Nintendude:
At Cedar Point with Mr. F, Swedish Delight, Neha, MikeMelee, and CTL, convinces everyone to go on a water ride claiming it would only be a splash. The entire party ends up getting completely drenched by several waterfalls. At the end of the ride, there was a family drying station that costs $5. Everyone said Nintendude should pay for it, but he said it would do nothing and is not worth it. When Neha ends up paying for it, Nintendude uses it to dry his socks and shoes anyway.

Will be organized in some temporal or language order later.

Disclaimer: Telephone effect exaggerates stories

Chu:
  • Charges exorbitant electricity fee
  • Says that he will not attend the Mortality tournament, attends anyway and makes SoPo legal in mid-tier due to "popular demand" and then wins.
  • Demands a match reset after being comboed by Thumbs due to not being a neutral start
  • Asks DoH for a neutral start after realizing the first turnip pulled was a stitchface
  • Asks Nintendude to throw a match at TFP in exchange for a split after losing to him in winners
  • Continues to plank with Kirby after far exceeding and knowing of the ledgegrab limit
  • Planks Seagull for an entire match to win without a ledgegrab limit rule, when Jesse wanted to give the win to Seagull, insists that the match be replayed and then wins
  • Agrees to do a double moneymatch with Thumbs, one in Melee and one in Brawl, loses to Thumbs in Melee, but no setups to do the Brawl moneymatch. Brings the Brawl moneymatch up years later, even though Thumbs hasn't played it for over a year, forces him to play and wins.
  • Manipulates Nintendude into playing a Samus ditto to give him an edge and loses anyway
  • Instead of going to the local Pound V.5, goes to Ohio to win free money and loses to Hanky Panky instead.
  • Skips out on The Big House 4 to play Smash 4 at the Gamestop tournament for a potential robe, trophy, and trip to NY, but loses, and pesters the winner for 20 minutes to take him to NY.
  • Takes 5 minutes to decide a counterpick against Lazarond
  • Wobbles Omni to 300%
  • Brings $100 bill to pay for tournament
  • Calls TOs beforehand to find out who's in attendance so he can figure out whether he will have an easy time winning or not, and decides whether to attend based on that information.
  • When running his house biweeklies, would sometimes not pay entry fee.
  • Would let his cousins enter Brawl tournaments at his house for free.
  • If Tope was in the tournament, Chu would "lose" to Chillin so he could fight Tope, but if someone like g-reg was waiting in LFs he would "win"
  • When playing in his own tournaments, would sometimes decide mid-set that Wobbling was legal so that he could dispatch more difficult opponents.
  • While losing to Jrugs in game 3 of brawl at Xanadu, the power cut out. Chu argued that the match should be replayed, while Jrugs argued to play from exact timer/stock/percentage count (since he remembered them all). After 30 minutes of solid debate, the TO agreed with Jrugs, and Chu won anyway.
  • When Luckay was too tired to play out Brawl Grand finals at Shell Shocked XIV and asked to split, with Luckay coming from Winners, Chu said he would only split if he could have first place.
  • Asked for a pause mid-match so he could ask if there was a ledge grab limit.
  • When College Park offered a venue for him because he wasn't allowed to use his house anymore to hold his tournaments, he still charged a $1 venue fee.
  • Leaves Shell Shocked XVIII when seeing that Moon, DJN, DruggedFox, SwedishDelight, and s0ft were in the singles bracket.
  • At Smashtality 3, asks Nintendude for a moneymatch proclaiming "I need money to buy a drink."
  • Gives DoH a ride to the tourney, but when he had to leave to catch the metro, balks saying that it's too much effort, then tries to give him an uber promo code even though he's been using uber for three years, decided to give him a ride but only after he already called his uber and it's 3 minutes away, and then doesn't give DoH back his controller which Chu uses to get top 8 at EVO
  • Nintendude asks for a neutral start. As the match begins, Chu tries to attack. When Nintendude calls him out for it, Chu says "You didn't give me a neutral start last time" when he didn't even ask for one.
  • Tweets about beating Chillin at a local without mentioning the detail of Chillin winning game 1 but forfeit due to wrist issues.
  • When running for Summit, dodges Zain's challenge for a money match. Proceeds to say that Zain has "no chance of getting into Summit" because "MD/VA is so disorganized and they all hate each other
Chillin:
  • Shows up late to tournament, misses pools, offers to take someone's place in bracket after pools have been played, and then gets mad at Nintendude for getting him DQed
  • Moneymatches Duck at Big House 1 expecting to win, and after losing, tells Duck he doesn't have the money
  • When Duck reminds him at Big House 2 about the money owed, challenges someone else in a money match to get money to pay Duck.
  • Spills drink all over JCaesar's laptop
  • Complains when he and Chu are not on opposite sides of bracket
  • Tries to play winner's bracket matches earlier so he has more time to smoke
  • Throws sets against Chu so Chu can beat DoH with Young Link
  • Habitually late, and then uses status to delay tournaments until he arrives
  • Used his star power to convince TheCrimsonBlur to let him set up the tournament at the end of smash house differently while not understanding the format, totally ruining one of the most "complete" MDVA tournaments to date.
  • Uses his star power to influence the layout of a bracket while cautiously trying to manipulate the player matchups to favor him.
  • Invites Milkman to his house, and Milkman shows up 10 minutes early. Calls Milkman and says he's at McDonalds and asks if he wants anything. Milkman asks for a hot fudge sundae. Chillin returns 20 minutes later, making Milkman wait in blistering cold, and doesn't have the sundae.
  • At Smash Summit 12, decides to enter VIP bracket last minute. Tells Nintendude to seed him low because he is going Falco/Samus secondaries, then plays Fox against Dr. Z. When facing Nintendude later, complains that he was seeded too low.
Cyrain:
  • Throws match to Chillin to increase odds of eliminating Vist
  • 1-2 year period when he was claimed to be the best in the region, but hadn't been sober at a tournament in ages because there "wasn't any competition"
  • Invites Milkman to come over, ends up completely passed out when Milkman arrives. Milkman waits outside for an hour before Cyrain reveals that his front door was unlocked.
Milkman:
  • Calls TOs to hold the tournament because he's only ten minutes away, but in actuality is twenty or thirty minutes away.
  • Was supposed to go to Chilin's house with Cyrain before rush hour, but was passed out and not answering his phone, forcing them to wait out rush hour.
  • When Frostbyte posted that Bradday was in the hospital after a car accident and asked if anyone knew if Bradday was alright, responded "probably tried to kill himself when he heard wobbling was banned"
Redd:
  • Offers to Moneymatch people, refuses one from Mahone.

