A thread to post about any Nuzlockes that you are doing or have done. You can write a comic like the original( if you're good at that sort of thing) or you can just type what happens.

I am also currently doing a Nuzlocke, so I'll keep y'all updated on that.

I dunno if I can do a Nuzlocke.

I know most of the games so well, it bugs me so much when I got to an area and am like "Ok, THIS pokemon is in this area. I WANT this pokemon."

Then it's a pidgey or a rattata

Yeah, I completely understand that, I do that too. Actually, that happened in the one I'm doing right now.

Just putting this so that @Hat n' clogs. A10theHero A10theHero and LoneKonWolf LoneKonWolf know that this thread is here.
Huh, interesting, you also forgot blossom and ken.

And while others can easily post their logs, i'm somewhat not as easy, mainly because the widespread of their popularity didn't kick in till after my second gym and because mine is a bit more absurd than a regular nuzlocke. So it would be rather hard for me to catalogue mine compared to others who's been posting theirs frequently

Pokémon HeartGold Nuzlocke

There will be certain optional rules I will allow for this run.
  • Starter Pokémon is based on the player's Trainer ID number. If the last number is 1-3 the player starts with a Grass type, 4-6 is Fire type, 7-9 is Water type, 0 is the player's choice.
  • Rather than releasing the Pokémon, it can be permanently boxed, migrated, or transferred with Poké Transfer should it happen to faint.
  • The player may not evolve captured Pokémon, but evolved Pokémon may be caught.
  • Species/Dupes Clause: Adjusting the first encounter rule to prevent the player from having to catch multiple of the same Pokémon, for the sake of variety. Generally this means that the trainer can keep fighting Pokémon in the area until one is encountered that has not been caught yet, which then immediately counts as the first encounter.
  • Not officially enforcing the rules until the player has Poké Balls and can catch Pokémon. For example, the PoochyenaRS/ZigzagoonE that the player has to save Professor Birch from is not counted as the first encounter on the route, and not counting any other encounters as such until they can catch. Likewise, in the games where the rival battle is immediately after getting the starter Pokémon, the "any that faint must be released" rule is not enforced at that time.
  • Since Ho-oh is required to be fought, no catching/using Legendary Pokémon.
  • As a mercy rule, if the player runs into a Shiny Pokémon, the player may still catch it, regardless of whether or not it is the first encounter in the area. It also does not need to be released if it faints. This is often called the Shiny Clause.
  • Modifying the "first encounter only" rule for the Safari Zone, sometimes allowing one encounter for each area, or until they catch one Pokémon in the entire area, and vice versa.

Chapter 2: Bugs, Featuring Team Rocket

I seem to have stumbled upon the ancient Ruins of Alph, a place riddled with mysterious creatures called "the Unown..."

One of their kind attacked me and my team. I was able to defeat it, but at a price...

Heimlich was killed in the battle, having fought with a valiant effort only to have befallen by a critical hit...

I buried him outside the ruins and paid my respects for the young caterpillar. All he ever wanted was to become a Butterfree...

We have arrived at Azalea Town, having trekked through Union Cave and catching a new friend within it;

A
, aptly nicknamed Golden.

I shall take my rest here... It looks like there is trouble brewing in the town, and I want to be wide awake to face it.
After a well earned day's of rest, it is time to continue my journey.

The first thing I did was return to the rainy route of Route 33 to receive a new friend...

This one was a
, nicknamed Joey.

During my travels, my egg finally hatched, revealing a
inside. I shall call this Pokémon Daisy.

Now... It is time to investigate the events occurring here in Azalea Town.
I stumbled across a wild
while I was down in Slowpoke Well. She was trying to escape from Team Rocket's clutches...

Her relaxed and derpy nature intrigues me... But I feel like she will be a good member for my team.

She will be dubbed... "Nymph." I shall have Whoopi take a rest in the PC while I try to tap Nymph's potential...
Gaia and
Harpy worked together to win me the Hive Badge.

Scyther was cake. One Rock Throw sent it to the Shadow Realm.

Harpy went up against Metapod and Kakuna next, and barely made it out alive, winning the match for me.

-----------------------------------------

Chapter 3: In Preparation for the Infamous Miltank

My journey was cut short by the sudden arrival of Silver, my rival.

His Gastly was brought down with no trouble at all, but his Croconaw was out for blood...

Those Bites he threw were powerful, killing both
Nymph and
Harpy in the madness. Fortunately, Harpy threw out a few Sand-Attacks before she fell to the Jaws of Death.

One Hypnosis later,
KoP pulls through and defeats the Croconaw, with
Gaia taking care of Zubat shortly after.

Two deaths in one battle were a lot to take in... I had the two buried next to each other near Poké Ball crafter Kurt's house and I paid my respects for them.

Next stop... Ilex Forest.

I found a
during my travels through Ilex Forest. I have decided to name it "Hilton."

While searching for some lost Farfetch'd, I came across a strange diamond-shaped item on the ground...

I do believe this is what trainers call a "Revive?" Either way, I do not see a reason to keep such an item for such a brutal journey as this...
Back in Azalea Town to heal... This guy I met in Ilex Forest taught Hellraiser and Gaia how to headbutt trees.

I saw a couple trees outside... Let's try it.

... ...

Suddenly, out of the blue, a
flies out and attacks me! Luckily, I managed to fight it off and catch it, giving it the nickname "Pesto."
In hunting for a new friend at Route 34, I ran into a particularly stubborn Rattata. I put my best effort, but it caught me off guard and killed
Whoopi. I ran to shelter by the Day Care Center and I buried her so she may rest in peace...

However, as one friend falls, another takes his/her place. I managed to catch a
in the route. I shall call her... "Lily..."

Lily♫ is now in the Nuzlocke. :p
I have arrived at Goldenrod City. Such a big place, with so much to see. I received a Bicycle here, and a Radio Card for my Pokégear.

We've had quite a bit of deaths today... While they were rough to go through, I have to keep fighting and succeed.

Tomorrow, I take on Whitney of Goldenrod Gym... This battle will be difficult, I feel... I will need to train my Pokémon very well for this Gym battle...

It took a while, but my team is now ready to take on the next gym. Look out, Whitney. Here we come.
Clefairy was an easy take down thanks to
KoP.

I had a strategy for Miltank, involving
Lily.

It took a while, and it took away a bunch of Super Potions I had, but my plan was to get rid of that Lum Berry she was holding with Poison Gas, and then use Hypnosis.

Gaia did the rest of the work. A couple of Rock Polish buffs and some Magnitudes did away with the Miltank, despite being hindered by Attract.

...And now Whitney's CRYING? The match was brutal! I was nervous that my strategy might not work. Ugh... Guess I won't get that Gym Badge...

...Oh.

She always does this when she loses. ...Ok, then...?

-----------------------------------------

Chapter 4: I Ain't Afraid of No Ghosts

Entering Route 35, I fought a couple trainers along the way, and I also met a new friend...

A particularly feisty
. I decided to call him... "Uni."

There you go, 5T00PiD UNiK0ЯИ ♞. You're in the Nuzlocke. :)
Pesto is Lvl. 20!

Evolution to
achieved!
Such a tranquil area is the National Park... So peaceful, riddled with bugs, and...

..Speaking of bugs, I have appeared to run into one myself.

...It's a
... Oh, if only Heimlich stayed alive for a while longer... It brings back fond memories of my dear Caterpie...

I went ahead and captured this cocoon, naming him... "Monarch."

This counts as my encounter, since I never obtained Metapod.
Monarch is Lvl. 11!

Evolution to
achieved!
A
... So there are females of this species?

I went ahead and caught this new team member, calling her "Unikle."

...Yes. "Unikle." :p
What was originally thought to be a tree turned out to be a
!

Quite an aggressive Pokémon that took out a decent chunk of
Lily's health... But nonetheless went down in peace.

Here's hoping that thing won't come back...
Coming in to heal at Violet City, I noticed something in the trees...

I had Lily headbutt it and an
fell out!

This thing kept chucking eggs at me, and she refused to go to sleep when using Uproar.

I ultimately caught the bundle of eggs, nicknaming her "Omlette."
*laughs*

Well, this is new! My entire team got afflicted with Pokérus!
I came across a
at Route 37.

I figured it might want to come along with me on my journey.

...But then it used Roar, making me flee, and furthermore, making my random encounter of the route go to waste.
Arriving at Ecruteak City, I came across Bill, the creator of the PC Storage System.

I remembered that I ran into his family back at Goldenrod City, so I decided to pay him a visit.

When I arrived, he offered me to raise an
, and I happily accepted.

I shall call her... "Ariel."
That wasted encounter got me all riled up... I should calm my nerves and go fishing in that pond in Ecruteak... Do something relaxing...

... ...

Splashes into the fray!

This sudden surprise encounter caught me off guard, and next thing I know, I wound up catching it.

Think I shall call this weak fish... "Koi."
Ran into a
at Route 38, and it nearly killed both
KoP and
Hellraiser.

I managed to catch it, but the fire in its eyes still burns... It wanted bloody murder. Badly.

I have decided to name him "Splinter."
Decided to do some level grinding before entering the Burned Tower.

Koi reached level 20 during the grinding, achieving the evolution of the almighty
.
My rival, Silver, has appeared once more, and this time, I had an easier time.

Once again, his Gastly was cake.

Koi held his own against his Croconaw thanks to Intimidate weakening his attacks, but Silver ended up switching Croconaw out when it got in the red.

Gaia switched himself in against his Magnemite, and took quite a beating this time, having been confused and been taking damage from SonicBoom, but he still beat it.

Hellraiser chipped off what was left of Croconaw.

Koi finished him off by KOing his Zubat with a few Bites.
After witnessing the Legendary Beasts, a
suddenly jumps me.

I managed to capture this gaseous Pokémon, naming it "Monoxide."
KoP is Lvl. 25!

Evolution to
achieved!
For the Ecruteak Gym,
Koi was the star player.

He used his countless amounts of Bites to plow through Morty's Gastly and two Haunters.

It was Morty's Gengar that caused trouble in the end, however.

My sole objective was to keep Koi alive and win it all. One Shadow Ball from Gengar took away half of Koi's health, not to mention Gengar is a very fast Pokémon.

...So a sacrifice had to be made.

Monarch intercepted to take the Gengar's Shadow Balls while I was healing Koi, and he got killed in a valiant effort to protect his friend from harm.

Koi ended up winning it all, and after I received my Fog Badge and TM, I buried Monarch by the Gym.

A wild
appeared before me in Route 39.

I had Koi out against it in hopes that Dragon Rage would bring its HP down to just enough that I can catch it...

But the Magnemite had less than 40 HP and got KOed.

... ...

WELP. Moving on to Olivine City...

The sudden appearance of
in Route 38 startled me!

This Pokémon looks quite powerful... If I can just...

... ...

...It ran away.
Gaia is Lvl. 25!

Evolution to
achieved!
It was a long climb up the Lighthouse, and I came across Jasmine, the Gym Leader of Olivine City.

...Poor
... He appears to be sick...

She has tasked me to go over to Cianwood City to acquire some medicine. Time to bring
Brownie out of the depths... Just so she can help me Surf.
Somewhere...

Beyond the sea...

Somewhere, waiting for me...

Oh! A wild
wants to hitch a ride!

Well, hop on board, friend! You shall be named... "Plop."

The Plop of the Takumi is now a part of this. :p
...

The tentacles are strong out here in the sea...

I will have to call you... "Kraken."
Exploring the coast of Cianwood City, I encountered a Pokémon further away from town...

It was
. It stopped to rest here.

As I approached it, however, it fled off to the sea...

Then, a man walked up. It was Eusine, the man from Burned Tower, who said he was chasing down Suicune for a while.

He battled me to earn Suicune's respect, but I easily beat his team.

Here's hoping I can see Suicune again one day...
Went on a grinding spree once again. My Pokémon are more than ready to take on Cianwood City Gym.

Along the way, I met up with a fellow trainer who wanted to do a couple trades with me to fill his Pokédex.

I did a trade-trade back with the trainer, allowing me to acheive two brand new evolutions;

and

His Aerial Ace breezed through all the trainers in the Gym, and Chuck's Primeape.

