The Big House 4 Schedule and Pool Information
October 4-5, 2014

The tournament schedule for The Big House 4 is a bit more complicated than usual this year. We’ve separated the initial field of entrants into four waves in order to accommodate players who are entering multiple events. The number of waves you’ll play in depends on the number of events you entered. Although the TO staff is spending dozens of hours scheduling and seeding entrants appropriately, you are still responsible for checking your own pool assignments (TBD) and informing us if there are any wave conflicts.

The tournament schedule revolves around four phases throughout the weekend. Refer to the schedule below while reading:

Phase 1 - Saturday

Phase 1 occurs on Saturday from 11am-7pm, featuring the initial field of entrants separated into four waves. All four events (Melee Singles, Melee Doubles, PM Singles, PM Doubles) will be happening concurrently during this phase of the tournament. You are responsible for checking your pool assignments (TBD), which will inform you of your wave and pool number (ex: Pool B16 means you’re playing in Wave B at Station 16). Please check-in at least 10 minutes before your pool.

Saturday 11am-1pm: Wave A
Saturday 1pm-3pm: Wave B
Saturday 3pm-5pm: Wave C
Saturday 5pm-7pm: Wave D

Phase 2 - Saturday Evening

Phase 2 occurs on Saturday from 8pm-12am, featuring the entrants who advanced from Phase 1 separated into two waves. Two events (Melee Singles, PM Singles) will be happening concurrently during this phase of the tournament. You are responsible for checking your pool assignments (TBD), which will inform you of your wave and pool number (ex: Pool B16 means you’re playing in Wave B at Station 16). Please show up at least 10 minutes before your pool.

Saturday 8pm-10pm: Wave E
Saturday 10pm-12am: Wave F

Phase 3 - Sunday

Phase 3 occurs on Sunday from 10am-4pm, featuring the entrants who advanced from Phase 2. All four events (Melee Singles, Melee Doubles, PM Singles, PM Doubles) will be playing out their final brackets during this phase of the tournament. Please show up at least 10 minutes early.

Sunday 10am-1pm: PM Singles Top 32, Melee Doubles Top 16
Sunday 1pm-4pm: Melee Singles Top 32, PM Doubles Top 8

Phase 4 - Sunday Evening

Phase 4 occurs on Sunday from 4pm-10pm, featuring the entrants who advanced from Phase 3. Two events (Melee Singles, PM Singles) will be playing out their Top 8 finals, each set streamed after the other, during this phase of the tournament. Please show up at least 10 minutes early.

Sunday 4pm-7pm: PM Singles Top 8
Sunday 7pm-10pm: Melee Singles Top 8

FAQ

Where are pool assignments?

http://tbh4.challonge.com/

When should I arrive?
* If you are bringing any equipment, you must check-in by 10am Saturday to allow the TO staff time for venue preparations.
* If you aren’t bringing equipment, check your pool assignments and make sure you check-in at least 10 minutes before your earliest pool begins.

Can I arrive on Friday?
Yes, please do! Venue opens at 9pm Friday. You will be able to check-in a lot faster and you won’t have to deal with the Saturday morning rush at the venue. Furthermore, check-in on Friday gets you an extra discount if you’re bringing equipment.

How do I know when or where my pool will be?
Pools will be labeled with a letter and number, which indicate the wave (time) and station number (location). For example, Pool B16 will occur during Wave B at Station 16 in the venue.

Any other questions, email the TO staff at michigansmash@gmail.com.
