with the tennis to baseball thing....no I wasn't referring to daisy specifically.
But Baseball and tennis are similar....ball+bludgeoning object=progress
Peach is also like this, and I'm pretty sure everyone else is aswell

Found it (From Power tennis):
Character - Skill type
Mario - All Around
Luigi - All Around
Peach - Technique
Waluigi - Defense
Bowser - Power
Donkey Kong- Power

* Mario – All-Around
* Luigi – All-Around
* Princess Peach – Technique
* Donkey Kong – Power
* Waluigi – Defense
* Bowser – Power

^my computer sucks at multitasking so I'll get more links to back me up

In advanced tour you can upgrade your characters stats with experience...
In Toadstool Tour, you were not allowed to upgrade your characters stats...
That doesn't matter, that is player controlled, which shouldn't count IMO

Not yoshi...yoshi's too good for dat!

Deciding which kind of vehicle to use is in MKWii is player controlled...:p
which character you use is player controlled...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Golf_Toadstool_Tour
^that isn't....
the second game with manueverable stats...(read the star character part)
equals the number of games with initial set stats...

^the fact that stats are maneuverable in two out of 4 games, shows the inconsistency in the series....

I can't find any stat that actually shows me the charts...only things that talk about how their stats are set...

EDIT:what does the "*" mean?

So what I'm getting here is that stuff like the Mario tennis, baseball and kart games count for Luigi, but he can't use his hammer when he clearly uses it in:

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time

Maybe I'm just missing something or I'm just dumb :p

a brief correction of myself...two out five games that have changeable stats...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Golf_(video_game)
again wikipedia, nor even the mario wiki has the stat charts

But I have the N64 "Mario Golf", the Gameboy rendition of it, Toadstool tour and Advanced tour...(I think they may have the NES golf on Wii shop channnel cuz I want to play it...>.>)

Anyway Noticeable differences
Mario and Peach have more control in TT than in "Mario Golf"
Yoshi has a little more power...
Luigi lost control...

(times like this I wish I had a super cool camera to take pictures....:'()

Nothing, just a part of the list.

EDIT: Did you read my last edit?
the one about the LoZ?
lemme see here...*goes to page 292*

EDIT: But Zelda is in every LoZ game and each rendition captures the qualities of what make Zelda, Zelda...
but....I'm not sure whether she had a bow in every game...that could be a point of conflict....(DUN DUT DUUUUN!)
plus who needs Light Arrows anyway? >.> oh wait...

I don't object to Luigi using the hammer....

Unclesam, diddy isnt a chimp because he has a tail, and lacks the super lanky arms, etc

thats why we compare him to a large baboon

Let's just take that out.

Those titles aren't considered canon and have no place here. Moreover, carrying all that stuff with him is ridiculous.

A more plausible Luigi would be from Super Mario World or the RPGs.

So, baboon.... How much stronger than a human?

People can change there stats in real life too people get faster more controlled etc.

Even if changeable stats shouldn't it helps my point.

@Marthage: I never argued for a baseball bat, and for the kart why wouldn't he come in with it?

EDIT: I remeber we also gave Peach her baseball bat.

EDIT: But Zelda is in every LoZ game and each rendition captures the qualities of what make Zelda
But they are not canon, it's a split timeline.

Too bad Yoshi became crap when they replaced his voice with a chipmunk in Mario Kart Wii :(
I had to move on to King Boo . . . it was bittersweet . . .

The only reason I can see as to why Luigi CAN'T use the hammer is the fact that it's too big making it too heavy to pick up.

If Diddy Kong is categorized as a chimpanzee, this read this to see a Chimpanzee's real strength.
JOE tell it to rel, I just read that diddy was a chimp from him and put down the correct info

and why are we talking about mario spinoff games? me confused *goes to post in disco room*

Changeable stats shouldn't count.
the fact of its presence shows the inconsistency that rules it out from canon

People can change there stats in real life too people get faster more controlled etc.

Even if changeable stats shouldn't it helps my point.
but why would Luigi lose control?
practice makes worse?

another key note is the addition of non-mario characters to some of the games in the series...
Plum? there are some others named in the links I posted...