When it got down to his Poliwrath,
KoP was sent out to put the tadpole to sleep and KO it without it hardly even lifting a finger.

Chapter 6: Steeling Ourselves Off the Beaten Path

We finally delivered the medicine to Olivine Gym's Jasmine to cure Amphy...

Now we can go take her o-

Huh?

... ...

Oh, it's Baoba! I met this man in Route 39...

... ...

Looks like his brand new Safari Zone is now open!

As he said, it is out of the way... But hey, I like an adventure.

Let's head out!

Look at that derpy face!

I encountered this Pokémon while riding the waves in Route 47.

She shall me named "Marina."
WHOA! HUGE PINCER!

...Ahem, sorry...

I ran into a
at the Cliff's Cave, and boy, was this thing fierce! She really fought back and did not want to be captured, that feisty crab...

She shall be called... "Krabkake."

I'm creative. :p
In the grassy patch of Route 48, I run into a

I have now arrived at the Safari Zone Gate.

Tomorrow, I have a Safari Zone to explore.

I forgot to mention; I added one more rule to this Nuzlocke run before I started, and that is in regard to the Safari Zone.

The Safari Zone has several different areas of access, each with different Pokémon you can find. I decided to make each area it's own separate chunk of land, and the first Pokémon I find in each area will count as my encounter for each area.
While I was tasked to find a Geodude in taking a test to become the Owner of the Safari Zone, I ran into a
at the Peak Area.

It was tough, but I managed to catch it, nicknaming it "Magneto."
In the Safari Zone's Wasteland Area, a wild
approached me.

I tried to coax it to stay by throwing bait at it, but one Safari Ball later, the Onix caught on to what I was doing and dug a hole into the ground, running away.

Shame, since Onix is one of my favorites... Would have been cool to own one.
In the Wetland Area, I was hoping to get something good!

...Oh. A
...

An utter disappointment. I threw mud at it in anger and threw a Safari Ball at it soon after, but it fled.

Good riddance. Why hasn't an evolution of that Pokémon been discovered yet?
A lone
was wandering in the Savannah Area.

I threw mud at it to make it easier to catch, but it didn't make a difference. It broke out twice with no shakes before fleeing.

I would like to catch at least one more Pokémon out here... Please give me that chance.
:cry::cry::cry:

I WANNA CATCH ANOTHER ONE!!!

An
I ran into in the Plains Area fled after I threw one ball at it...

Kind of like it just... Teleported away...
...

The final frontier...

Hidden within the Swamp Area... Will this puffball be the one other Pokémon I can catch in here...?

*it flees*

...No...? Just... Doesn't even give me a chance...?

*sigh*

...Guess this Safari Game is over...
Olivine Gym's Jasmine is a Steel-type user.

Since
Hellraiser didn't really get a lot of action lately, I made him the star of the Gym Battle, and it was a breeze.

Not even Jasmine's mighty Steelix could withstand Hellraiser's Fire-type attacks.

-----------------------------------------

Chapter 7: Scales of Red, Radio Waves to Dread, and an Icicle to the Head

Surfing across a pond in Route 42, and a
popped up from the surface.

I threw a Quick Ball at her and caught her with ease.

She shall be named... "Dory."
*is shoved*

Hey! I only came by for the Apricorns!

Well, I saw
once again, but when I was about to confront it, it ran right into me and fled to the east.
Ah, Mahogany Town seems so tranquil and quiet...

I'm just going to rest here for a little bit before I head into Mt. Mortar.

... ...

...This souvenir shop in town seems rather odd...

There's just these two guys there, and the only items available are practically worthless.

I've also been overhearing talk of an experiment... That's apparently making
evolve into
?
Marina's currently going through some training right now, and she's doing great so far!

Additionally, while travelling through Mt. Mortar, I ran into a
.

After weakening it a little, I captured it and named him "John Cena."

Machop's time is now. :p
En route to the Lake of Rage, I run into a

As I saw

"Why am I so cocky?" :(
...So the rumors are true.

There is a Red
at the Lake of Rage!

And my GOD, was it furious! Throwing attacks out here and there...

Omelette disappointed me, missing twice with its Sleep Powder and then falling to Gyarados's Bite.

KoP and
Magneto took heavy hits, but they remained in tact.

A few Poké Balls later, and I finally catch this monster, nicknaming him "Bloodborne."

Baoba called me back to the Safari Zone, and he introduced me to the Area Customizer!

6 new areas in the Safari Zone opened up for me to explore!

While I'm out to find a Sandshrew for the test, I suppose I'll go around and see what other new Pokémon I can find...
The first area I entered was none other than the Mountain Area.

I heard that
roamed in that area, so I was hoping I would encounter one.

Instead, I encountered a
and, after using up 10 of my Safari Balls, I finally caught the stubborn creature and named him "Feelicks."

Feelicks is now in the Nuzlocke... Better make sure he lasts. :p <3
I decided to Surf around in the Rocky Beach area, and it is there that I encountered a
.

I caught her with ease and nicknamed her "Ruto."
In the Marshlands, a wild
encountered me and backed me to a corner.

He only got angrier after I threw mud at it, but I still caught him, nicknaming him "Methane."
I am now at the Desert, which is the area in which I can find a Sandshrew for the test.

While looking for one, I found a
and caught him with ease, nicknaming him "Oliver."
I encountered a
in the Forest area and I threw mud at it.

A Pokémon named "Mr. Mime" can't be a female. It just... Can't.

It ran away shortly after.
I ran into my final encounter of the Safari Zone in the Meadow area; a
.

I caught him with little trouble, giving him the nickname "Apollo."

The Team Rocket HQ has been breached!

It's time to kick these guys out of Mahogany Town!
Hellraiser is Lvl. 36!

Evolution to
achieved!
Stepped on a booby trap in the HQ, and a
popped up in front of me!

Luckily, I caught it with a Quick Ball, nicknaming it "ThundrBall."
Well... This is a good omen for things to come.

While clearing out the booby-traps at the Rocket HQ, a Koffing used Selfdestruct on
Marina, killing her.
Bloodborne is proving to be invaluable for the team!

He's a nice replacement for the late Marina.

...What was I doing again...? Oh, right, base infiltration.
A Sun Stone was handed to Apollo!

Evolution to
achieved!
While I was exploring the depths of the Union Cave, I found that some of its exits lead out into the Ruins of Alph!

When I walked into a patch of grass near one of the exits, I found a
.

After weaking him, I caught the mystic bird and nicknamed him "Flyer."

For Equestrian Flyer, of course. :)
Feelicks is Lvl. 33, learning Rollout at that level!

Evolution to
achieved!
In the Gym battle against Pryce,
Bloodborne took down his Seel.

Feelicks was able to chip off some of his Piloswine's health, but it wasn't enough in the end, so I switched him out.

Hellraiser finished off the Piloswine, and then took on his Dewgong with his newly learned Focus Blast attack.

When I got out of the Gym, Prof. Elm called me, saying that the radio shows were suddenly broadcasting Team Rocket...

That's not good. I should head over to Goldenrod City.

-----------------------------------------

Chapter 8: Preparing for Trouble... Should I Make that Double?

It was all planned out. I was to wear a Team Rocket uniform I got from Goldenrod Tunnel to sneak into the Goldenrod Radio Tower.

But as soon as I was about to enter, Silver came in and blew my cover.

That jerk... Now I have to do this the hard way...
Silver, still hung up from getting beaten down by Lance at the Rocket HQ, battled me as soon as I entered the Goldenrod Underground.

His team was very easily beaten this time.

Gaia took care of Golbat and Magnemite,
Bloodborne laid the smack down on his Feraligatr and Haunter, and
Feelicks easily dispatched his newly obtained Sneasel.

When he was beaten, he contemplated on how he was treating his Pokémon, reflecting on what Lance told him about how he treated his team...

Perhaps he can have a change of heart?
I... Am so tired...

But I did it! Team Rocket has been defeated!

As a reward, the Director gave me a strange rainbow-colored wing...

I wonder what it can be used for.

After several hours of training, I feel that I am now prepared to take on Clair. I hope for the best...
In one of the most tense Gym battles ever, I tried hard to stay alive, and I prevailed.

Snare is important solely to nail Clair's Gyarados with AncientPower. Though she switch him out mid-battle, Snare was unfazed and was switched out in order to have
Feelicks to take on her two Dragonair with his newly leaned Ice Beam.

Bloodborne went one-on-one with her Kingdra and almost fell to him after an unexpected Hyper Beam attack was thrown out, but emerged victorious.

Her Gyarados was sent out again as her last Pokémon, and Snare finished him out with the perfect combo of PoisonPowder and AncientPower, winning me the fight.

... ...

Are you F***ING kidding me, woman?! Gimme my badge that I worked so hard to get! Don't make me run an errand!

*sigh*

Clair, salty over the loss, forced me to go to the Dragon's Den to take a test...
I passed the test and earned the Rising Badge!

Upon returning to the Shrine a few minutes later, Clair's grandfather gave me a
, which I nicknamed "Smaug."

This Dratini was unique in that it knows the move ExtremeSpeed.

Returning to New Bark Town, Elm gives me the rare Master Ball as a prize for me obtaining all the Gym Badges.

The Kimono Girls have brought me here for a purpose...

...To summon the legendary
...

In order to prove my worth, they have all challenge me to a battle, one girl at a time.
Hard fought, but victorious on my part, the Kimono Girls have taken notice of my strength, handing me a strange Clear Bell...

Their youngest sister suddenly barges in and informs us that a large shadow has appeared over Bell Tower.

...Could it be...?

I have to ascend the tower and see.
The Kimono Girls have met me atop the Bell Tower, and with the Clear Bell, they performed a dance to summon
...

... ...

It's here... It perched on the tower...

Such a beautiful and majestic Pokémon...

...The look in its eyes... It wants to see my power.

...Very well. I shall prove my strength to it!

Shaooooh!
Gaia was front and center against Ho-oh.

It took a huge beating, being burned by Sacred Fire and nearly dying from Extrasensory, but it kept up with its Rock Blast and brought it down, barely surviving in the end.

was down, and one of the girls walked up and gave it a Max Revive to give it some energy again.

Ho-oh then stood up and looked down on me.

...And it gave me a smile. It has recognized my strength.

The phoenix gave me a nod for good luck, then took off to the skies, vanishing with a bright flash.

...I feel that it's now time to take on the League. ...Right after I heal up Gaia, of course.

Chapter 10: Welcome to Kanto

While exploring Tohjo Falls, I find a cave behind one of the waterfalls...

The cave was small, only containing a few rocks to smash and an old, dusty radio...

Was someone living in here?

As I go to exit the cave, a
swoops down and tries to latch her fangs on Hellraiser.

I quickly pulled out a Quick Ball and caught her before she could do so, giving her the nickname "Contessa."
Taking a few steps into the grasses of Route 27 helped me encounter a
!

I caught him using one of my coveted Quick Balls, naming him "Sleipnir."
A
I encountered in Route 26 brought back fond memories of one of my old allies; Whoopi.

I bet if she were looking down on me... ...Well, I don't know what she would think.

I caught the Quagsire with a Quick Ball, naming her "Waterlily."

Will was dealt with easily. His two Xatu were beaten down by KoP, his Jynx and Exeggutor were downed by Hellraiser, and Snare took care of Slowbro.

Hellraiser laid the smack down on most of Koga's team, while Gaia dealt with his Muk and Bloodborne took out his Crobat with a slight scratch.

KoP took out Bruno's Hitmontop, Hitmonlee, and Machamp with relative ease, while Feelicks was called out for his Hitmonchan and Bloodborne was sent against his Onix.

Hellraiser dealt with Karen's Umbreon and Vileplume, while KoP was sent out against her own Gengar, Bloodborne knocked out her Houndoom, and Feelicks attacked her Murkrow.

It was Lance that I feared to face the most. I had Snare take out his Gyarados, and then I sent Bloodborne out against his Charizard. Two Dragon Dances later and a Waterfall takes out the Charizard, as well as his Aerodactyl. I could NOT afford Ice Fang to miss against his three Dragonite... But it hit all three times it was used, KOing them in one hit and beating the Champion in a sweep!

