I know there is tons of serious speculation regarding newcomers for Ultimate but this one is mainly for fun (based on no leaks, no info, just pure HYPE for Ultimate and pure LOVE for Pokemon games).
But let's say there's a few arguments, at least two: Pokemon Let's go Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee
With Pokemon Trainer coming back for Ultimate, we're also getting back the concept of switchable characters/pokemon. I thought it would be fun to speculate on a potential newcomer of this type:
POKEMON AND MOVESETS IDEAS
Like Pokemon trainer, this bad boy could have 3 Pokemon at his disposal. As in the Pokemon series, Team Rocket's Pokemon are almost only focused on physical attacks and sometimes Poison (not much special/elemental attacks).
Poison effect could be easy enough to translate into Smash mechanics, for example if a character is 'poisoned' it gets some damage overtime ( % during a few seconds, no staggering effect, much like thrown Pikmins).
Just like Pokemon trainer,
could be used to switch between pokemon.
RATATAT (speedy, small, small hurtbox, Squirtle like)
: Hyper Fang (bites, small hitbox, powerful but relatively slow attack)
: Tail Whip (much like Mario's cape)
: Quick Attack (variant on Pikachu's)
GRIMER or MUK (slow, heavy but powerful, medium hurtbox, Ivysaur like)
: Sludge Bomb (throws a sludge ball as projectile, chances of inflicting Poison)
: Poison Gas (liberates a cloud of poison gas, deals no direct damge but inflicts Poison on those passing through it)
: (no idea for now)
ARBOK (medium speed, heavy, good range on jabs, tilts and smashes, agile and powerful, big hurtbox, Charizard like)
: Poison Sting (rapid fire for a short period, a mix of Charizard's Flamethrower and Shiek's darts, chances of inflicting Poison )
: Glare (temporarly freezes the enemy, much like Zero suit Samus stun gun but quicker and always short range)
: Wrap (leaps into the air and wraps around an enemy or bites onto the ledge, similar mechanic as Ganondorf Up B)
ALTERNATE COSTUMES IDEAS
Team Aqua
Team Magma
Team Galaxy
Team Plasma
Team Flare
Team Skull
Team Rainbow
Male and Female
FINAL SMASH IDEAS
-Venoshock (much stronger if the enemy is affected by Poison).
-Giovanni arrives and throws Rhydon or Nidoqueen into battle.
-'Lake of Rage' a machine disturbs the red Gyarados who goes berserk.