DoH:
  • In shoes-off apartment, when leaving, puts on shoes, states that he has to use the bathroom, and proceeds to walk to the bathroom in shoes
  • Misses last metro and asks for a ride home
  • Only goes to out of state tournaments if he can team with a top player that can get him money

Plank:
  • Hosts world's largest international "smashfest"
  • Posted publicly that he wants to carpool to an OoS tournament with MD/VA players, but kept the name of the tournament secret for fear of increased competition.
  • When preparing to play HAT, HAT picks black Sheik. Plank proceeds to rip out HAT's controller and picks black Sheik.

Boss...:
  • Uses other people's controllers without asking...
  • When commentating on VGBC, says "My mom said to never go down the same alley you just got *****"...
  • Pays for tournament entry in coins...
  • Pays for a $4 pizza with $10, gets $12 change back and keeps it...
Korn:
  • Only enters convention tournaments and doesn't tell anyone

Nintendude:
  • Wobbles scrubs at Otakon tournament
  • Wins $4000 of government money at an obscure convention tournament
  • Makes DoH wait 20 minutes in sub-freezing temperatures because he was late to picking him up from the metro, which is two minutes away
  • Tells Plank that he won't wobble, wobbles him anyway.
  • In an out of state tournament, coached opponents of MD/VA players.
  • During Smash League, asked Vist if he wanted to make their next tournament game a gym battle, but Vist didn't want to get involved with SL. Because you cannot refuse (Vist didn't know the rules) Nintendude reported a win even though it was never explained to Vist.
  • Plays friendlies against DoH with Sheik, claiming it's for PM practice. Beats him with Sheik in Melee right afterwards.
  • At Cedar Point with Mr.
  • While at Xanadu, plays his first two rounds as autopilot Peach while in a call with Twitch listening through his headphones, pretending he is just listening to music.
  • "it's not a plus one until you find the convo and screencap it"
  • Borrows Zhu's staff badge to take food into TBH6. When told this is going on the Grime PR, he said "OK."

