"Yeah, my bad Samus was a woman before Chun Li was conceived, but Chun Li still lead the revolution of more female heroes in gaming."
That makes no sense... if Chun li was conceibed after Samus that means it was Samus who lead the "revolution".

Gotta give credit where it's due. But either way, Samus AND Chun Li are often considered the original game girls.

I think it's best to say that while Samus is the original videogame heroine, Chun Li is the one who popularized videogame heroines.
Yes, it is what most of you guys say. Not sure if there was any vg heroine before Samus, so she is considered the pioneer of vg heroines, problem is that it was not often that Samus could be seen as that because well, thanks to her armor people hardly relate her to be a woman.
Between Samus and Chun Li not sure if there could had been another heroine, most of the female vg characters where usualy damisels in distress but it was untill the arrival of Chun Li on Street Fighter when female vg characters where considered more seriously!
So this would make Samus and Chun Li as the video game heroine queens, and it would be cool if we could see them fight for the title on Brawl! Next to them, the other heroine who would come close is Lara Croft, but as she is hardly known in Japan; she does not have enough fame as Chun Li and Samus plus she is a western character. Besides, both Samus and Chun Li could kick Lara's arse!

That pretty much sums it up right there. Like I said before, it really wasn't really common knowledge that Samus was a female under all that armor up until even fairly recently, but there really was never any question as to what Chun Li's gender was now was there?
