it really wouldn't matter to me if he beacme a boss character in brawl as long as he becomes playable in the end then I'm fine with it, as for Ridley facing himself in adventure mode, it doesn't really matter, because when you would choose Bowser im Melee, then at the end you would face another Bowser, so a Ridley against Ridley in adventure really wouldn't be a problem

Thats true that you fight Bowser even if you choose Bowser in Melee, BUT the big difference is that Brawl's Aventure mode has a story, while Melee has no story. I wouldn't hate Brawl if it happens that Ridley winds up fighting himself, or that Bowser fights himself or whatever, but I would be disappointed. The story mode wouldn't be nearly as epic if it had you facing yourself without a reason behind there being two of you.

I do want to say also, that even though I do really want ridley in Brawl as playable, my second choice would be for him to AT LEAST be a Boss.

Lets hope that Ridley makes the cut!

Guys, Sakurai said Adventure Mode is a new Single Player experience. The first Smash game to have a storyline.

Bottom line: I don't think that you'll be able to choose your character at the begining.
Upside: No Ridley fighting Ridley.

Pfft. Do you honestly believe anyone is going to take your word for it? And you can't tell me that none of the characters revealed so far aren't just starters. But even if that was the case, what makes you believe Ridley is going to be a hidden or secret character? That's usually reserved for the surprise characters, or WTF guys. Ridey is a shoe in character, and everyone expects him to be in, just like Diddy Kong and Ike, who have already been revealed on the site. Haha I like your logic. Using math symbols makes any statement a fact, lol.

But, to get on topic, I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying you think Ridley will or won't be in Brawl? I can only slightly see what you mean regarding their similarities, but Samus still plays and feels different than Mario when you play as her. I think if Ridley has some things in common with Bowser, that is okay, but I don't think Ridley is built enough to look or act like Bowser.

Ridley is bonier, longer, and has wings, and I think these features alone would lend to a different style of play than the heavy, bulkier, and turtle-shelled Bowser. They could both do things like claw and bite and all that, but I imagine they would be different executions and different damage.

I like the idea of a Meta-ridley alternate costume for him. Having his other forms, like the red and his colors when infected by the parasite X are both good. I don't remember Ridley being pink, in any metroid games, though.

@ Shuma: Samus's pink outfit was a nod to her pink Varia suit from her first 2-d sidescrolling days, so it's not like they just made it up for brawl. Same goes for her purple/bluish suit, which is her gravity suit from super metroid.