Mahone:
  • Offers Chu and Chillin a ride to Zenith with the intent of backing out in the last minute
  • Gets Fortune to mod him in the MD/VA Mele group and proceeds to unmod all the other mods

SypherPhoenix:
  • Permanently changes the URL of MD/VA's Facebook group to "MDVAMele" after Nintendude suggests to change it to something meaningful.

ThumbsWayUp:
  • Tells his friend Mike to bring Mike's Hard Lemonade to Shell Shocked X, making that venue unable to be used for years

CTL:
  • Obtained grime from Michigan
  • Endorses Grime PRs for other regions
  • Made bracket quadruple elimination because he felt like it
  • Falcon Punches upcoming players every stock
  • Goes for offstage rest on his teammate in tournament
  • Registers for Big House 5 stating he will bring -1 CRTs
  • Waits until the cheapest meal before taking his turn to pay the bill for everyone.
  • Uses superior chopstick strength to steal KBBQ meat from Juggleguy's hold.

AmKhokar:

  • Hosts ECE, but takes 2 hour "smoke breaks" when the tournament actually needs someone to direct things.
  • Attempts and incorrectly draws double elimination bracket by hand
  • Plans ECE at the same time as Shell Shocked

Laijin:
  • Excessively trolls on Facebook

Vist:
  • Enters Xanadu weeklies, then leaves early, ruining seeding
  • Holds up his carpool to ShuffleV for 2 hours without any way of contacting him, then backs out

GIMR:
  • Bans people from VGBC for a month if they get 8 stocked
  • Has the worst Twitch chat community
  • Does not upload him losing to Brown Shirt at the 11/26 Xanadu

DP:
  • Refuses to shake hands of people who he thinks are bad
  • When he and TC were playing a teams match against Zero and Bones at a Xanadu monthly and they took DP's last stock in the last game of the set, he unplugged and walked away leaving TC to 1v2 the other team. No hands were shaken after the game.

JCaesar:
  • Abuses new changes to pre-beta P:M releases to win money at tournaments

Scrapmettle:
  • Challenged Lock to a gym battle when Lock was about to leave, so Lock said to postpone it to the next Clarendon, but it got cancelled. Lock then went to Sypher's, which Scrapmettle usually attends, but did not. As Lock had to leave for Singapore, Scrapmettle then claims he wins the gym battle "by default."

TheTantalus:
  • When the Facebook group URL was changed, lied about the production of business cards that had a correctly spelled URL on them to convince others that somehow things were now ruined.

Fortune (RIP):
  • After landing a rest on SG, accidentally unplugs his controller from the hype. When SG pauses so Fortune can replug in his controller, Fortune calls the pause rule on SG and tells him to SD. When inquired about it after the set, says "I don't care about sportsmanship"
Dutchguy
  • When he and ~20% were playing friendlies, Bouyer plugged in his controller and told them to wait. Dutch didn't care and proceeded to start another match after finishing.
  • Tells ARisingShadow he had to play PM to get him off the mic so Dutch could commentate
Taj Sullivan
  • Went to WWE and sat upfront and held a sign up on Monday night RAW that said "Plank, where is my Pound 5 money?"
Mada Jr
  • Virally humiliates Peanutphobia by exposing his poor homework habits
SG
  • Goes to bitcamp (a hackathon), hustles a random in a $20 Moneymatch, then leaves.
Jacecomix
  • Posts a picture of a CRT on MDVAMele asking if it belonged to Sypher, and when Sypher confirmed, Jacecomix said he is keeping it forever.
BigWenz
  • During the Dutch's (Amsah, Remen, Faab) visit during Pound 5, while getting food at Chipotle, convinces them that you can fill your water cup with soft drinks
  • Uses HugS's carryon space to put his bag and refuses to move it so he could have more leg space
Aposl
  • Includes a roll of 50 pennies in Xanadu payout.
Drug/kidneybeans/Brown Shirt/First Year/UMD|Stokes' Thm/repfigit
  • Has far too many tags
  • At University of Delaware, would put a sheet of paper to keep the back door to the largest performing hall from locking so he can use the Steinway inside at late hours
Llod
  • While facing a double DK team on KJ64, after taking out four of the other team's stocks, discovers that he is still at 0%. He then tells his partner, Smashgod, to 2v1 them while he camps so he can end the match with 0%. Llod and Smashgod end up JV9ing the team.
  • Went Zelda after winning game 1 against Cuck Daddy in doubles to mock him, but after losing 2 stocks, quickly switched back to Sheik and chaingrabbed
Axel Camacho
  • Charges Poyo $50 for a one-way trip to Xanadu from Oxon Hill.
Fendrick Lamar
  • Tells CTL he'll netplay, but then forgets about it for two hours.
  • After finding out Iron Age had an hour wait, goes in and takes a cone of free ice cream and then goes to Honey Pig.
  • Gets free dessert from a hibachi place when his girlfriend lies that it was his birthday
The Brig
  • Starts a match while ~20% was plugging in his controller after he'd been waiting
KVN
  • Refuses to shake hands with Freeze, and when confronted later, tells Freeze to "**** off" (Freeze is 13 years old.)

