Well at least I should be able to make it for Labor Day weekend, It's extremely unlikely I'll be busy then.

Oliver is coming to Xanadu. Maybe you can hitch a ride with him.

And CTL you have no johns for not coming to Xanadu. It's like 15 minutes from EC at most. Also you should come to our Labor Day smashfest. It's gonna be huge.

Originally Seagull was going to drive me from EC, but since he has work, the plan is now for me to go to CP and Wenzel will drive me. I'll probably have a decent sleeping schedule by then though.

I'll consider Labor Day.

At least we know our buildings can withstand this much of an earthquake. Who knows what would have happened if it were only a bit stronger.

Smash to recover.

I know who it is. I'm just unsure of the proper form of address since we don't really know each other irl.

Normally people that experienced the natural disaster don't make or laugh at jokes about said occurrence.

But ****ing is Mow so good.
you're right, let's cry about it instead, they're equally effective anyway.

i pretty much just want to play smash with people. i guess i can do friday night if that's not weird for you guys.

If it was just a little stronger, it would have been pretty disastrous. Glad everyone's alright. Something I am a little worried about is that some structures are a little weakened now, and Irene might finish it off...

I regret to inform everyone that after this Labor Day fest, I will not be able to attend any more smashfests in the forseeable future. Not only do I still have Blizzcon that I need to finish paying off (plus expenses for the actual trip besides air fare and the hotel), but the battery for my computer has also died, which means I'll probably have to end up buying a new computer, which could cost anywhere in the vicinity of $600-$1,000 depending on various factors. That coupled with the current tightness of money means that I will probably be flat broke for a good amount of time. I'll show up to the next two fests since I already said I was going to, and I may end up going to the Renn faire since I more or less committed to that. But after that I doubt I'll be able to do anything till probably the beginning of next year hopefully.

Sorry fellas :(.

Well, we can always visit right? We don't necessarily need to always have an event to hang out, do we?

On a related note, I'm gonna start looking for a job near Laurel JCz. If I secure something suitable I'll let you konw.

what you actually said was that you'll replace your battery, a commonly replaced piece of a computer and it will function regularly again, and that you'll be attending events with me when i'm driving since i don't give a damn about little problems.

money isn't a good reason to give up something you enjoy. unless you enjoy not having money. yeah.

^ What he said. If it's that big of a deal, I'll cover you for food and stuff. Don't worry about it.

And you can get a solid new computer for a hell of a lot cheaper than that. Stop looking at Macs. Tell me what you're looking for in a computer (laptop/desktop, gaming power, etc) and I'll keep my eye out for sales.

cmart, that's awesome news! I really wanna move the **** out of here.

I appreciate the generosity from both of you, but I already feel bad enough about last month at Otakon and owing around 5 different people. Not including the fact that I still owe you and cmart for last weekend. I'd rather not have to put myself in that situation again.

Also I was told that you either A.) couldn't replace a graphics card or B.) couldn't replace a graphics card cheaply enough not to warrant buying a new machine altogether, so I was under the impression that replacing a much more integral part of your computer such as the battery would be equally as impossible. I'm about to head over to the Apple store in just a moment to see how much it would cost for a new battery.

As far as a new computer is concerned, first and foremost I'm looking for a laptop. As far as specs are concerned, I'm thinking somewhere around the ballpark of a dual core 2.4Ghz processor, 2 GB RAM, and 512 MB Nividia GeForce, 8800 GTX, or ATI Radeon HD 3870 or better graphics card.

And no, don't mistake this as me knowing jack about computers. I just read off the recommended specs for Starcraft 2, which is all that I really require :). Anything else would be just a formality.

Oh I know.. I finally got a decent computer in May, and slapped myself for not doing so years ago. I always relied on the integrated card in my laptop... *shudder*

Your specs will be easily satisfied for $500. For $1000 you can get an epic laptop these days.

that's basically what friends are for, pissing them off and taking their **** and then they still hang around you because they want to. if people didn't want you to owe them anything, they wouldn't have helped you in the first place. we call these people "strangers".

and a mac? really? why would you intentionally pay money to do that to yourself? do the words "strictly worse" mean anything to you?

Actually I really like Westminster. Our BWW is second to none. I'm just really getting sick of the commute to work (I spend something like $600 a month on gas) and of course not living with my mom would be a big plus.

Still cheaper than getting my own place closer to my work though :p That's why I'd really like to have a roommate before I move.

Starting like 6, though I don't think Yeroc is supposed to get here till 8 or 9. And yes, we're going to Xanadu.

You missed quite a bit haha. You wanna hang tonight? Someone in the PMBR from NC is stopping by, and TH and cmart are coming as well.
