Tech-chasing; best CPU to practice on?

Hey all,

My tech-chasing and throw-followup game is severely lacking and I want to improve in this area. Is there a certain CPU that has completely random techs? I've practiced with C. Falcon but he seems to never techroll in, always away or in place. Other CPU's don't tech at all. I'm on 3.6 beta by the way.

Well, the computers all have some sorta habits you'll pick up on, whether you know it or not that may or may not differ from players you'll fight. lf you want to purely practice techchases, why not look into the 20XX Melee training hack? I know they have a lot of options that you can tell the CPUs to do, like always grab out of shield to see what's safe, infinite shield to practice pressure, and so much more. There's probably a random tech option too. To my knowledge, Roy's movement isn't different from Melee to PM, so it wouldn't be that difference.

For actual advice, look at how the opponent DI's your attacks. lf they're holding out, they'll probably roll away, if they are holding in, that's probably a tech towards you. Along with that, maybe listening to what buttons your opponent's pressing will help in friendlies if you want to be THAT guy (which l am, it's so fun getting 12 grabs in a row on a real person).

Sorry to not see any earlier replies.
