This might be off topic but since Sega have 3 characters from different franchise (Sonic, Bayonetta, and Joker) and if Sakurai did add in Heihachi, which other Namco characters would you choose? Although choosing between Yuri or Lloyd is definitely difficult.

After Heihachi I’d say give the Agumon Fans what they’ve been asking than you got the Ultimate Bandai-Namco Trinity of:
- PAC-MAN: The Foundation of Arcade & Video Game’s
- Heihachi Mishima: The Foundation of Modern Fighting Video Games
- Agumon: The Foundation of Video Games X Toys

otherwise Heihachi is All I need from Bandai-Namco

Not to mention people also want to see Agumon fight Pikachu, I mean I would like Heihachi just so they can add that one TEKKEN song from Snoop Dogg but I suppose I don't mind since like what Scott the Woz says one thing Smash Ultimate is not lacking is it's characters.

Agumon by far- (2)
I am a 90s kid, which means that the digital pet sensation was a big deal for me.
And also a fun toy that isn't represented.

Agumon is a unique shape. Has a unique mechanic in digivolving.
I actually would choose him before Heihachi. (3)
Who would of course be right afterwards.

And then Nightmare. (4)
THEN Lloyd. (5)

The only other I can think of is Klonoa

Maybe I'm bias since Vesperia is my first Tales game but I would choose Yuri. I mean I guess I don't mind Lloyd but his moves is basically Cress with two swords.

Though one could argue that Cress can be Lloyd's echo or vice versa

So I finally finished the Heihachi moveset I've been working on for quite some time. It features detailed descriptions and custom artworks of each moves and also features a stage explanation, how I would envision a trailer for him and also the music selection that would come with him. For anyone interested you can take a look at it here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uIvUZRWC5dajoyiJ6bq7q2rQhQcRdqky/view?usp=sharing

First off I’d like to thank everyone who helped me with the process of creating this moveset:
All art courtesy of DeZApurified , without whom this moveset would have looked a whole lot emptier and who put a lot of effort into drawing so many moves to make this moveset come to life.
Winturwulf, who helped me with a lot of decisions to find the best way to translate Tekken gameplay into Smash.
Ravio-of-Lorule for giving me his moveset template.
All three from GameFAQs
Also Zakhara Zakhara who came up with the idea of using Heihachi’s Crouch Dash as a Side Special.

Alright. Most of the important stuff has already been said in the moveset document.
I’ll post the links for the music here. I’m not saying Tekken should have these many tracks in Smash which would rival SNK’s amount of music, but this is a list of fan favorites from each game that I would list up if I were in Sakurai’s position so Namco can decide on which songs would get permission to use for Smash. I also tried to include popular songs from some other Namco franchises too so here’s the list:
Tekken 6 – Dist Thins Out (Character Select) This is the only song I’m confident of to be included as it was already shown alongside Heihachi’s Smash 4 costume https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tbmyL4-Iak

I didn’t include any spirits as I don’t care that much about them. Main characters like Jin, Kazuya and Nina should definitely be included, but none of the bosses as I explicitly included them in the stage so they wouldn’t also take away spirit slots from other characters in the game as they already have a designated role.I also did not include any Mii Costumes as I didn’t want to open yet another can of worms.

So that’s basically all. Comments, critical opinions and every other kind of feedback is appreciated. Thanks for reading!

JudgeHeihachi JudgeHeihachi I'm typing my comments out as I read through the document. I just started looking through the moveset, but I like how you included pictures to make it easier to visualize Heihachi in action - it's helpful since I'm not familiar with the specific moves of Tekken. Also, I find it hilarious that Kirby's used as the example opponent for the first two throws - it just looks so funny to see Heihachi beating up a cartoony pink puffball.

I like how you included stances and linked specials (not sure what the proper term is - like how he can go from Crouch Dash to either Wind God Fist, Jumping Mid Kick, or Hell Sweep depending on your inputs) as a gimmick to make him feel more like a Tekken character. The Hidden Input move looks downright intimidating, though I'm a fairly casual fighting game player who can't even input 360 degree inputs (like Zangief's specials in Street Fighter) regularly.

