Smash also have more than one walk animation so Micaiah would require some unique ones made.
Her run animation is based on her run in the opening cutscene of Radiant Dawn https://youtu.be/ig7a_nULdDc?t=3m18s
Her lying down on back animation could be based on when she gets knocked down https://youtu.be/dLoNkLC5FIU?t=21s Lying down on front animation would have to be original.
Her crouch animation would be similar to Zelda's, going off the opening cutscene of RD again. https://youtu.be/2m_-WjCdIBg?t=8m36s Micaiah would not have a crawl.
Micaiah would have low movement speed much like how she's slow in RD. Plus I envision her as having a turtler playstyle.
Sleep animation would be similar to Marth's, having Micaiah kneel down and supporting herself with her staff.
Ledge grab animation would be Micaiah holding herself up with both hands. Ledge attack would be her pulling herself up and jabbing out her staff.
Both get up attack animations would have Micaiah hit to one side and then the other with her staff.
Normal grounded attacks:
Her jab combo would be a basic 2 hit combo with her staff, the first hit being an upward swing based on Mist's staff attack animation https://youtu.be/dLoNkLC5FIU?t=9m16s and the second hit would be a higher up hit based on the regular staff attack animation. https://youtu.be/dLoNkLC5FIU?t=6m18s This jab would be like Samus' where it doesn't connect fully until higher percents, the first hit would knock the opponent up while the second knocks them away, allowing Micaiah to continue attacking from afar with her spells. One could also choose not to do the second hit to attempt to follow up into a different attack.
Her forward tilt would have her turn her staff to make the bottom face the same direction she's facing and have her jab it outwards. This tilt would be primarily for trying to keep the opponent out so Micaiah could continue to attack at long range. Could also lead to tech chase scenarios, especially with Purge.
Her down tilt would be a kick, similar to Zelda's or Ryu's strong down tilt and would pop the opponent up, allowing for combos.
Her up tilt would be a quick swipe upwards with her staff, being a decently disjointed hitbox to anti air with and having low enough endlag to allow for combos at low percents. Horizontal range would be poor but would cover directly in front of and behind her.
Her smash attack charging animations could be based on her critical animations https://youtu.be/dLoNkLC5FIU?t=31s
Forward smash would be Micaiah casting Shine in front of her. There would be a sweetspot at the middle of the spell and as the move spreads outwards, it would get weaker.
Down smash would be her casting 2 Light or Ellight spells on both sides of her (so think Megaman's down smash but the hitboxes start above Micaiah and come down beside her).
Up smash is similar to Mewtwo's but a single hit instead of multihit. Based on the spell she uses in the opening cutscene of Radiant Dawn https://youtu.be/ig7a_nULdDc?t=3m5s
Dash attack would be a twirl before striking with the staff. Specifically thinking a backhand strike with it as that seems the quickest and most natural option out of a twirl. Would have a short burst as she starts the twirl before quickly stopping.
Aerials:
Neutral air would be a quick twirl as Micaiah releases light magic, hitting all around her. Would have a semi spike angle.
Forward air would be an overhead swing with the staff complete with Micaiah doing a somersault (think Rosalina's forward air but in the opposite direction).
Back air would have her strike behind her with the butt end of her staff. Thinking something like Pit's back air but with more range.
Up air would be a quick light spell, appearing a decent distance above Micaiah before finishing. Due to the nature of this move, if it's done while she's falling, it'll end roughly where she was (less so if she's fast falling) and if she's jumping while she uses it, the spell will actually envelope her as the spell forms above and descends before ending.
Down air would be a downward vertical swing with the staff with the tip of the staff having a meteor effect. Think similar animation to Ike's, Roy's and King Dedede's down air. Rest of the staff would send horizontally away.
Specials:
Her neutral special would be magic charging like Robin's but she won't have weapon durability to deal with and the spells will behave like they do in RD, coming from above at specific distances. The spells she would use are Light at first then Ellight then Thani and lastly Purge. Light would be a simple, quick single hit that would hit very close to in front of Micaiah and would just knock the opponent away. Ellight would be a multihit that would hit a little further away but would send the opponent towards Micaiah, allowing for combos. Thani would hit around the same range as Ellight, would be a single hit and would either ignore shields like the customs for Little Mac's side special and Meta Knight's down special or would do heavy shield damage. Purge would hit the furthest away and would take the longest to cast. During the casting animation, a reticle would appear at the Ellight/Thani range and can be moved further away from Micaiah if needed to hit enemies further away. Because the spells follow the RD animations, they can be used while onstage to hamper opponents offstage or can be used while Micaiah is on a platform to hamper those below her.