It has arrived here in Kanto, now...

I wonder when I'll finally be able to face it?
Shocking!

The Gym Battle against Lt. Surge was a breeze thanks to
Gaia.

Bloodborne got in some action, as well, being sent out against his Magneton.

-----------------------------------------

Chapter 12: Psychotic Breaking Point

In the grasses of Route 6, a
happens to show its face.

So I chucked a Quick Ball at it, nicknaming it "DingDong."

Yup. My creativity at work. :p
Smaug is Level 30!

Evolution to

...Where's a gun? Because I want to shoot somebody right now.

The Gym Battle against Sabirna took an awful turn for the worse.

I didn't expect Sabrina's Espeon to still be faster than
KoP, resulting in him getting KOed by her Psychic.

Then,
Bloodborne was sent out and took out Sabrina's Espeon and Mr. Mime with a Dragon Dance boost.

Then, her Alakazam... HER F***ING ALAKAZAM...

It uses Reflect, nullifying Bloodborne's attack.

It was also too fast even after a boost and too strong to heal stall.

So I had to make a sacrifice... Nay... 2 sacrifices...

Snare intercepted a Psychic, which KOed it in a single hit. Then,
Gaia, one of my oldest team members, bravely stepped in to take Alakazam's mighty Energy Ball as I healed Bloodborne.

Bloodborne came into the battle ready to take it out... When all of the sudden its Psychic frickin' CRITS him and KOs him in a single blow.

Hellraiser had to finish the fight, just barely surviving another heavy blow...

Ugh... I left the gym, resisting the urge to punch Sabrina dead on in the face, and I went off to bury my 4 team members that perished...

This... This was a very heavy blow to my pride... I feel weak, vulnerable, and scared...

...But I will recover. After all... I do have a vast array of Pokémon I caught on my journey... Just a couple hours of training to tip-top shape can do the trick.

After paying my respects, and giving Hellraiser a hug and comforting him, I went over to the PC to search for new team members...

...I'm not down just yet, Kanto...

We're back.

After the utter disaster that was the Gym Battle against Sabrina, I took some time off to train up my team.

This took a couple days, training constantly each and every minute... But it's done.

During the training, Contessa, perhaps due to our close bond we built up from battling, evolved into
and became the fastest member of my current team. Meanwhile, a trainer walked up and asked for a trade, which I happily obliged.

Mandala evolved into
during this time, as I gave it a Metal Coat prior to the trade.

*knocks on wood*

Time to head back to Kanto!
A
suddenly flew at me when travelling through Route 8.

The Quick Ball I threw at it failed, leaving me to just paralyze it and try my luck with the balls I have, since I can't weaken it; none of my Pokémon have moves that can chip its health away.

I soon caught it after a while, nicknaming the bird "Hitchcock."
While exploring the Rock Tunnel, a
corners me.

Chucking a Dusk Ball at it resulted in her capture, and I decided to nickname her "Norma."
As soon as I exit the Rock Tunnel, a
pops out and lunges at me.

My swift reflexes pull out a Quick Ball and catch her, and I give her the nickname "Juri."
Arriving at the Power Plant, I found out that one of the pieces of the generator has been stolen by a shady figure.

Who would have the nerve to do such a thing?

While leaving the vicinity, I ran into an
and managed to catch him after throwing a few Dusk Balls.

He shall be named "A-10"

I tried to do something fancy with the name, but this is for A10theHero A10theHero .
The shady guy that stole the part turned out to be a part of Team Rocket!

When I found him stashing something in the gym, he ran out and off the Nugget Bridge, and I managed to tail him and quickly beat him in battle.

He told me where the machine part was, and I in turn told him what happened to his team.

He said he was going to head back to his country and try to revive Team Rocket again... But I don't see the odds of that happening.
A-10 has been added to my team, and is beginning to gain levels to try to catch up with everyone else.

I recovered the Machine Part, but I say tonight I call it a night and continue my journey tomorrow.

With a ker-chunk, the Kanto electricity crisis was resolved. I can now use their treasured Magnet Train for instant transportation!

In addition, heading back to the Radio Tower in Lavender Town earned me an expansion card! Now I can listen to radio stations in Kanto!

...Hmm. One of the radio stations I tuned into sounds like the Poké Flute...
The music station I tuned into is playing some music reminiscent to the far off Hoenn region. It sounds rather pleasant...

... ...

Oh hey, a wild Pokémon appea-

...A
?! ...Well this is a rare sighting indeed! It was probably attracted to the music playing on the Poké Gear!

I decided to catch the cute little rodent, naming it "Pikablue." :p

EDIT: This was in Route 5, btw.
...Guys.

Guys.

Guys.

in Route 24.

Guys.

Guys.

I'm scared.

Seriously. One bad move an Arba will either faint or Teleport away.

...But...

:smirk:

Thank you, Master Ball.

This Abra shall be nicknamed "PSY."
While strolling around in the grasses of Route 25, a
popped out and surprised me

I caught her easily with a Quick Ball and nicknamed her "Maneater."
It appears that the Copycat Girl in Saffron City lost her Poké Doll.

I thankfully found it in Vermillion City's Pokémon Fan Club.

When I left the club, a trainer named Steven Stone ran into me, saying that he was investigating the whereabouts of some Pokémon called
here in Kanto...

I wonder if I will come across her during my journey.
I'm all over the place right now in Kanto. Before battling Misty, I should consider training some more.

My travels seem to have taken me to the bustling Celadon City. I also noticed this place has a gym, as well... And it specializes in Grass-types!

With Hellraiser and Contessa on my team, going through this gym will be a breeze.
...Yuck...

This pond in Celadon City is filthy...

Pollution seems to have gotten the better of it.

Surfing along the water's surface resulted in me finding
within these polluted waters...

I caught the pile of sludge with a Quick Ball and nicknamed him "The Blob."
As expected, the Gym Battle against leader Erika was a breeze.

Sunny Day may aid your Pokémon's Chlorophyll, but it also boosts the power of
Hellraiser's Flamethrower! Ha-ha!

Of course, I can't give ALL the credit to him... I also had
Contessa make quick work of her Tangela and Bellossom.

Chapter 14: The Toxicity of Our City

I received another shot at catching a
at Route 7!

One Quick Ball sealed the deal, and I named him "Kon."

LoneKonWolf LoneKonWolf , congratulations. You are now a dog that breathes fire.
A-10 has caught up with the rest of my team, now.

There's a little area south of Lavender Town that I can go to... That's my next way to go.

shows its face in Route 13.

After catching it and thinking for a few minutes, I decided to nickname him "Hat."

...Alas, I couldn't think of anything clever, so I decided to drag Hat n' clogs into this. :p
While travelling through Route 14, I notice
once again.

As it ran off north, Eusine arrived and told me where he might go next.

Somewhere north... That's hilly and by water.

... ...

The Cerulean Cape in Route 25!

That might be where it went next!

But before I chase after it... I shall continue travelling this route towards its destination.

Catch Janine by the toe.

Every trainer in the Fuchsia City gym is disguised as Janine! Thankfully, though, I deduced the real one and quickly beat her down.

She's the daughter of Koga, having only joined the gym recently, and is also the weakest of the Kanto Gym Leaders, so she wasn't that difficult. I just had
A-10 give her Crobat and Weezing a shock, and then let
Hellraiser burn off the remaining bugs on her team.

Chapter 15: Just a Quick Dip into the Pool

The Cycling Road is a road where people cycle. Bicycle, that is.

A
reveals itself from the grasses of the road, and I caught her with a Quick Ball.

This slug shall be named "Slooch."
I finally fought Misty in a desperate struggle for life.

A-10 brought down her Golduck and Larpas, while
Apollo took out her Quagsire.

When it came to Starmie, I was switching all over the place, sending out
Smaug first, who took major damage from Ice Beam before chipping off some HP with Fly, and then to
Kraken, who took Starmie's blows surprisingly well despite the level difference. Apollo was going to finish Starmie off, but he was too focused on killing himself due to Confuse Ray... That Starmie's sadistic. In the end, A-10 finished Starmie off, and I won the Cascade Badge.

I buried Apollo by the Gym and paid my respects before continuing on my journey.

-----------------------------------------

Chapter 16: Shattered Crystal Along a Rocky Road

Front and center at Cerulean Cape is
itself.

Eusine finally arrived right after I did and he offered myself to prove my strength to this majestic creature...

...Ok, Suicune. Your time is up. You want to see my true potential? Well, I sure as hell will give it to you!
To kick off
Feelicks's return to the team, I had him battle Suicune.

was rather passive-aggressive. It only attacked me once as I reigned terror upon it.

As one final Secret Power attack knocked it out, Eusine cracked a smile, amazed at the battle that took place. He then handed a Revive to Suicune and watched as it fled to who knows where. He then thanked me for the battle that took place and walked off, parting ways with me once and for all.
.

...This blob is blocking the way I need to go next; Diglett's Cave, set in Route 11.

Wake up, Snorlax. ...Wake up.

... ...

Wake up.

Why isn't it...?

... ...

The radio! One of the stations played music that sounded like a Poké Flute! That can knock some sense into it!

... ...

Laaaax...!

...Uh-oh. This is gonna get ugly.
...Holy crap, that thing was angry!

Disturbed from a peaceful slumber, it attacked in a grumpy rage.

Feelicks weakened it bit by bit, but it was Blocked, being unable to switch out of
's powerful attacks. One mighty Giga Impact later, and the tongue-happy Pokémon was trampled under-belly.

Leave it to
Mandala to tank Snorlax's heavy blows.

Keeping it in the red was difficult, too, as the Snorlax was surrounded by food and it kept eating it to gain a bit more health after each turn. I was afraid of KOing it while attacking to keep its health low.

Somehow, someway, I caught it with a Heavy Ball after a drawn out battle, and I nicknamed it "Smokey."

Poor Feelicks fought valiantly... But Snorlax was the fatter one in this battle. I buried him by Diglett's Cave and paid my respects before adding the newly caught Smokey to my team.
s.

s everywhere.

Here in Diglett's Cave, these Pokémon are plentiful. I happened to catch one within the cave, nicknaming her "Peekaboo."
Arriving in Pewter City, I noticed something in the trees and I had someone Headbutt it.

I quickly threw a Quick Ball at the bird that flew at me; a
.

He shall be nicknamed "Hawkeye."

A-10 destroyed his Kabutops and Omastar.

Chapter 17: Rise of the Silver Glider

An old man was in Pewter City, reminiscing his past life as a trainer and telling me stories about his travels.

When he was finished, he handed me a little item he found one day when he was at a place called the Whirl Islands...

It was a glistening Silver Wing.

...This makes me curious. There could be a rare Pokémon lurking within the Islands...

...High time to investigate, I say. After all, I would never pass up an opportunity to explore a place just for fun!
I have arrived at the Whirl Islands...

As son as I enter, a cute little
suddenly pops up from the surface of a pond I surfed on.

One Quick Ball later and I catch it, naming it "Poseidon."
This cave was so confusing, and the darkness wasn't doing any favors...

...I seem to have made it to the end. It's a small cavern, with a large waterfall crashing loudly.

...It's very quiet in here...

...Almost... Too quiet...

... ...

...A shine of silver lies within the waters... The same silver that the wing had shone.

I surfed towards the figure, and it rose up from the water... ...And as it spreads its wings... It lets out a bone-chilling cry...

Gyaaaaas!!!

The monster was Lugia, the other bird of legend, hidden deep within Whirl Islands!

Mandala was sent out against it, and the battle was very hard fought. Lugia was very bulky and took hit after hit, but Mandala was bulky as well; none of Lugia's attacks can hit him for super effective damage.

Nonetheless, Mandala still took a beating, straining after taking a critical hit from Lugia's powerful Aeroblast attack, but he still won the battle.

Lugia fell into the abyss below, sinking quite a ways before it suddenly jerked and swam behind the waterfall, hiding itself away once more.

...What an amazing experience, to battle such a glorious legendary...