I'm not overly familiar with Tekken's stages or music, but the stage looks really interesting while referencing Tekken's history and gameplay. Everything about this is so detailed, and if this is what Heihachi's moveset is, and what came with him, I'd definitely be excited to play as him. (I'd say that I'd get him ASAP, but I already have the second Fighters Pass since I have no willpower when it comes to that sort of thing)

Thank you so much!
Haha yes the grab with Kirby really is hilarious. Credit for it goes to DeZA since a lot of the humor in the moves with other characters comes from him directly. I gave him a list of moves I needed drawn and he was given full liberty to include other characters and stuff he'd like to add to those images. He actually decided on Kirby because he was the easiest to draw and later noticed how funny it is because there's such a huge contrast in appeareance between Heihachi and Kirby, lol.
Yes without his images this moveset would be a whole lot more boring and yes that exactly was the intention: to make the moves understandable even if the viewer is not heavily involved with Tekken.
Yes attack link/string/chain are the correct words for it. Raijin Stance has often been discussed to be a perfect fit for a down-B due to the precedence of transformation characters using this input and the side-B was an idea from Zakhara who posted in this thread too.
I didn't want to go to overboard with gimmicks, but the goal was to have Heihachi feel like you are playing both Smash and Tekken. It's nice to hear that I seem to have found that balance!
Yes as a huge Tekken nerd I wanted to reference as many tidbits about Tekken's whole history as possible. That's also one of the reasons I choose the lesser known Tekken 1 ending jingle as his victory theme compared to more popular ones. I felt like this was a perfect fit as it played when Heihachi was shown animated in CGI for the first time.
The Hidden Input was more of a joke afterthought haha. I think in most cases when people tried to pull it off they'd probably spend too much time tingling the controll stick and get punished by the opponent for it haha. I definitely would have my fair share of problems too with it.
And yes if Sakurai really were to cram in so many Tekken references my fanboying self couldn't stop going crazy for the wait until he releases haha. I also bought the first Fighters Pass on release. I haven't bought the second one yet but will do the day the ARMS character releases.

Also wanted to add, you are my favorite mod here as you know such a huge variety of games and are interested in everything! Keep up the cool attitude!

Is it possible to say in this forum how much I’m having a Hard-on of how much I want this to be a Reality because this is 100% how I want Heihachi to be in this Game. The content with the Pack is the Cherry Top to make me want it so badly. As for one more detail to Add, I’d like to see his Base Alt. to be His Older Incarnation and have his Other Alt. to be the Younger Incarnation with both having identical Costumes of the other 6-Alts.

JudgeHeihachi JudgeHeihachi have you thought about posting that moveset/document in the Newcomer Speculation Thread? I figure that might help to get it more attention, and maybe convince people who haven't played Tekken that Heihachi could work in Smash, or that there's more to him than people might expect at first glance.

This might be off topic but since Sega have 3 characters from different franchise (Sonic, Bayonetta, and Joker) and if Sakurai did add in Heihachi, which other Namco characters would you choose? Although choosing between Yuri or Lloyd is definitely difficult.
I'd have to go with Nightmare, with Siegfried as an alt costume for him. Also for Siegfried he could wield the Soul Calibur instead of the Soul Edge.

Actually now that I've read a few comments above I believe a Digimon character in Smash would be pretty crazy to see as long as it can Digivolve into multiple forms (of course it would ).

Thanks! Oh yes I forgot to mention in the document that I wanted to have his young and old self as alts. Well his old self is mentioned in the trailer section so I guess I alluded to it in a way haha.
Nice work. Only major difference I'd expect is his b2 backfist ("Rashomon") and db2 low version ("Eishomon") sharing real estate as his fTilt.
Thank you! Yeah, Eishomon was the move I was the closest to considering for inclusion too, but I ran out of options and felt both that the other moves would be more fun and more iconic also.

Your are right Megadoomer Megadoomer , I should probably post it there. As I don't have too much experience with the Newcomer thread, should I just copy paste my post with the document there or just link to this thread here?

You can just copy and paste the whole post there. Maybe add in a bit about his young and old self being alts, to address that in advance.

Absolutely amazing moveset! The trailer too! This is perfect, the stances, the rushdown, the sheer brutality! I love the breakable walls gimmick for the stage, and the double final smashes...excellent. I also love how he teams with and then betrays Terry and Ryu, perfect!

