The Official Alternate Costumes Thread (Everyone has 8 Colors + New Info from Japanese Event!)

Samus: Fusion Suit, Dark Suit, Light Suit, PED Suit (alt costumes as alt colors)

Not all characters should get alt costumes. In my opinion these are the only ones I see suitable (pun intended) for having them.

Sakurai did state that he doesn't like the idea of costumes that change the characters identity because he feels that it would "take away from the character." So I don't expect any character changing costumes.

I do like the idea of Armored Mewtwo, since shiny Mewtwo is technically only the green team Mewtwo.

Luigi doesn't need the Dr Luigi outfit, he deserves Mr L first and foremost

Bowser should be Dry Bowser, Meowser was technically a power up.

Peach should be anything BUT PG Peach from Mario Kart 8

King Dedede deserves the masked appearance, as well as Dark Meta Knight.

Marth would be fun to have the Lucina mask and hair

Mega man would be hysterically awesome as an original sprite with Mr G&W movements

Sonic would go mecha, if not werewolf

Don't really like the idea of Armored Mewtwo or Mecha Sonic. It would be fun to see Marth with long hair, though. And they could have Pink Gold Peach for when she hits a metal box. Also really like your idea for Mega Man as an 8-Bit sprite, as he moves and acts just like him.

I really only care about having Dr. Mario, Dry Bowser, the Link and Samus suits, and Justin Bailey. If they could put all those in I'd be a happy camper.

Mr. L is a common alternate costume request for Luigi, he is also a selectable alternate costume for Luigi in Project M.

DR. LUIGI (Dr. Luigi)

Dr. Luigi is a doctor persona of Luigi in the same vain of Dr. Mario being a separate persona of Mario. Dr. Luigi first began his medical career on January 1st of 2014. Perhaps Dr. Luigi could throw L-Megavitamins instead of green fireballs when this costume is in use.

CASINO LUIGI (Super Mario 64 DS / New Super Mario Bros.)

In Super Mario 64 DS, each playable character had a collection of minigames for the player to play. Luigi's minigames were all based on card games and he was seen wearing this outfit. While not nearly as requested or even mentioned as other potential choices, who wouldn't want to beat up foes while looking this classy?

VARIOUS POWER-UPS (Various titles)

Much like Mario, Luigi has a plethora of costumes he has worn while utilizing various power ups in the Mario franchise. As of right now the only confirmed one is Fire Luigi, but there many more that are available to him that would easily work as other alternate costume choices.[/collapse]

Personally, I'd prefer Rosalina's Beta design as an alt.

It could look really nice if it was made into 3D.

I'd like it if one or more of the main Animal Crossing NPCs could appear as an alternate for Villager. Although it would probably be even harder than making the male WFT. As far as I know, the male WFT looks like the most dramatically changed model for an alternate costume.

Initially, I had considered including Lucina as one of Marth's alternate costumes. After all, she has a close relationship with him in FE:A. In such cases, even if two characters' names and voices differ, as long as they function the same way, I assign them as alternate costumes. The Wii Fit Trainers, Villagers, and Robin are examples of this setup.

This may mean good things for Dark Pit and Daisy.

Princess Daisy is the princess of Sarasaland, but she currently resides in the Mushroom Kingdom. Daisy played as the damsel in Super Mario Land and was designed by Miyamoto's mentor Gunpei Yokoi. Daisy has appeared in numerous Mario titles since her conception and has been in every Nintendo-made Mario Kart since her debut in Double Dash, even having a baby persona of hers join the race in Mario Kart Wii.
Peach has previously had a palette based on Daisy in both games. But maybe Daisy will be selectable all on her own like the likes of Fem!Villager, Male!Wii Fit Trainer, and Fem!Robin?

SPORTY PEACH (Various Titles)

Peach has always been playable in all of the various Mario sports game, but she dons a much shorter dress rather than a full dress when playing a majority of them. She also puts her hair in a ponytail when she doesn't want it to get in her eyes.
There is an alternate variant of this costume where she wears shorts instead.

There is also one more variation that would really complement Mario's NES Open tournament costume.

NURSE PEACH (Dr. Mario)

Mario and Luigi aren't the only ones who've practiced medicine, Nurse Peach tends to help out every now and then (although, she's only reaaally helped Mario). This potential alternate costume choice would be nice complement to have with the doctor variants of the Mario Brothers.

SHADOW PEACH (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door)

Shadow Peach is a possessed Princess Peach. She acts as the final boss of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Shadow Peach, like Mr. L, is arguably one of the most requested alternate costume choices for Princess Peach.
Shadow Peach is an alternate costume choice for Peach in Project M.
VARIOUS POWER-UPS (Various titles)

While Peach may not have as many power ups as the Mario Bros, she's certainly been able to utilize many of the iconic ones. Out all of them though, the safest bet would probably be Fire Peach.

I've been busy the past couple weeks with vacation and stuff, so I haven't been able to work on the OPs of any of my threads.

But now I'm free, so I should be able to start working on it now.
I'll add a few more alts for Mario (including the Famicom Golf/Captain Amario one from last week) and try to at least finish Luigi, Bowser, Peach, and Rosalina before the end of the day.

Also, when Guybrush gave me ownership of the thread, he personally requested that I keep his original OP in a collapse. But I will try to integrate his ideas when typing out mine.

Ok, the OP doesn't just have to be your ideas, he had more for multiple characters, and I didn't see the sense in hiding the majority to focus on only three for the same character, that's all.