Chapter 18: Falling into a Burning Ring of Fire

appeared in Route 3!

This is my first sighting of her... Better make it count.

... ...

Kraken's Sludge Bomb took out a decent chunk of her health, but she survived and flew off.
Latias encounter aside, I ran into a
at Route 3.

I quickly caught her with a Quick Ball (yay, puns :p), nicknaming her "H-Box."
I arrive at Mt. Moon, and the first thing I see is my rival, Silver, waiting for me.

His team, once again, was easy to take care of.

Hellraiser took care of his Sneasel and Golbat,
A-10 took care of his Feraligatr and Magneton,
Smokey went up against his Alakazam, and
Smaug smacked his Gengar around.

Silver then ran off, saying that he was going to train at the Dragon's Den. ...Perhaps I can see him there at a later time.
Going back out to Route 16, I find a
flying about.

I caught her using another Quick Ball, nicknaming her "Mourir."
Flying back to Pewter City and entering Route 2, I encounter a
that was being stubborn to catch.

I managed to finally catch her after three balls, and I gave her the nickname "Hooters."
*bonk*

While my Pokémon was headbutting a tree in Viridian Forest, a
fell on my head!

One thrown Quick Ball captured her, and I gave her the nickname "Tengu."
Finally, after hours of walking, I have arrived at Viridian City...

I'm going to rest here for tonight and continue my journey another day.

We're back!

I think I have kept this on a hiatus long enough. Time to return to the adventure!

I am currently in Viridian City, and I have two more badges to collect. Viridian City has a Gym, but the Gym Leader appears to have left.

So now it would seem that my journey will now take me down to Cinnabar Island. I heard that a volcano erupted there... Hope the island didn't get too damaged.

After taking a nostalgic trek through Route 1, I have made it to Pallet Town.

...This place is so peaceful. So small and homey.

In one house is the mother of a trainer named Red, her saying that she's worried about her son. ...Kinda makes you wonder where he takes off after.

In another house is the sister of a trainer named Blue, who confirms that Blue is Viridian City's Gym Leader.

Perhaps the most notable landmark here is Oak's Pokémon Lab! I decided to pay him a visit, and he happened to bring up that he has a gift for me if I get every Gym Badge in Kanto. This makes me even more determined than ever to achieve this goal.

So it looks like the only way left to go from here is-

*splash*

...What was that in the water?
Hooked a
with my Super Rod!

This illuminating fish was spying on me from the surface of the sea...

I nicknamed him "Lum."
...A female
.

This is the type of stuff I have to put up with in this world.

I caught her and gave her a more appropriate nickname to ease my obsession with this; "Mrs. Mime."
I arrived at Cinnabar Island and...

...The place is in ruins...

That volcano took a lot out of this once bustling island. Only its Pokémon Center remains.

When I arrived, I noticed a person standing by the wreckage; Blue.

He stated that he was once the Kanto League champion before he fell to Red, and that he is now the Gym Leader of Viridian City.

He says that I am not ready to battle him yet... I guess I'll have to beat one more Gym Leader before I can battle Blue.

And Blaine, the Gym Leader of Cinnabar Island, left a notice, saying that his Gym moved to Seafoam Island.

Before I head out there, I should probably heal.
Blaine was washed up in our Gym Battle.

Kraken effectively OHKOed his Magcargo and Magmar with Surf, while
Smaug took out his Rapidash no problem at all.

-----------------------------------------

Chapter 19: Mr. Blue Oak

Arriving back to Cinnabar Island, I showed Blue my badge case again, and he accepted my challenge.

...This is it. The final Gym Leader of Kanto. I gotta make this battle count.
Blue. The final frontier.

This guys is the toughest Gym Leader in the Kanto region.

Hellraiser took care of his Exeggutor no problem, while
Kraken took care of Arcanine and Rhydon and
A-10 was sent out against his Gyarados and Pidgeot.
Smaug was sent out against his Machamp and took him out with a boosted Dragon Claww after taking heavy damage from Stone Edge.

...We did it. We just beat Blue. We have every Gym Badge in Kanto.

Prof. Oak just announced to me that he had something for me, and when I came back to Pallet Town, he gave me the HM08 Rock Climb!

He additionally gave me access to Mt. Silver, the tallest mountain in Johto.

...Many powerful Pokémon roam there. Let's hope they aren't out for blood.

I have decided to explore the deeper levels of Seafoam Island.

This place really reminds me of the Ice Path back at Johto...

A
soon approaches my way. I caught it after a few balls, nicknaming him "Howard."
During my exploration of Seafoam Island, I encountered a glistening bird deep within the basement of the cave...

The legendary Articuno!

...Well... Its status as a legendary might be questionable.
Hellraiser took it out with a single Flamethrower. :p
Well, geez... You go revisit one place and you get lightning launched at you.

I noticed that the Power Plant has been receiving some activity lately, and when I arrived, I saw a Thunderbird!

...No, seriously,
the legendary Pokémon Zapdos was there.

Once again,
Hellraiser was sent out against it, and Zapdos proved to be a lot tougher that Articuno, but it still went down with little trouble.
When I came back to Cerulean City to heal, I noticed that the mysterious dungeon off the other side of the river was no longer being blocked.

...Time to do some more exploring!
.

Never would have thought these Pokémon would be in this Unknown Dungeon. Let alone one wearing lipstick.

Due to the power of my team, I couldn't weaken this Pokémon, so it was a long Poké Ball chuckfest.

But I finally caught the blue wonder, nicknaming her "Wobba Fett."
I seem to have made it to the end of Cerulean Cave.

It was a long dungeon, with tons of items within it, including this odd yellow block that A-10 kept wanting to hold.

...I see the ladder that leads to the exit. Let's go ahead and-

...Mew...

It's... ...It's that Pokémon...

Mewtwo! The lab experiment gone horribly wrong!

This thing is monstrously powerful... But there is one Pokémon on my team that can stand up to it;
Mandala.

Mandala's useful defensive typing pulls through once more to defeat the savage lab experiment after a few hard blows.

When Mewtwo was defeated, it teleported away and we got the heck outta there.
It would appear that the yellow cube I picked up is called an Electririzer.

A-10 wanted this item because it's the way it can evolve!

I ran to the nearest trainer and asked him for a trade/trade back, and A-10 evolved with the item in hand... Into the amazing

A
, all rolled up into a ball, rushes toward me in an aggressive attempt to take me down.

One Quick Ball captured the armored pachyderm, and I nicknamed her "Ellie."
I have arrived at Mt. Silver!

Going inside the cave, I was met with two branching pathways, one on land, and one in water.

The water path was the wrong way to go, as it led me to a dead end and straight towards the fiery
!!!

The bird seemed to have burrowed its nest here to rest for the time being.

It was enraged upon waking up, but
Hellraiser did it a favor and showed it who the real Fire-type king is, taking it down after a few blows.

Flustered and disoriented, Moltres regained its senses and flew out of the cave and out of sight.
Mt. Silver... I just realized.

This area is the final place in which I can try and catch a new friend.

The radio was playing that Hoenn tune again, so I decided to let it run while I search in the very chamber that Moltres rested in.

After trekking through to try and find my final friend, going through Pokémon like Golduck, Quagsire, and STEELIX, of all things...

...I finally found one that I didn't catch. A
. This guy seems to have been drawn by the sounds on my Poké Gear and wanted to hitch a ride.

I caught her with a Quick Ball and gave her the name "R. Mika."
Twisting...

Turning...

Climbing...

Descending...

Mt. Silver was a rough path to take, but we somehow got it done and reached the summit...

It's chilly up here... And I see someone in the distance... Are my eyes playing tricks on me?

I slowly walk towards him and speak up, and he turns around, with the most stern and serious look on his face...

I was surprised that Red, the strongest Trainer in all of Kanto, had a Pikachu with him. I guess it's kind of a "loyal companion" kind of thing. This Pikachu was holding a Light Ball, making it surprisingly powerful. I had Mandala out against him. Pikachu couldn't do a thing to Mandala, and it went down in a flash.

Later, Snorlax was sent out. Mandala was called upon once more, where it set up a couple of Curses to beef its physical bulk up and make it hit stronger. It was also PP stalling the one move Snorlax could use effectively; Blizzard. Mandala had just enough special bulk to take each Blizzard without critical hits to worry about. Snorlax was switched out in favor of Charizard, but upon being sent back out, Mandala finished the job.
&
VS

For Blastoise, A-10 was sent out at first, but not only was Blastoise faster than A-10, he also hit hard with Blizzard, which can 2-hit-KO A-10. So I switched A-10 out for Kraken, my special sponge. Kraken was taught Giga Drain to help chip Blastoise's health down, and thankfully, not a single move Blastoise had can hit Kraken for neutral damage, so Kraken finished the job fairly easily.
VS
&

Smokey was unleashed for both Lapras and Charizard. His Thick Fat ability rendered Lapras's Blizzard fairly weak and Charizard's Fire-type attacks heavily impaired. He almost died against these two brutes, but his fatness pulled through and he drove the two down to the ground. Charizard was made easier to take out due to the fact that it kept using Flare Blitz on Smokey, and he was additionally what he switched in to as a substitute for his Snorlax.

VS

The final Pokémon he had was Venusaur, which I especially saved Hellraiser for. Hellraiser finished the battle with a bang, blasting Venusaur with a furious Eruption and winning the battle for me.

Due to the amount of Pokémon with Blizzard on his team, Smaug sadly had to sit out for the battle, but he was rooting for us along the sidelines.

Once he was beaten, Red was left speechless. He handed me my prize money and walked off, his hat dropping on the snowy floor of the summit, vanishing into the blizzard of the summit... Exhausted and beaten, I flew back home to New Bark Town and took a long deserved rest, happy to have finally accomplished my goal of becoming a Pokémon Master.

...The Nuzlocke has finally come to an end. Thank you all so much for keeping up with this journey I took up to its very end. This Nuzlocke was very fun for me, as well, especially since it was set in my favorite Pokémon game! I was heavily prepared for everything I had to face as best as I could, and I pulled through, even after the utter massacre that was Saffron City's Gym.

This also holds the honor of being the very first Nuzlocke run I completed! I attempted one in Emerald, but I stopped it after a while. I was happy to get back into this with HeartGold and complete it, even going over side locations that were completely optional for me to travel... Anyway, enough rambling. Once again, thank you all for sticking with this journey, and I hope to do another Nuzlocke run in the future to come, if I feel up for it.

Complete!

I'm currently doing a Nuzlocke in Emerald

  • Any Pokémon that faints can't be used again
  • Only one Pokémon can be caught per area
  • All caught Pokémon must be given a nickname
  • A black out/white out is a "game over"
  • No voluntary resets in the game
  • The species clause and shiny clause will be followed as well
  • Running away from any battle is not an option
  • No items, aside from Pokéballs and Key Items, can be used
  • The starter is chosen based on the last digit of the Trainer ID (0 = Choice, 1 - 3 = Grass, 4 - 6 = Fire, 7 - 9 = Water)

Ayy, guess I'm going with Treecko.
I saved Birch and got a Treecko. I named him Kon.

2 things:
Kon evolved into a Grovyle and is almost Lv. 20! :D
I found and caught a Ralts, giving him the nickname Ken. :)
He only knows Growl, so training him will be fun, lol

At Lv 6, Ken learned Confusion, so that helped against everyone except Poochyena.
On Route 104, I found a Wingull, and the first thing I thought was, "I wanna catch it and name it Hat." So I did.

I caught a Shroomish and named him Plop. :)
I've just been training my team so far, but I'm probably gonna be going for my first gym badge the next time I play.

I trained all of my Pokémon to be Lv 20 (the exception is Kon, who was 21 from earlier). I also caught a Skitty and named her Katt. I am unsure if I want to have her in my main party or not, so she's currently in the PC. I'll still train her a little to make sure she's strong enough in case I do decide to have her in my team. Also, Ken evolved into Kirlia! :D

I battled Roxanne and the other trainers in the gym. Nobody took damage and Kon even leveled up again.