Absolutely amazing moveset! The trailer too! This is perfect, the stances, the rushdown, the sheer brutality! I love the breakable walls gimmick for the stage, and the double final smashes...excellent. I also love how he teams with and then betrays Terry and Ryu, perfect!
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Oh yes that was definitely a reference I needed to include, lol! Him backstabbing Jin at the Tekken 3 ending was an inspiration for his betrayal of Ryu and Terry in this trailer scenario haha

If what Vergeben’s saying is true, any ideas of other guest appearance Heihachi has in store for? Because there’s only one source that he has to get this kind of information from, Nintendo. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that it’s Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Fighter Pass Volume 2

We should wait until he clarifies that this message is actually really from him.
If this information were to be indeed correct and Heihachi the next DLC after ARMS that would honestly fit into a lot of stuff like his missing Mii Costume and no other Namco content in the DLC cycle. If Namco were to get another character I can't really see someone else getting in over a Tekken character. Tekken has already been shown favorism over other Namco properties in numerous regards and since the Smash 4 times ended it became Namco's biggest franchise even overtaking Pac-Man with the release of Tekken 7.
If Vergeben's informations are correct it could also be a guest appeareance in Street Fighter V or King of Fighters 15 since SF and KoF properties in turn already appeared in Tekken so they might return the favor.
Either way I don't see that hurting his chances for Smash even if it were the case that it's just a SFV appeareance. But of course the sooner we'd get him the better, lol

Except, of course, for AGUMON!

Ah- the true two-three punch for Bandai Namco.
None of this swish swish, double sword action from more RPG lore.

What if ARMS 2 is real and Heihachi is in it. Lol

Seriously though, I can’t wait to see whatever he’s in since Heihachi is always entertaining. IF the information was real.

The other options for Heihachi being a guest DLC character are The King of Fighters XV, SoulCalibur VI, and Street Fighter V. But there are things making me doubt those.

- King of Fighters XV isn't out yet, so it wouldn't make sense for him to be DLC.
- He was already in SoulCalibur II. While it's possible he could return to the series, idk how likely that sounds.
- Street Fighters V's upcoming DLC was leaked and he's not present.

So Smash sounds like the most likely outcome if all this is true.

Oh the SF V DLC already leaked? If that's true then it would be a good sign for his chances in Smash (assuming Vergeben really stated this).

Oh, if only we could get Tekken and Mortal Kombat into Smash Bros. My little heart would be so happy.

I honestly didn't know that Heihachi was the Sony Soul Calibur character back then- I'm gonna go need to see how he fought in a sword based game.
Fun fact. I generally misspell Soul Calibur.

EDIT: Apparently he just doesnt use a sword. That was not particularly exciting of a mission.

Fun fact: despite being short-ranged he was among the most OP characters in that game

I agree. Having Street Fighter, Fatal Fury/The King of Fighters, Mortal Kombat, and Tekken all together in one game would be incredible.

IIRC I don't remember Heihachi's guest appearance being a DLC spot specifically. If this was for KOF XV he could easily be a base game fighter, but as it stands, we don't know anything about KOF XV at all other than it exists.

Oh, also should formally throw in my support.

I probably owe a lot of why I love video games to Tekken, and having it in Smash with a proper character would be nothing but excellent. Not a specific backer of any character, but considering its likely a Mishima, I've no issues throwing my lot here. Namco deserves a second rep, and no better man to do it than the grandpappy of 3D fighters himself I wager (sorry Virtua Fighter).

EDIT: also wanna say that getting another fighting game character in smash accomplishes 2 things for me: Smash continues to show more love for a genre that Smash fans ironically don't have much love for, and I get to see people rage about how hard those characters will be

(no I'm still not holding the disrespect the community at large initially showed Terry against them why do you ask)

Hi! New people are always welcome in this thread and thanks for supporting our favorite muscles grandpa too!
Yes I agree with your points too and Namco definitely really deserves to get a second character for all the effort and hard work they put in to deliver such a master piece as Smash Ultimate! And I really think Tekken is the best option for Namco's second rep for how much history and influence it had on both the Fighting Game Community and Gaming as a whole.

Oh yeah, a lot of Smash fans strangely don't like other fighting games. "Hat Ken" really was a travesty considering how much SNK did to shape fighting games and arcade-quality gaming at home. But you're right it's best to just ignore these detractors as their thought that Terry would be anything close to Ken has only proven they just don't know anything about what they're talking about and ultimately got the proof of their wrong evaluation when Terry was released and turned out to be one of the most unique and refreshing newcomers in Smash since a long time. And yes, seeing them rage over a hard character with in their opinion "broken mechanics" would indeed be a really sweet moment.

Heihachi makes me sad, but I'm riding the high of Min Min having Tekken mechanics, I can't lie. A shame, but at least he's in somehow. Still stings.

Wait do Mii costumes really means it's a sign of deconfirmed?

In Smash 4, the DLC Mii costumes were treated like consolation prizes for characters that couldn't make it in (Heihachi, Inkling, Geno, K. Rool, etc.). While there haven't been as many gut punches like that this time around, it still seems to be the case here. (here's hoping that it's not, though - it would be tough to confuse Heihachi's Mii costume with Heihachi himself, especially if they go with Heihachi's old man form)