Parker "May"
  • Banned from WM Facebook group for asking the TOs to change the date of an event because he needed to walk his dog that day
  • Asks people to hold up bracket for 15 minutes even though it takes 4 hours to get to WM from VT and never attended a WM event anyway
  • Always offers to report his sets, but reports 0-2 losses as 1-2 and 2-1 wins as 2-0
  • Challenged Reslived to a Bo1 $5 MM, but unbeknownst to Reslived, changed all the controls on the "Amnda" tag to taunt or do nothing. When the match started and Reslived couldnt move, Parker continued comboing him as if nothing was wrong and ignored his complaints. When Devin tried to reset his controller and accidentally shut off the setup, Parker demanded $5 because Devin had 'forfeited"
  • Convinced Cuck Daddy's friend group to sand bag against his ZSS in friendlies so he would accept Parker's Ft5 $20 MM. After Cuck Daddy won 5 straight games, Parker convinced him that they only played four matches and needed to play another one, causing a 6-0 in a Ft5. Parker didn't actually have the money and had to convince someone else to Fox ditto
  • MMed Cuck Daddy for a Coors light in a Bo3, but after every game, claimed it didn't count because Parker was warming up, because the TV was too bright, because his controller made a weird noise, etc. Cuck Daddy ended up winning 7-2 in a Bo3 and Parker told all of their friends that Cuck Daddy stole Parker's beer.
  • Asked to play PM at Cuck Daddy's place and agreed to be over in 15 minutes. 45 minutes later, Cuck Daddy realized Parker was in Florida and was just trying to waste time. When brought up in the group chat, Parker laughed that Cuck Daddy believed he was coming over. 15 minutes later, Parker arrived at Cuck Daddy's place.
  • Lost an Ironman to Cuck Daddy for the right to say "Maymay," so he enters events as "May | May"
  • Requests CTL to remove his last name from this thread in fear of employers finding it

Zain
  • After going up 2-1 on Jerry, ices Jerry by accidentally unplugging the setup.
Bird
  • After a 3 year Melee drought, Bird ended DC's first weekly at only it's 4th iteration. He ate a bunch of edibles, convinced himself that he had been poisoned, and called the cops on himself, leaving the venue unusable.
bobbybigballz
  • Regularly ****talks MD/VA to other regions
Xanadu
  • Changed the qualification rules of the Xanadu Championship Series part of the way through without announcing it
Ibuprofen
  • Says she'll take over running UMD Smash club, then backs out and doesn't help with the club at all Asks to be made treasurer of UMD Smash club. Stalls on all of her responsibilites, then quits halfway through the semester without telling anyone, effectively holding up the club for a year
Cool Lime
  • When campaigning for Summit 8, scares n0ne by saying his dad owns a Costco and will give a 50k spirit bomb, causing n0ne to stream for 16 hours until his fingers bleed. After voting, says he was just kidding and gloats about how a high schooler scared a ~30 y.o. man from taking a spot in a tournament.
Icey Mojo
  • Seeds tournaments so that he dodges Peach players and other players he loses to.

Hmm, i'll have to think of some

The @Coney $100 incident sticks out in my mind, as well as Chu's stolen birthday wii, and the guy who tripped over @SOVAman 's wii at C3 and broke it, he's a yugioh player iirc

+1 ThumbsWayUp

Beats a new Melee player in a friendly by KO'ing only with Falcon's up smash, after being challenged to do so by a crowd monster.