Yay! :)

First I trained Plop to Lv 23 so that he could evolve into Breloom and learn Cut. Then I battled the trainers blocked off by trees on Route 116. By then, Kon had reached Lv. 25. I trained Ken some more before going to Dewford Town. Granite Cave is a perfect spot to train him because there are many Makuhita and Zubat in that cave, both of which are weak to Confusion. I then caught one Zubat and named him AoL. I went back to Route 104 by Petalburg City and trained both Katt and AoL to Lv 20. My plan now is to train everyone to Lv 25 and then beat up Brawly's team.

I finished training everyone to Lv 25, so I went to battle Brawly. Everyone in his gym was one-shot by Ken's Confusion attack.

So that's my second gym badge now! :)

My team now. As you can see, Hat evolved into a Pelipper and AoL evolved into a Crobat. Literally the level right after he evolved into Golbat, he became a Crobat. The magic of friendship is strong. :b:
Now it's time to deliver the letter to Steven and then I'll be on my way to Slateport City. This run is going pretty well so far, in my opinion.

I received an Old Rod in Dewford Town (I almost forgot to get that!). With it, I caught a Magikarp and named him Golden. At first, he was much weaker than the rest of the team, but with the others' help, he was able to reach his full potential. Now Golden is a Gyarados. :)

It's been a while since I posted an update. Well, I'm in Slateport City and I trained everyone, box warmers included, to Level 30. I also caught an Oddish and named him Blossom. He is now a Gloom. :D

After witnessing the Legendary Beasts, a :109: suddenly jumps me.

For the Ecruteak Gym, :130: Koi was the star player.

:012: Monarch intercepted to take the Gengar's Shadow Balls while I was healing Koi, and he got killed in a valiant effort to protect his friend from harm.

Koi ended up winning it all, and after I received my Fog Badge and TM, I buried Monarch by the Gym.

A wild :081: appeared before me in Route 39.

I had Koi out against it in hopes that Dragon Rage would bring its HP down to just enough that I can catch it...

But the Magnemite had less than 40 HP and got KOed.

WELP. Moving on to Olivine City...

The sudden appearance of :244: in Route 38 startled me!

This Pokémon looks quite powerful... If I can just...

... ...

...It ran away.

...You know?

The more I add onto this, the more I think I should keep everything on a singular post.

...Oops...

EDIT: From here on out, I will only update the original post.

Awesome, I'll join in.

I tried to do a Nuzlocke for Alpha Sapphire as my first run. It ended horribly and I quit before Watson.

I'm currently giving a Nuzlocke of Blue Version a go, since I've yet to complete a Nuzlocke and if any game is going to be the first Nuzlocke, it'll be RBY which I have extremely familiar rerun ground with.

I am using the default ruleset with 2 small tweaks: I can catch other Pokemon but cannot name them or use them in the run. It's purely for 'Dex filling. Also I allowed for Mt. Moon only to be able to catch one Pokemon per floor because **** Zubat, and also I'm new to Nuzlocking and wanted to give myself a small crutch just in case I could run into something other than Zubat (and thankfully on B2F, I did).

Currently, I am 2 badges in, on Route 6 just before Vermilion City. I have this for a team:

:017: Cyclone Lv.18 (Caught on Route 1)
:021: Woody Lv.19 (Caught on Route 22)
:069: Annie Lv.15 (Caught on Route 5)
:046: Steve Lv.19 (Caught on Mt. Moon B2F)
:027: Chuck Lv.19 (Caught on Route 4)
:008: Buddy Lv.20 (Starter)

I only have 2 casualties so far, a Caterpie named Gary I caught in Viridian Forest, and a second Pidgey named Twister that I caught on Route 2 whose stats were horrible so I decided to train it as bait which it did well and helped save the rest of the team the agony of setting up against Misty's Starmie.

I'll be posting daily progress here, glad to see this thread, thanks OP for making it.

Time for today's update, fresh from Lavender Town!

Let's start from where I left off in the previous post. I trained through Route 11, not getting anything new for an encounter there. I caught a :050: in Diglett's Cave. Its name is Legs. I haven't used it yet. Inside of Diglett's Cave I nearly had a heart attack as I ran into a Dugtrio and managed to frantically run away, because at the time, nothing in my team was high enough level to safely fight it.

I struggled through the S.S. Anne. Many close calls, Steve :046: nearly fainted 2-3 times mostly because his poor typing left him weak to Poison Stings from the Nidoran carried by several trainers on the boat. Also had a close call with Buddy :008: who felt like it was a great idea to miss 4 Mega Punches on one Pokemon. The rival fight was fairly easy, although the Raticate scared me for a moment with its high attack for such a low level.

Vermilion Gym wasn't too bad at all, with Annie :070: now evolved and Steve :046: resistant to Electric-type attacks and recently evolved Chuck :028: taught Dig and outright immune to them, the only thing I had to worry about was Sonicboom, which its set damage was easy to play around.

I then headed back to Cerulean City and east to Route 9. I encountered a damn Rattata there, said no thanks, fainted it, and plowed through some trainers. A little impatient I pushed past a few others without fighting them, and hit Route 10, and my one encounter was a Spearow. Lame.

Headed into Rock Tunnel decent stocked up and a bit nervous. With enemy Pokemon in the 20s now they weren't far behind my own team and the right combo of Pokemon could knock something out. My one encounter was a damn Zubat. What the hell... Pressing deeper into Rock Tunnel proved pretty easy, even a super effective Confusion from the Lv.25 Slowpoke wasn't too damaging to Annie :070:. But HOLY **** I got scared on one Hiker. I switched in to Buddy :008: to take care of a Geodude with a super effective Bubblebeam only for him to catch a SELF DESTRUCT. He was knocked into single digit HP but thankfully survived.

Leaving Rock Tunnel I fought a few uneventful trainer fights and headed into Lavender Town to recover and save. And that is where I currently am.

Team:
:017: Cyclone Lv.24
:022: Woody Lv.24
:070: Annie Lv.24
:047: Steve Lv.24
:028: Chuck Lv.24
:008: Buddy Lv.27

My next plan is to head towards Celadon and grab the Eevee there to evolve into either Flareon or Jolteon. I'm lean for Jolteon for the speed and because I already have the TM for Thunderbolt, but Flareon would be refreshing because I used Jolteon in Red and the Fire-type Ember at Lv.31 would cruise through Erika's gym (and I might be able to easily get it that high before I take Erika on). It depends what my encounter on Route 8 is. If it's a damn Pidgey then I'm gonna go for Flareon, but if I luck out and roll a Vulpix, I'll probably take that and go for Jolteon. I could opt for Game Corner prize instead but I only would want Dratini and he's 4600 coins. In any case, this next portion of the game is going to see a large team shift, so tomorrow or Saturday when I next update this (depending on how much I play between now and the next post) you can expect some new additions to the group.

All in all I'm enjoying my Nuzlocke so far.

Oh boy...

I went west through Route 8, catching a Meowth and naming it Whiskers :052:. The trainers around weren't too hard at all. Annie :070: took care of several Pokemon through the spamming of Wrap alone, displaying just how stupid (good) the move is in RBY. Route 7 next to Celadon simply held another Meowth, which I did not bother to catch.

I went Celadon City to get Eevee and named him/her Frisk :133:, and taught Body Slam for a good STAB until I evolve it via Fire Stone into Flareon before Lv.31 so it can get Ember. This Eevee has currently replaced Cyclone :017: who is boxed for later if I need them. I also went up to the top of the Celadon Department Store to grab some Lemonades for decent healing, and gave the girl drinks for TMs, teaching Rock Slide to Chuck :028: and Ice Beam to Buddy :008:.

I took on the Rocket Hideout, plowing fairly easily through everything in my way. The only thing that gave me any sort of trouble was Giovanni's Kangaskhan which I let spiral out of control with Rage, but luckily a strong Bubblebeam from Buddy :008: would take it out.

Next was Pokemon Tower, and what would be the first crushing blow of the run... I went up to the second floor to fight the rival battle, and Pidgeotto went down pretty easily. Next came Gyarados. Lv.23, he can't possibly have any strong STAB moves or anything aside from Bite yet, right? Well that's what I thought, not knowing what his moveset was... I sent out the best choice that I thought, and the only Pokemon with a super effective move, Chuck :028:.

I selected Rock Slide happily, expecting to eat a Bite and crush the sea serpent... only to see "Enemy GYARADOS used HYDRO PUMP!". I yelled "No! **** me dead, the ******* has HYDRO PUMP AT LEVEL 23!? **** YOU DUDE." (not actually mad, simply shocked and surprised, but laughing) Unfortunately, this was the end of the run for what was hands down the very best Pokemon to fight the Ghost-types inside the tower. He had both Dig and Rock Slide, nothing would've survived long with Chuck. Sadly, he wouldn't get to flex those muscles.

I would tear through the rival's team cautiously from that point, spamming Buddy's :008: Ice Beam to finish Gyarados (who strangely opted for the less powerful Bite as opposed to what would have been the 90-power Hydro Pump even on a 0.5x effective), Bubblebeam to down Growlithe immediately as he came in, switching out to Woody :022: who earlier took out Pidgeotto and would come back in for Kadabra, and Steve :047: would crush Ivysaur with Leech Life which in RBY is 2x effective to both Grass and Poison, giving Ivysaur a 4x weakness to it, for a decent 120 power. I felt it right to have the Pokemon who stuck with Chuck the longest to avenge him, and they did very well.

After storming out of the tower to pick out a replacement from my available box (specially set aside usable 'mons in Box 12), I would grab the closest thing type-wise to the late great Chuck :028:, which would be Legs :050:. I headed back into Pokemon Tower and caught a Gastly under my first encounter and named him Rickroll :092:, to set aside from later. With 2 different team members, I'm currently tearing a bloody swath through the floors of the Pokemon Tower as I take my vengeance for Chuck :028:, the run's first major casualty, and the third overall.

RIP CHUCK, ROUTE 4 - POKEMON TOWER

Current Team:
:050: Legs Lv.17 (Caught in Diglett's Cave)
:022: Woody Lv.26
:047: Steve Lv.25
:070: Annie Lv.26
:133: Frisk Lv.27 (Obtained in Celadon City)
:008: Buddy Lv.31

Today's post will be somewhat short. I spent the majority of the day on a new file in Pokemon X, which I already spent almost 10 hours on and gotten the second badge (I felt if I stopped somewhere in between badges 1 and 2 I would lose motivation to continue to I slammed through them both in one day).

But on the topic of Blue Nuzlocke. I had some high points to offset the terrible loss of Chuck last night. Let's begin.

I finished my run of Pokemon Tower, quite easily tearing through the remaining floors. Legs gained lots of experience and evolved in a few battles on Route 12 shortly after. I even caught the Snorlax here! His name is Cartman :143:. Annie was the star here, keeping him asleep with Sleep Powder and safely using Wrap to whittle him into low health, before one final Sleep Powder to keep him asleep to capture.

I went back to Celadon afterward to take on the gym, and managed to level up Frisk enough to evolve him and teach him Ember as a Flareon in time for the Gym Leader fight with Erika. She didn't stand much of a chance with both Woody's Peck and Frisk's Ember. After that I went back to Route 12 and headed further south, picking up the TM for Swift and teaching it to Woody. I barely squeaked onto Route 13 and through a few trainers prior to calling it a night and making this post.

Team:
:022: Woody Lv.29
:047: Steve Lv.27
:051: Legs Lv.27
:070: Annie Lv.28
:136: Frisk Lv.31
:008: Buddy Lv.32

See ya next update.

Well gang time for a new update. Stuff happened.

I headed deeper into Route 13, and pushed beyond Route 14 and skipped Route 15's trainers through the upper path opened via Cut. I took a brief break at Fuschia City, before returning to fight through the trainers on Route 15 for training. I then turned back to Fuschia again and headed west. I was fighting the Bird Keepers just below the gatehouse at the bottom of Route 18 and something bad happened...

One of the Bird Keepers had a Lv.29 Spearow. I figured Steve :047: would be okay even if he took a Peck. But this mother****er had DRILL PECK. Steve is gone now, buried in Box 1 with his friend Chuck :028:. :'( I withdrew Cartman as the replacement :143:.