Side special could be a few things. It could be Silence where Micaiah uses it at a certain range and if it connects with the opponent, they lose access to their specials for a short time. It could be Sleep, being basically the same thing but putting the opponent to sleep instead. Would have no effect on aerial opponents. It could also be Rescue, putting a unique twist on the staff by using it as an offensive move to force the opponent close to Micaiah. There's also the option for the move to cycle between these options at random or in a specific order like Peach's forward smash. If customs come back, these other options could be her customs. To clarify on the Rescue idea, I know I put emphasis on Micaiah being a long range fighter and so bringing the opponent closer may sound counterintuitive but there are some characters that would do a better job camping than Micaiah which would force her to approach. The Rescue staff could help with this. I'm also thinking she could do some cool combos like ftilt to send the opponent away, Rescue to bring them back while still in hitstun and then something like jab or up tilt or whatever to finish or extend the combo.
Her up special would be Rewarp, making it similar to Palutena's, Mewtwo's and Zelda's up specials. If that's deemed too similar to the others, a hitbox could be added to her reappearance (but not her initial warp) either as a simple means of defense against those who attempt to hit her out of her recovery or as a tricky means of offense.
Down special would be Rescue/Guard. Basically, Micaiah would defend herself with her staff and if she's hit, Sothe will warp to her, take the hit and slash at the opponent. In other words, a fancy looking counter. Unoriginal in concept but in execution, it's not just another 'enter a fancy stance and then hit the opponent' and it actually has proper context given the bond Micaiah and Sothe have.
Her Final Smash would be a variation of Robin's. She would use the Rescue staff to bring Sothe to her who would then dash forward a distance before either hitting an opponent or warping away, similar to what Chrom does. After the initial hit, Sothe would slash at the opponent repeatedly while Micaiah charges up Rexaura before having the spell hit the opponent. Additional effects that could be added are the screen blacking out and slashing animations appearing before the spell brightens up the screen again to reference Sothe's Bane and a small but neat detail that could be added is Micaiah having red eyes like when Yune takes over her body.
Grabs and throws:
Micaiah would grab with magic much like Robin as she will always have a tome and a staff inhand. Could possibly give her a tether grab with the Rescue staff or even a disjointed grab where the grab box doesn't appear next to her but rather a distance away, much like Robin's Distant Nosferatu custom, putting further emphasis on Micaiah excelling at long range combat and not doing well at close range. If that's too much of a hindrance, she could have a small normal grab range along with her disjointed Rescue grab or she could just have a proper grab with magic.
Pummel would be unique. Pressing attack while grabbing an opponent will have Micaiah use Nosferatu, healing herself and damaging the opponent. This would be a slow pummel due to the value of healing. The damage and therefore healing rate could be anywhere from 1-3% or could scale based on Micaiah's percent and her opponent's much like how Robin's down special works. To further make her pummel special, pressing special while grabbing an opponent will have Micaiah use Sacrifice on them, healing the opponent and damaging Micaiah herself.
An adorable idea I had for her forward throw would be a clumsy push. This would be based on the opening cutscene of RD and would show how she isn't much of a physical fighter. https://youtu.be/2m_-WjCdIBg?t=8m43s
Back throw could either be using magic to powerfully send the opponent away like Robin, Ness and Mewtwo or she could send the opponent behind her before jabbing them with the end of her staff.
I have two ideas for down throw. One is where she puts the opponent onto the ground and twists the bottom of her staff onto the opponent before they're launched. The other is having her slam the opponent into the ground as she uses Rescue on Sothe to have him land on the opponent either with a stomp or a slash before he warps out.
Her up throw would have her throw the opponent up as she sticks her staff up, having the opponent land on the staff as she thrusts it up.
Shield and dodges:
Her shield animation would have her hold her staff up to attempt to defend herself and optionally, she could equip the Ward staff when she shields.
Her back roll animation would be based on this dodge animation https://youtu.be/pqpBe2JhuKw?t=6m4s The uploader does curse shortly after she dodges so here's your warning~
I couldn't find a video showing it but Micaiah also has a dodge animation where she twirls. That could be her forward roll and spot dodge.
Air dodge would be a twirl similar to her spot dodge and forward roll.
Taunts and victory animations:
One of her taunts could be her bow after killing an enemy from Radiant Dawn https://youtu.be/ig7a_nULdDc?t=6m3s
Another taunt could be Yune flying around her as she twirls before Yune flies back to her
Her last taunt could be based on her twirl animation when she first enters a battle https://youtu.be/dLoNkLC5FIU?t=46s
Alternatively, she could have a taunt where she sings a galdr https://youtu.be/lt7Dy-uUhIc?t=5h48m33s would have to be shortened down. Some of these could work as victory animations instead.
One immediate victory animation that comes to mind would be Sothe with Micaiah, standing back to back and looking at the camera.
Another victory animation for Micaiah could be her engulfing herself in blue flames before ending in a calmer pose or a badass one. Could even pull a Toon Link and have two victory animations, both having her engulf in flames but with the different poses. This would reference the cutscene before the final blow to Ashera is dealt. https://youtu.be/9BI4lYVuWRc?t=18m33s
A vídeo with every Light tome in Fire Emblem would be a great addition.