This thread is pretty good, but I think you've missed a lot of good ones. Also, the Chu/thumbs story has the games reversed. When Brawl was new and thumbs still played it, he had the double MM agreement with Chu and beat Chu in Melee. At a Melee tournament a couple years later (SSIX or X) Chu brought it up and kept pestering him to play Chu in a Brawl MM, which thumbs quit playing not too long after their MM agreement. So, Chu was actually trying to get him to MM in a game that thumbs hadn't played in over a year.

Chu:
Chillin:
  • Used his star power to convince TheCrimsonBlur to let him set up the tournament at the end of smash house differently while not understanding the format, totally ruining one of the most "complete" MDVA tournaments to date.
  • Claims to know theory behind bracket creation, uses his star power to influence the layout of a bracket while cautiously trying to manipulate the player matchups to favor him.
Boss:
  • Pays for tournament entry in coins.
Cyrain:
  • 1-2 year period when he was claimed to be the best in the region, but hadn't been sober at a tournament in ages because there "wasn't any competition"
MilkMan:
  • Calls TOs to hold the tournament because he's only ten minutes away, but in actuality is twenty or thirty minutes away.
Nintendude:
  • Creates Smash League with Lock to encourage players to go to tournaments and have serious sets with one another. Gets angry when Nothern VA players go to too many tournaments.
  • Followed Chu and Chillin into the bathroom after a tournament to catch them splitting, and subsequently tried to report Chillin to Curse.
  • When the Facebook group URL changed, attempted to start a new Facebook group as a replacement. Still maintains the new group and refuses to acknowledge the old (bigger & more popular) one, directing all new players to the eSports control group.
Plank:
  • Posted publicly that he wants to carpool to an OoS tournament with MD/VA players, but kept the name of the tournament secret for fear of increased competition.
AmKhokar:
  • Hosts ECE, but takes 2 hour "smoke breaks" when the tournament actually needs someone to direct things.
Tantalus:
  • When the Facebook group URL was changed, lied about the production of business cards that had a correctly spelled URL on them to convince others that somehow things were now ruined.
  • Banned Mahone from Xanadu because he posted something mean online.

Lol, thanks Max, for the extra stories. I'm going to keep some of the questionable point of view ones off the main list, but people are still free to scroll down to read yours.

Well, I don't know if anything I've written is really questionable in the context of the thread, especially considering you have things like Boss being non-PC on vgbc and Laijin trolling. I think the thread is way funnier if you ditch things that aren't actually bm (like everything under you and GIMR) and not-so-bad tendencies without direct examples (like DP not shaking hands). You could write,
DP:
Refuses to shake Nintendude's hand after sets because he thinks wobbling is broken.
or
Refuses to shake Nintendude's hand after sets because he thinks he's better than Nintendude.

Single-sided, slightly spun, but still mostly correct and probably what everyone out of region thinks.

OK so in Michigan, the way you give someone a grime point is to do something like:
+1 CTL

Makes a grime thread where people call out other players, but softly censors points he finds too controversial

Have you read Michigan's thread? Many of those things are pretty exaggerated but I'm not grimy enough to go that far yet. Maybe a few more months in MI.

OH. One of my favorite stories about Chu. Let's see if i can do this correctly:

+1 Chu
While losing to Jrugs in game 3 of brawl at Xanadu, the power cut out. Chu argued that the match should be replayed, while Jrugs argued to play from exact timer/stock/percentage count (since he remembered them all). After 30 minutes of solid debate, the TO agreed with Jrugs, and Chu won anyway.

adding one more

+1 Chu
When Luckay was too tired to play out Brawl Grand finals at Shell Shocked XIII, when Luckay asked to split, with Luckay coming from Winners, Chu said he would only split if he could have first place.

Grime +1 for seagull claiming it was too cold to play smash 4 outside, then won matches against boss and gimr in lag
It was also raining...Why would I willingly want to play in the rain? It was laggy everywhere because it's Wi-Fi.

My matches against Boss were not laggy at all. Gimr had one moment of a lag spike.

For the one about Chu passing up Big House 4 for GameStop, you can add that after losing anyway, he pestered the guy who did win to bring him along to NY as his guest for at least twenty minutes.

With the most recent grime that has been happening, I decided to have a highlighted grime section to show everyone the latest grimiest news.

Top Bottom