Went back to claim the Bike Voucher in Vermilion City, then the Bicycle in Cerulean City, before heading to Cycling Road west of Celadon City. I trained through all the Bikers and Cue Balls there, then went into Fuschia Gym. The Juggler with the single Lv.38 Hypno was BRUTAL, but I lucked out on some bad AI rolls on his part to take him down without a casualty, though 2-3 Pokemon all came close to being fainted because of Confusion and Psychic just being outright brutal.

I made it to Koga and had a pretty easy fight. Frisk :136: took out the first Koffing and did some decent damage to Muk, but he used Minimize, so I sent out Woody :022: who took care of him with Swift. I switched to Legs :051: to take care of the rest, and he did so perfectly with Dig, avoiding Weezing's Selfdestruct and netting an easy win.

Once that was done I went to the Safari Zone to collect the Gold Teeth for Strength HM and the HM for Surf. I caught a Rhyhorn in one area I would name Stompout :111:, and a Krabby by fishing near the house at the end with the Surf HM, and I would name him Cookie :098:. After that, I headed to Silph Co., and we're in the thick of it at the moment, Buddy evolved just after arriving here, and the team is gaining some decent levels. I expect to evolve Annie soon, but I'm waiting on Razor Leaf.

Current Team:

:022: Woody Lv.34
:051: Legs Lv.34
:143: Cartman Lv.35 (Caught on Silence Bridge, Route 12)
:070: Annie Lv.33
:136: Frisk Lv.35
:009: Buddy Lv.36

A strong team is coming together.

Rest in peace to the fallen:
:010: Gary
:016: Twister

My current Platinum Nuzlocke is the strongest it has ever been. Aside from a few type coverage issues, I have:

Ragnar the Machamp
Cleopatra the Luxray
Ygdrassil the Roserade
Fafnir the Altaria
Fornjot the Mamoswine
And Floki the Gastrodon

All in all I am very happy thus far. Fafnir and Floki are great walls. I need a bit more Sp.A as Roserade isn't completely cutting it, and Cleopatra's Crunch is currently my only real Psychic killer.

Don't have many routes left to explore... I might swap out my Gastrodon if somethimg better comes along like Tentacruel.

My Nuzlocke just took a turn for the worst in Galactic HQ. I lost FOUR Pokemon, leaving me with Machamp (on 12 HP) and Altaria on 40 HP.

I lost Mamoswine (to a Golbat of all things), Roselia (to Honchkrow - semi sacrifice), Luxray (hurt by confusion three times in a row fml) and Gastrodon to a Croagunk that compeltely set up on me.

I have a few unexplored areas that I can fish in/ catch low level Pokemon so I'll have to go restock. Will post results soon.

So my run, which suffered a horrible sweep, leaving me only with my Altaria and my Machamp has kinda steadied. It isn't anywhere near as strong, but by visitng a few areas where I hadn't yet run into a Pokemon (the bottom 3 routes in Platinum) and a random cave has me now with a Golem, a Tentacruel and a Girafarig. I've always loved Tentacruel and Golem packs a punch... and I'm honestly enjoying Girafarig, if only for Agility passes.

My team has some major flaws with only a few routes left. Let's see what I can do... not feeling too good about Cyrus to be honest.

Well, stupid Distortion World Cyrus just killed my entire team. Crobat confused my Golem and my Tentacruel.

My Altaria got crit after setting up 3 Dragon Dances and Roosted.

Machamp lost out to speed against a Honchkrow (that was my bad).

I didn't bother grinding Girafarig mainly to to I couldn't be bothered.

RIP Platinum.

Dunno what I'll do next. Maybe an X run. Or maybe a mono-type run.

BW or BW2?

Gen 5 is a great game to Nuzlocke.

Although I ban TMs because infinite use is great for regular play but I don't like it in Nuzlockes.

Oh and Audino spamming lol.

I was doing an ORAS run and got to the flying gym before getting bored. Team wasn't too strong, it just has a boring line up for a Nuzlocke run.

Well enough has changed to post an update here.

I tore through Silph Co. without anything really happening, I grabbed the Lapras, named it Majesty, and went to Saffron Gym. Had a rough time on a few trainers, cleanly cleared the rest, and took on Sabrina. I beat her Kadabra easily, Mr. Mime took a while because of Barrier and Reflect but eventually went down between Annie's and Cartman's efforts. Venomoth also went down easily to Frisk, but Alakazam, as I expected, would be rough. I started with Woody, did some decent damage but was outsped and lost over half HP, so I switched to Legs, hoping to survive one attack and go for the kill with Dig. That didn't happen, as a critical hit Psybeam retired Legs. RIP. Another team member lost to the run.

So far the team is looking okay though. We recouped with Rickroll the Gastly becoming our newest team member, who should be helpful in the upcoming slog through areas such as the Power Plant, Seafoam Island, and Cinnabar Island. Let's review the current team:

:092: Lv.18 Rickroll (caught at Pokemon Tower)
:022: Lv.36 Woody
:070: Lv.37 Annie
:143: Lv.37 Cartman
:136: Lv.37 Frisk
:009: Lv.39 Buddy

Once we bring Rickroll up to snuff a bit, we're tackling the next portion of the game.

RIP to the fallen~...

That's a pretty decent team. I'm doing an XY run atm - with a few extra rules to up the difficulty.

I'll post my team in a moment. I've got a Zangoose and am loving it.

Pokémon X Nuzlocke

As with all Nuzlockes, the general rules apply. I will be implementing additional optional rules for the benefit of my new journey.
  • Starter Pokémon is based on the player's Trainer ID number. If the last number is 1-3 the player starts with a Grass type, 4-6 is Fire type, 7-9 is Water type, 0 is the player's choice.
  • No catching/using Legendary Pokémon.
  • Shiny Clause: If the player runs into a Shiny Pokémon, the player may still catch it, regardless of whether or not it is the first encounter in the area. It also does not need to be released if it faints.
  • Rather than releasing the Pokémon, it can be permanently boxed, migrated, or transferred with Poké Transfer should it happen to faint.

The Trek Across Kalos
It's the start of a brand new day. We are in the Kalos region, taking a breath of fresh air as the sun basks upon our faces.

Our journey begins in the eyes of a young girl who has just started her journey. Blond hair, blue eyes, and with cute accessories, the girl is known as Serena. Once she gets dressed, she is greeted by her mother, telling her that her neighbors wanted to see her.

Running outside, Serena meets with her neighbor, the black-haired trainer Calem, and his friend Shauna. The two state that the Professor has summoned trainers to Aquacorde Town so they can learn how to raise their first Pokémon. The two head off to the town, Serena following behind.

Meeting up with the two, along with fellow friends Tierno and Trevor, Serena decided on a nickname they should all call her; "Lady S." The reason they all came here was to select a Pokémon to start off with. Looking at the last digit of her Trainer card helped Serena decide which Pokémon to pick; Chespin. Looking upon the adorable Pokémon with a smile, she decides to nickname him "Rollodillo."

After exploring Aquacorde Town, buying a few Potions and Poké Balls along her way, Serena prepares to head home to talk to her mother, when Shauna interrupts her and challenges her to a battle with her Froakie. Sadly, Froakie had a type disadvantage against her Chespin, and it lost the battle for Shauna. The battle complete, Serena heads home to tell her mother the news.

As she enters Route 2 in search for her friends, Serena encounters her first wild Pokémon of her journey; Pidgey. The Pidgey was playful and wanting to tag along, so after weakening her, Serena threw a Poké Ball at the bird, making her the first member of her team, with the nickname "Harpy." Conveniently, her friends Shauna and Calem were straight ahead, and they decided to show Lady S how to catch a Pokémon - even though she literally did that a few seconds ago.

Entering Santalune Forest, Shauna follows Serena and decides to accompany her as they went through the forest. As they traveled, a Panpour jumped at the two girls. Serena managed to weaken him with little difficulty and caught him, giving the water monkey the nickname "Oasis."

Serena and her friends have soon escaped Santalune Forest, entering Route 3. Serena traveled onward, battling the several trainers waiting for her. As she moved into the grass, a Bidoof caught her by surprise and tried to bite at her. Oasis managed to weaken and calm the big-toothed Pokémon, leaving Serena to capture her. The Bidoof was given the nickname "Sandy."

Serena eventually arrives in Santalune City, getting a much needed break at the Pokémon Center. She deposits Sandy into the Pokémon Storage System, seeing no use for her at the moment. After she puts on a new change of clothes, she explore the city and discovers the Pokémon Gym, blocked off by a roller skater. Serena battles the skater for the promise of her own pair of roller skates to get around with faster. After winning, the skater's promise was fulfilled, and Serena received roller skates.

Serena decided to enter Route 22 to train some more. While in the grasses, she encountered an aggressive Bunnelby. Harpy managed to subdue her, but her Tackle was too much for the little bunny and it went down in one hit. Dejected, Serena moved on and continued her training.

Her training complete, Serena decided to enter the gym, where Harpy carried her throughout. The Gym Leader Viola was quite literally blown away from all the Gusts that the little Pidgey launched. Though Serena was nervous, she pulled through and won the Bug Badge, as well as the Technical Machine for Infestation. Content and newly confident, Serena left the gym, looking forward to what challenge is next for her.

Serena has begun to continue her journey through Kalos, well rested from her Gym Battle with Viola. Before entering Route 4, she encounters Alexa, Viola's sister. She rewards Serena with an Exp. Share before heading back to her workplace in Lumiose City. Turning the device on, Serena noticed that the energy radiating from the device made it possible to transfer portions of experience to her team, hence the name. With that knowledge, she moved forward to Route 4.

Walking through some lovely yellow flowers, Serena encounters a very small and adorable Pokémon; Flabébé. Careful as to not knock her out, Serena had Rollodillo use Bite on the Fairy-type as to not overly weaken it. Serena caught her after she was weakened just enough, nicknaming her "Ivy."

As she trained, Serena's Rollodillo grew stronger and stronger, until eventually it started to glow white and change form! When the glow stopped, he became a brand new Pokémon; Quilladin!

Serena eventually arrives at Lumiose City, enamored by the buildings and cafés; so many places to go and have a good time! But she was here to see Professor Sycamore, who's lab was within the city's South Boulevard. As she arrived, the professor challenged her to a battle, which she happily accepted. The professor used three Pokémon that Serena has never seen before; starter Pokémon from the far off Kanto region! As the battle finished, Sycamore decided to let Serena pick out one of the Kanto starters to use. She picked a cute little lizard with a fiery battling spirit; Charmander. Smiling, she happily nicknamed the fire lizard "Spitfire." Sycamore then went on to tell her and her friends some detail about a phenomenon called "Mega Evolution," giving Serena a Mega Stone for her Charmander to use in the process. Happy to receive a new team member, Serena continued on her journey.

As she moves to exit the building, Serena meets up with a man that is an acquaintance of Sycamore, named Lysandre. He expresses interest in Serena, and mentions his aspiration of a more beautiful world before walking out of the building...

Serena enters Route 5, having done up her hair back in Lumiose. After battling with Tierno, she walks into a batch of purple flowers, where a Skiddo pops out in front of her. Surprised, Serena quickly pulls out a Quick Ball and catches the grassy goat, nicknaming her "Alpine."

During another bout of training, Harpy, her strength starting to show more and more, evolved before Serena's eyes, becoming Pidgeotto.

Serena arrives at Camphier Town, an ancient place with a lot of history... And unfortunately none about Mega Evolution. However, it has been stated that something was going on over at Route 7, so Serena and her friends went off to investigate. When they arrived, they found a Snorlax sleeping on a bridge and blocking the way. The only way to wake it is with a Poké Flute, however it is in the Parfum Palace, up in Route 6.

The Parfum Palace was very fancy. Serena was careful not to touch or break anything. When she ran in with Shauna, she met the owner, who lost his beloved Furfrou. The two girls went on a search for the mutt out in the garden, Serena picking up the Hidden Machine for Cut in the process. After finding it, the owner celebrated with fireworks, with the two girls watching from the balcony of the palace together. The owner then provided them with the item they wanted; the Poké Flute. With the item in hand, Serena left the palace and trekked through the long grasses in Route 6, when an Oddish popped up right in front of her. She managed to catch him, nicknaming the weed "Poinsettia."