______
Legacy content and other lore posts.
- Micaiah is the main character to one of the most recent games of the Fire Emblem franchise, with this being the first possible game for her to be eligible, it would make sense that she has at least a chance to be a part of the newest Super Smash Bros. Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn may have also been the most recent new Fire Emblem release world wide before the roster for the new game was chosen.
- Micaiah is a Fire Emblem main character that uses magic, something that barely any if any at all mains from Fire Emblem do. Being that she is not a sword user, she would be a perfect character to use to represent the non-sword users of the Fire Emblem franchise, a large group of characters that have no representation in Super Smash Bros.
- While some may disagree, it would seem that we are to get more female characters this time around with the inclusion of WFT, Rosalina, and most likely (if the leak is true) Palutena. Adding someone to represent the amazing females of Fire Emblem is something I feel needs to happen, and Micaiah is the perfect person for the job. Also for the argument of "Palutena and Micaiah are both light users" Micaiah also can use dark magic and anima magic, which could give her variation.
- Fire Emblem has an opportunity to get 4 Fire Emblem characters. With the planned including of three (Marth, Ike, and Roy) in SSBB, it would make sense to think that Fire Emblem, with it's recent boom in popularity, would make sense to get a fourth representative. If Sakurai wants to have four, he could always put in the "obligatory Awakening rep" as well as a fourth representative from another game. Since Radiant Dawn is the most new game (non-remake) of the series, I would say Micaiah would be the best option if they decided to have four characters with an Awakening obligation.
- It seems like those who have appeared on Wii titles are getting the priority right now. Animal Crosser was decided to be put in with his new game being City Folk, Wii Fit Trainer is clearly from the Wii, Little Mac was revived on the Wii, Rosalina debuted on the Wii, and even Mega Man stayed realevent with Nintendo having many of his classic games on the Virtual Console. Micaiah is from Radiant Dawn, one of the best rated Wii games published by Nintendo. It wouldn't be crazy if they wanted her to represent the Wii just as Ike represented one of the better
- rated GCN games.
Is Micaiah really a Mary Sue?
Micaiah, the controversial main character from Radiant Dawn was and is accused of being a Mary Sue for whatever reason. We're here to show you that actually she ISN'T a Mary Sue and why.
First we need to understand the basic elements that make up a Mary Sue, these are five elements:
1.- They are a selfinsertion, usually an idealised vision of th author.
We can't really answer this honestly, we would have to interview the storyboard writer to get that detail and even then, I don't think this is the case so we can discard this point.
2.- Are overpowered in everything, they know everything, they can do everything.
Micaiah has some abilities because her Laguz heritage, Sacrifice: She can heal allies but she has to give her own life force, she can't abuse this ability, it has a price she has to pay, it's not something she can do whenever she wants, it has a cost.
Galrds: As an apostol she can sing the galrd of release to free Yune from the Lehran Medallion, she also serves as an avatar for the Goddess.
All of these abilities are her role in the story and it doesn't really give her an edge or an advantage over the other characters
She also has foresight abilities, but they aren't exactly precise and are threated in a vague way, so the advantage she gains over enemies with this ability is really not that spectacular or cool.
3.- All characters adore her regardless of what she does
Everyone? At the begining it makes sense for her to be adorered, she became a symbol of hope in Daein, a thing that escalated once she was put in charge of Pellea's group, a comander of noble heart and one that risks her life in the heat of battle, that is a quality to be admired and something that many Lords in the franchise have.
Now on the subject of the Beorc and Laguz war...
Even thought no one deserted from the army and remained by choice, there is always people questioning Micaiah's decisions, with the exception of generic soldiers which don't really hold much plot relevance and already hate the Laguz Alliance to begin with.
Micaiah goes from being a savior to a figure to characters the game threats it as such, the game does not sugarcoat her actions.
In the end all was explained with the Blood Pact which does put them into a thight spot, but in no way the game portray or excuses Micaiah's actions as a story with a Mary Sue would, you are free to decide wheter her actions are good or bad or if she did the right thing by going with it instead of looking for a plan C, there is no definitive answer in that regard.
4.- Ultra Tragic Past, the more tragic the better.
Micaiah is a branded like Soren, but unlike him, Micaiah experienced more loneliness than rejection like Soroen did.
Making her life a bitter and miserable, but not as tragic as other branded characters had it.
5.- The story is molded to the Mary Sue's advantage, without care for the consistence.
To Micaiah's advantage? The only thing than we see "convenient" to her is Yune's revelation, that managed to unify the 3 groups, but that was neccesary, and it was beneficial for everyone, not just Micaiah.
And that's it, there aren't other elements in the story that can be seen as "especially convinient for Micaiah".
