So sorry, I have no clue where the first one of these is, but can Dragon Lunge be a semi-effective tomahawk? Like, use the ground jump but not the lance to bait a shield? Or is this a bad idea?

It can be used this way, but you're stuck in the jump animation till you land, so it's a small bit of a risk, but since pin is so fast, you can usually get away with it.