Serena went on to train some more within Route 6, when Spitfire started to glow white. Changing form and gaining more power, he turned into the fierce-spirited Charmeleon.

The Poké Flute was handed over and played, and Snorlax woke up. The battle was rough, and Rollodillo took a beating, but Snorlax was captured in the end, receiving the nickname "Plop."

Calem, Trevor, and Tierno met up with Serena and offered to do a Double Battle, Calem paired with Serena. The two beat Trevor and Tierno, and after the fight, Ivy began to glow white. The little fairy began to evlove, finishing its process and becoming the elegant Floette.

Entering the Connecting Cave, Serena felt a little lost and nervous being in the darkness, but she carried on regardless. As she went into the cave, a Meditite jumped out and surprised her. She managed to capture the big headed Pokémon, nicknaming him "Chan." Despite its weak stature, it had the ability Pure Power, which gives him added power to his Attack.

Once she exited the cave and entered Route 8's cliffside, Serena ran into two of Sycamore's assistants, who upgraded her PokéDex to add Coastal Kalos. Excited to meet new Pokémon, Serena ventured forward, running into a rogue Zangoose as she entered the grass. She tried her best to weaken it, but Harpy's Gust was too strong for the Zangoose to handle and it went down. Serena kept a straight face about the scenario and moved on with her adventure.

Serena soon arrives at Ambrette Town, the home of a Fossil studying lab. One of the scientists told Serena and her friend Calem that one of his assistants is currently at Glittering Cave searching for fossils, and recommends the two to accompany him. Serena travels to Route 9, following her mother's footsteps and riding a Rhyhorn through the rocky terrain. To her surprise, a Sandile emerged from the rocks and attacked her. She managed to catch her after weakening the croc, nicknaming her "Kremling."

Serena soon makes it out of the route, entering the elusive Glittering Cave. The place is a narrow cave with various branching paths, which left Serena confused. The first wrong turn she made resulted in her running right into a wild Pokémon. A Cubone suddenly popped up out of nowhere and attacked Serena. Plop came out just in time to protect his trainer and weakened Cubone for his trainer to catch. Serena successfully captures the Cubone, nicknaming him "Oliver."

Reaching the end of Glittering Cave, Serena encountered people in red suits looking for fossils themselves. Calling themselves "Team Flare," they challenged Serena to multiple battles, but she managed to beat the all, with Calem coming in to help her. Team Flare flees, and the scientist was saved. He gave Serena a Jaw Fossil to revive back at the lab in Ambrette Town, which Serena happily complied. The result of reviving the fossil was a Tyrunt, which Serena nicknamed "Tyrannus."

Serena went out onto the coast of Route 8, met with swimmers and fishers, and even fished with her Old Rod on her way up to Cyllage City. The various Luvdiscs she found were all holding peculiar scale, so she had Harpy steal them away using Thief. Once she arrived in Cyllage City, she took note of everything she saw; various buildings, steep slopes, another entrance to the Connecting Cave, and the Gym itself. Grant, the Gym Leader, greeted her and handed her the Hidden Machine for Strength. Meanwhile, there was also a bike shop in the city, and Serena went inside and got her very own bicycle!

Serena explored the coast of the city, intrigued by the cracked rocks along the coastline. Having Spitfire break one, to her surprise a Dwebble was found inside! Once he was weakened a fir amount, Serena caught the hermit crab, nicknaming him "Mr. Krabs."

Serena soon entered Cyllage Gym, anticipating a challenge against Grant. He put up a bit of a fight, having an Amaura and a Tyrunt on his team. Despite the beatings her team took, Serena won the battle and the Cliff Badge, additionally receiving the TM for Rock Tomb. Taking a few minutes to catch her breath, she moved on to continue her adventure.

Serena, after changing her clothes once more, arrives in Route 10, which has odd stones that seem to radiate some kind of energy about them... Rumor has it that the area is a burial ground for the fallen Pokémon that fought in a great war. Walking in the grasses, Serena encounters an Emolga flying about. After weakening the flying squirrel, Serena threw a ball at him and caught him successfully. The Emolga was then given the nickname "Rocky."

Serena soon arrives in Geosenge Town after taking care of a few more goons from the elusive Team Flare. She then noticed someone from Team Flare heading away. Calem caught up and pointed out that he seemingly vanished, as the direction he went lead to an ancient artifact of some sort. As Serena prepared to leave, the Gym Leader Korrina approached her - she encountered her earlier in Route 5. Korrina challenged Serena to a battle using her two Lucarios, with Serena's Spitfire making good work of the two jackals.

Serena soon enters Route 11, nearing the entrance to the Reflection Cave. As she walked in the grass, a foul stench was in the air, forcing her to wear some noseplugs. It only got worse as she encountered a Stunky standing in her way. With her last Quick Ball, Serena caught the skunk, nicknaming him "Pepe."

While she was training up her team, to Serena's surprise, Kremling started to emit a bright glow! Now learning to stand upright and gaining new porew, the tiny sand croc turned into the tough Krokorok.

Serena has now entered Reflection Cave, which, true to its name, is full of mirrors and such. As she walks through the cave, she encounters a rare Pokémon the dwells within the cave; Sableye. Ivy managed to weaken the Pokémon just enough for Serena to capture, and after a couple of balls, Serena succeeded. The Sableye was nicknamed "Sagittarius."

Serena looks down in shame as she re-enters the Pokémon Center; a trainer that she fought caught her off guard, resulting in the death of one of her beloved Pokémon...

Harpy's journey has come to an unfortunate end. A further shame, considering the next gym Serena has to go to is a Fighting type gym, and she's nervous that Ivy may not be strong enough to handle it.

Sparking an idea to work around this dilemma, Serena calls upon her recently captured Sagittarius to help her along.

Serena finally makes it out of Reflection Cave after some time to train. She arrives in the ancient Shalour City, where the key to Mega Evolution is said to be located. Her answer is stated to be found inside of the Tower of Mastery, so she decides to head up to the tower.

She arrives at the Tower of Mastery, where Korrina and her grandfather are there to explain to her and her friends about Mega Evolution. Wanting to discover it themselves, the five wanted a Mega Ring, but Korrina's grandfather only had one Mega Ring left. Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor decided not to get the ring, but Calem and Serena still wanted it, so they ended up battling to see who will get the ring. Serena emerged victorious in the end, but before she could get the Mega Ring, she had to prove herself to Korrina in a gym match!

True to her plan, 2 of Korrina's 3 Pokémon were rendered unable to touch Sagittarius, leaving the gem-eyed Pokémon to take the 2 Pokémon down without a fret. Her final Pokémon, Machoke, had Rock Tomb in its movepool, so Rollodillo managed with that. It was with this victory that not only did Serena win the Rumble Badge and the TM for Power-Up Punch from Korrina, but Rollodillo also succeeding in fully evolving into the bulky Chesnaught! However... To further prove Serena's worth, Korrina challenged her to one more battle at the top of the Tower of Mastery. Serena followed her up the tower...

As Serena arrived, Korrina was there, waiting for her with her two Lucario. She handed Serena the Mega Ring, giving her access to Mega Evolution. One of the Lucario, who had always taken a fancy to Serena, decided to battle alongside her against Korrina to test out the Mega Evolution process. The battle ended in Serena's victory, and the Lucario offered to join her team, which Serena happily accepted. Nicknaming the Lucario "Anubis," Serena wished a goodbye to Korrina and went off to continue her adventure...

As Serena leaves Shalour City, Calem stops her and hands her the HM for Surf to help her traverse the waters. When Serena enters Route 12, she is additionally greeted by a breeder who was wanting to give a Lapras to any trainer who wanted one. Serena took her off of his hands and decided to nickname her "Nessie," adding the Lapras to her team.

Serena had tons of fun out in Route 12, being able to surf along the waters with Nessie, ride a Skiddo from the Skiddo Ranch, and battle various trainers along the way. One trainer she fought with caused Spitfire to glow brightly, and Serena became elated to finally see her little fire lizard finally evolve fully. The glow vanished, and Spitfire was there, as the almighty Charizard. Serena additionally noticed that the strange stone Spitfire has been holding is starting to twinkle a bit...

When Serena used Spitfire in battle, his Mega Stone glowed brightly and Serena activated her Mega Ring, causing Spitfire to go through Mega Evolution! As the awesome Mega Charizard X, he completely obliterated his opponent and won the battle. Serena was amazed by the power the Mega Stone had, and promised herself to keep it in check so it won't get out of control.

Surfing past Route 12 brings Serena into Azure Bay, a giant body of water with trainers and Pokémon galore. As she continued to channel Spitfire's Mega Evolution power, a flock of Wingulls suddenly attacked her. Instead of running, running so far away, Serena decided to use the opportunity to catch one of the flock. The process in doing so was very frustrating, but Serena managed to catch one, nicknaming him "Nigel."

After some more training and exploring, Serena arrives at Coumarine City. The place is divided into two parts, one part down at a dock, and another in the mountains. The areas are split by monorail. Serena heads up into the mountains, en route to the gym. As she gets there, she finds Calem there, waiting to have a battle with her. Serena defeated him with relative ease, and she proceeded onward to the gym after healing up.

Spitfire and his Mega Evolution made the 4th gym a breeze. Burning up trainers left and right, showing no mercy and leaving destruction at its wake, this Charizard had a lot of fighting spirit that not even Ramos was able to handle. Serena was awarded the Plant Badge, and the TM for Grass Knot. The battle, however, did take a lot out of Spitfire's stamina, so Serena decided to book a room at Coumarine Hotel and sleep there, with her Pokémon by her side, fully healed from a visit to the Pokémon Center.

Serena, on her way out into Route 13, receives a Holo Clip from Lysandre, who was informed that she now was able to wield Mega Evolution. Happy for her, he wished for her luck in using this power to help create a beautiful world...

Sycamore's assistants stop Rosa at the gate, upgrading her PokéDex to add Mountain Kalos before letting her off on her way.

Route 13 is very windy today. Serena finds some difficulty traversing the clay lands, but she can manage. As she walks, dust clouds appear on the lands, one happening to come right up to Serena, revealing itself to be a Dugtrio! It took some time, but Serena managed to capture the three-headed mole, nicknaming her "Hat N' Clogs."

It seems that Team Flare is here, as well... Upon finding a pass to enter the Power Plant, Serena entered the Power Plant to find Team Flare at work within it. With the workers all hiding out, it is up to Serena to clear them out. One by one, the Grunts went down, with Kremling evolving into the badass Krookodile in the process. Finally succeeding, Serena smiles and nods as Team Flare flee the building. Once they run off, she meets two masked heroes - totally not assistants to Sycamore - who reward her with a batch of Full Restores for solving the Power Plant Crisis. Content, Serena heads out and continues onward.

As Serena approaches the gates to Northern Lumiose City, she sees a man standing there... A very tall man, probably over 7 feet in height. He mumbled something about a flower Pokémon that was given eternal life before wandering off... Serena wonders what he was talking about.

Serena finally enters the northern part of Lumiose City, it having regained its power after she cleared out the Power Plant. There were numerous other places to go to, but first, she went to witness the Prism Tower lighting up with her friend Serena. Prism Tower also happened to be the gym of the city, but before Serena went into the tower, she explored all the new surroundings around her, from cafés to various stores all around. She went to an art museum and worked at a high-class hotel. Lastly, she also found a café supposedly owned by Lysandre himself... It gave off a bit of a mysterious vibe.

This gym was no challenge.

Kremling swept through the entirety of it! The Gym Leader Clemont couldn't believe his eyes! With the victory, Serena was awarded both the Voltage Badge and the TM for Thunderbolt. Upon exiting the gym, Sycamore called, asking Serena to meet him in Lysandre Café. Serena nodded and went over.

