All the other D&D threads are from 2008.

So 5e/Next is about to come out. Let's talk about. They've decided to just call it "Dungeons & Dragons" unless they specifically need to differentiate it by calling it "5th Edition" or something. Eh, whatevs.

I was in the playtest so I got to check some stuff out (I'm actually in a playtest group right now, while we waste the time away waiting for the official release). I really like it, I gotta say. I had previously only played 4e and I think 5e is an improvement in almost every way. Not sure if I'll feel that way as the levels get higher, though. My group played 4e until like, level 29 or something, for 4 years.

I tend to play a Rogue or a Ranger; I just like their style the best, and I'm playing a Rogue in my current campaign. You can read more about my Rogue here, where I typed up a whole thing.

I had considered it. But the Light House description does day "General gaming discussion" and the Pool Room is just "General Discussion."

I'll tell you one thing for sure, there is a definite lack of tabletop appreciate on these forums! /grumpyoldman

We've barely gotten past the teens in the years we've spend playing DnD. I'm not planning on swapping Ed's unless everyone else wants to, and considering the cash we've all put in on the books, combined with how infrequent we play, I can't see us swapping Ed's any time soon.

I haven't played in years but I do love me some 3.5

I've played as various classes, tend to lean to Rangers or Druids though.

I'm incredibly active on the Dungeons & Dragons Wiki (well, "incredibly active" is a stretch; I tend to be more active in autumn and winter for some reason). Check out my homebrew sometime. Currently, I'm trying to figure out how I want to implement the Beldam from Coraline; I'm stuck at the concept of "illusion-specialist spider-fairy that creates a pocket dimension to lure its prey into its clutches".