Sycamore was at the café with Lysandre, who further discussed his vision of a beautiful world, with a few people watching him speak. When he was all said in done, he gave Serena a King's Rock for his trouble and left. As Serena exited the café, Trevor called her and said that he and her other friends were at Route 14. After going off to get her hair done again, Serena went out to Route 14, excited to see what else awaits her.

Serena enters the Marshlands that are Route 14, hearing rumors of a spooky house being up ahead. Before she could go, Calem challenged her to a battle, with her other friends spectating.

As if it was a bad omen for things to come, Ivy was felled and killed by a critical Slash from Calem's Absol, but Serena still won the battle. A part of her wishes that the Floette knew a better Fairy-type move... Fairy Wind was getting old, and weak.

Serena enters the marshes, the place having an eerie vibe around it. As she wanders into the shallow water, a Goomy suddenly clings onto one of her feet and causes her to fall back in surprise. Serena catches the slug dragon, giving him the nickname "Smudges."

Returning to the Pokémon Center, Serena originally decided to take Pepe out of the PC and have him tag along on the team, but then she decided to opt for Anubis instead after training Pepe a little bit.

Nervous as she was, Serena went on to challenge Valerie at the Laverre City Gym, going through each trainer carefully with Anubis in tow. Against Valerie, Serena had Spitfire take care of her Mawile, with Anubis handling her Mr. Mime and Sylveon after Mega Evolving and Swords Dancing, giving Serena the badge and the TM for Dazzling Gleam; a move Lily would have made incredible use of were she still alive...

Exiting the Gym, Trevor and Shauna ran up to her, inviting her on a tour of the Poké Ball Factory stationed north of the city. Serena went after them... After healing her team, of course.

Upon arrival, Trevor and Shauna were chased off by a Team Flare grunt who was guarding the door, leaving Serena and Calem to figure out what was going on and chase Team Flare out of the factory.

After a while, Serena cleaned out the presence of Team Flare in the factory, awarded with a Master Ball for her trouble. Her job complete, Serena went onward to the next town, awaiting to see what lies ahead...

Into the fall-like field of Route 15, Serena wanders into the grass and a Skorupi latches on to her leg. After shaking it off, Serena then attempted to catch the little creature after weakening it a bit. She finally succeeded in the task, nicknaming the critter "Toxacorp" and quickly adding her on to the team.

Serena arrives at Dendemille Town, where she will rest for the evening. Tomorrow she plans to continue training around the route she traveled in, maybe even do some exploring in an old abandoned hotel she encountered. In exploring a little bit ahead, she noticed a huge trail of 5 foot snow that she wouldn't be able to go through herself. She will need a Mamoswine for that... And unfortunately, said Mamoswine is remaining still near the Frost Cavern, refusing to budge. Serena will have to investigate this tomorrow, she decides, as she heads off to bed.

Serena soon travels into the Frost Cavern, an utterly freezing area, where the Mamoswine was worrying about the happenings occurring within. As Serena went through, Toxacorp grew stronger and stronger from the training he received, eventually evolving into the giant scorpion Drapion.

As she continues, Serena encounters a Piloswine lunging straight for her. After some weakening, she managed to capture him, nicknaming the icy beast "Snufflupagus."

Approaching the end of the cavern with Trevor, Serena encounters more members of Team Flare bothering Abomasnow. The two did battle with them, chasing them out of the cavern and saving the Abomasnow. Before leaving, Trevor comments on how scary it was to fight Team Flare, but is overall happy that the Abomasnow wound up safe. As thanks, the Abomasnow handed Serena a peculiar stone; the Mega Stone for Abomasnow to Mega Evolve.

Taking a detour to Route 16 to continue her training, Serena wanders into some tall grass and encounters a Pumpkaboo; a Pokémon that comes in many different sizes. One Quick Ball later, Serena catches her, giving her the nickname "Poltergourd."

Someone seemed to have dropped their keys as Serena enters the Lost Hotel. It wasn't until those keys started to hover that Serena realized that the keys were, in fact, a Klefki. One Quick Ball later and the key ring was hers, being nicknamed "Lockhardt."

With the Mamoswine back to his post, Serena can finally traverse the snow-covered Route 17. As she traveled, the Mamoswine accidentally stepped on a Snover, causing it to attack. Serena caught it with a single Quick Ball and gave him the nickname "Abominable."

Serena finally arrives at Anistar City, taking some time to explore and change her outfit. While exploring, she encounters an old man with knowledge concerning the legendary Pokémon Xerneas. Serena sat down and listened to his tale, fascinated and wondering if this Xerneas really existed.

Upon approaching the Gym, her friend Calem interrupted her and challenged her to a battle, but he was easily beaten by Kremling's sheer strength. Calem then healed up her team and left her to take on the gym; something she shall accomplish tomorrow, she decided.

The Anistar Gym was a giant maze, crawling to the brim with Psychic-type trainers. With Toxacorp leading the way, Serena breezed through the Gym and its enigmatic leader Olympia, with some help from Rollodillo and Kremling. As a reward, Serena was gifted the 7th badge and the TM of Calm Mind before leaving the gym.

As she leaves, Calem approaches, asking for a rematch. This attempt was interrupted by Lysandre through Holo Caster, who revealed Team Flare's plans to use an ultimate weapon to start the world anew and make it more beautiful - his exact dream. This announcement lead to Serena to conclude that Lysandre is the leader of Team Flare. However, she doesn't know where Team Flare is hiding out... Of course, two grunts hanging out by the gym decided that it would be smart to blab the location out to her. Serena rolled her eyes.

Serena arrives at the very location of Team Flare's labs; Lysandre's own café. Taking out two of his waiters, Serena found a secret entrance behind one of the cupboards and went inside, where Lysandre awaited and challenged her.

In the ensuing battle, Nessie was in the thick of the action, and took a beating from both his Gyarados and his Pyroar, but she ultimately won the battle for Serena. With Lysandre retreating deeper into the lab via a locked elevator, Serena is left to explore the lab for the key to access it; one of the scientists that she met has a hold of it.

After minutes, Serena cleaned out the grunts and admins blocking her way, finally managing to find the Elevator Key she was looking for. Content, she followed Lysandre down the elevator.

Upon arrival, she ran into him in front of a jail cell containing a man... The same tall man that Serena met in the desert where the Power Plant was. The man went on to explain the history behind this ultimate weapon...

"A terribly long time ago… There was a man and a Pokémon. He loved that Pokémon very much. A war began. The man's beloved Pokémon took part in the war. Several years passed. He was given a tiny box. The man wanted to bring the Pokémon back. No matter what it took. The man built a machine to give it life. He brought his beloved Pokémon back. The man had suffered too much. His rage had not subsided. He could not forgive the world that had hurt the Pokémon he loved. He turned the machine into the ultimate weapon. The man became a bringer of destruction that ended the war. The Pokémon that was given life must have known… That the lives of many Pokémon were taken to restore its life. The resurrected Pokémon left the man."

Lysandre confirms the name of the tall man; AZ. His name is shared with the king of Kalos from 3,000 years ago. Taking the key to the weapon around AZ's neck, he went off to activate the weapon. Serena quickly followed.

In catching up, Serena was met with Lysandre's top scientist Xerosic, who, after a brief battle, gave her a choice between a red and a blue button to press. One activates the ultimate weapon, and the other doesn't. Serena chose the blue button, and as a result, the weapon did not activate. However, it was all for naught, as Xerosic activated the weapon regardless of her choice. The weapon successfully unearthed itself in the middle of Geosenge Town. Serena left for the place in a flash.

Serena enters the Team Flare HQ, hidden away underneath Geosenge Town. Lysandre was there to greet her and Calem, challenging Serena to a battle once again.

Rollodillo almost died from Mienshao, and Nessie once again took a huge beating, but Serena ultimately prevailed. Together with Calem, she heads down to the room of the ultimate weapon, still salvaging hope of stopping it...

Serena and Calem continuously fought through hordes of Team Flare members to get to where they are now... The main center of operations; the source of power for the ultimate weapon. After clearing out several admins, Serena was left alone with the mysterious object powering the machine. Swallowing her nervousness away, Serena stepped forward and... It awoke...

The object started to shine as it broke into several pieces, unleashing a powerful creature within. The Pokémon leapt down and in front of Serena, with an intimidating glare...

Upon seeing Serena, the legendary Xerneas studied her, countless times. Serena sent out Spitfire, anticipating a fight... But Xerneas calmly nodded at her, not detecting any malice. Sensing that it wanted to escape, Serena knew exactly what she had to do.

She had to capture Xerneas to stop the machine. And with one Quick Ball, she completed the task.

Xerneas was powerful. Surely Serena can use it to sweep through person after person... But out of the goodness in her heart, she kept the legend tucked away in the PC, never to be unleashed.

Calem and Shauna reunited with Serena, relieved that the legend was caught... But Lysandre wasn't as thrilled. Armed with a strange invention, he stepped up to battle Serena once more to get back Xerneas. The battle went smoothly... But Lysandre had a scary weapon up his sleeve.

The Gyarados that he had was capable of Mega Evolution, boosting its capabilities. Serena, wanting to match its power, sent Spitfire out and Mega Evolved him, and the two fought valiantly. Unfortunately, the stress ultimately took its toll on Spitfire, leaving him open for Gyarados to attack him with a brutal Outrage, ripping Spitfire to shreds and throwing him through the ceiling and out of the base. Rollodillo finished him off soon after.

Lysandre, not deterred, used what little power the weapon had to grant Serena and her friends eternal life... But the weapon's attack rebounded back upon itself, destroying the weapon, Team Flare's HQ, and Lysandre along with it.

The group of friends reunited, relieved that the worst was over, as they went off on their own journeys. AZ even approached, freed from his prison, offering his gratitude for stopping the weapon, but still lamenting over the revived Pokémon... His Pokémon.

It just hit Serena here and then; AZ was the former king of Kalos, still alive after 3,000 years due to the influence of the weapon.

As she looked down, Serena noticed something else rolling towards her...

Spitfire's Mega Stone.

Looking over, she noticed her poor Charizard, away from the rubble but heavily injured and beaten, in critical condition from what Lysandre's Gyarados threw at him. Serena sat by him, shedding tears as Charizard laid his head on her lap, struggling to breathe. Serena tried to soothe him by reminiscing the adventures the two spent since Lumiose City, which made Spitfire smile... Knowing his time was nearing, he gave Serena's hand one final weak lick before his injuries overcame him, dying by Serena's side.

Serena kept her Charizard close for a while before finding some residents to help bury the lizard within the town. Paying her respects with more tears in her eyes, Serena went off to bed, both anticipating her next step in her adventure and wondering what she can replace Spitfire with as she continues her journey...

Refreshed and rejuvenated, Serena resumes her journey, having finally found a replacement for her Charizard; the Goomy she captured a ways back in the marshlands leading to Laverre City - Smudges!

Serena strolled along on her way to Couriway Town, where her professor said to meet. As she walked, something lunged out at her in the bushes and managed to pack a punch against Nessie; a Durant! After some weakening, Serena caught the steel insect, nicknaming her "Rio." After some contemplating, Serena decided to add the bug to her team, replacing Toxacorp with it.

While training up her team, Serena's Goomy, Smudges, finally received enough power to evolve, bringing him one step closer to catching up with the rest of the team, turning into Sliggoo.

As Serena traveled, she encountered a man who is a master in a new type of battle style called Inverse Battle. Serena decided to try it out, and sadly, in her confusion of trying to understand how the battle style worked, her cherished Lapras, Nessie, got blasted with a powerful attack, killing her and enraging Serena, forcing her to completely annihilate the trainer using all the power she still had. Following the battle, Nessie was buried by Anistar's Pokémon Center. Now with half of her team underleveled, Serena had to focus her training even more as she brings her Panpour Oasis out to raise with her team.

Finally trained up after hours, Serena continues on her journey, shortly after helping Oasis evolve into Simipour using a Water Stone she collected on her journey.

Serena decided to take a detour through Terminus Cave and do some spelunking. While travelling, she accidentally tripped over a Graveler that was resting on the ground. The Rock Pokémon angrily stood up and lunged toward Serena, but a single Quick Ball managed to capture her. Serena named her "Topaz."