Also...on the old flagship point I dropped...
do you consider Sonic Riders canon or no? or Shadow the Hedgehog?
I would say no because sonic's mainstream game genre is Action/adventure...go through stages and beat doctor eggman...
Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2,3
Sonic and Knuckles
Sonic Advance 1,2, and 3
Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)
Sonic Unleashed
Sonic and the Secret Rings.
^platformer...canon.

Sonic Riders has Sonic on a skateboard doing tricks...doesn't hurt the storyline, but is completely unrelated to it...Sonic Riders ZG follows suit...Sonic isn't doing anything spectacular by winning races, he's not progressing through zones and beating eggman at the end of each and every one of them...

we could trace the same pattern with Mario games..

Mario's mainstream games are the platformer action adventure games...
Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario World, advances 1,2, and 3
Super Mario RPG
Paper Mario(in a sense you're still roaming worlds trying to stop bowser...and some other evil entitiy)
Super Star Saga (falls into the same sense as paper mario)
Super Mario Galaxy
^this is Nintendo's platformer game set...action adventure...canon...

the sports series, while not disturbing the storyline that is set by the known series...is completely unrelated to it....it brings close to none of the recurring attributes of the characters from the platform games into it. You're not saving mushroom kingdom by hitting a golf ball, or by winning a set in tennis...

If Diddy Kong is gonna be a Baboon, then he's some baboon info:

they have long canine fangs.
they don't scare easily, even by humans.
they can take down a chettah or leapord, but if they're in a group.
they're aggressive.
they scream like crazy.
they are very promiscuous animals aka horny.

http://www.encyclopedia.com/topic/baboon.aspx

http://southafrican-wildlife.blogspot.com/2009/02/baboon-facts.html

http://www.outtoafrica.nl/animals/engbaboon.html

I still haven't found anything concerning a baboons strength D:

If we're going with this, then fangs will do in Luigi. Even though Diddy Kong doesn't have any fangs visible, if we're comparing him with a baboon then he gets everything.

His screams will scare the crap out of Luigi because we all know how much of a wimp Luigi. That's his character. It's gonna affect him.

I > Falcon v1.0, sorry.
That's a bigger lie than saying Ganon is God Tier.

Taking down cheetas is not that impressive IMO. They are just small-big cats.

They even behave and meow like a kitty when they are not hunting.

And they fail at hunting a lot of times.

Wasn't Lucario a really bi- *is shot*

His post just supports the face **** kill idea.

Find strength diff. soon, kay? ;)
Landing a hammer strike dosent need you to hold the hammer a second down and then attacking.

You can just attack with it.

RL =/= Games. In rl you dont need to wait until the "hammer shakes" or the light get red for you to hit with it

I am going neutral in this fight.

Who here has used a hammer and tried to swing it around like a weapon?

I have, but I want to see how many people have done the same.

weight of the hammer, if it's a really big hammer or the person wielding it is just that weak, if he/she swings it without control it will throw him/her off balance.
just sayin

Look at the size of that thing, Tocador.
It's very heavy.

The idea that there won't be even a slight amount of lag when using it is absurd.
And, if we're using Luigi's strongest hammer, I'm not even sure if he could lift it(must check)

Besides, the chances of Luigi actually hitting anything with the hammer is very low.

1.Luigi tries to hit Diddy while he's rushing. Misses and gets face *****.
2.Luigi tries to hit with the hammer while he's getting face *****. Diddy drops and Luigi gets hurt.
3.Luigi is getting face ***** and drops the hammer. The end.

Diddy is just too swift.

*Checking golden hammer atm*

No it doesn't, it's inconsistent because it's player controlled and as I said beforeeven if it did count it prove my point in the below sentence, you're basically chosing what skills they have so they COULD have the same stats from before, it doesn't really make sense to make something up so I don't think it should count. And I don't really consider Karts to be part of the sprts games but whatever.
If you're counting other games then they are practically super human :l.

but why would Luigi lose control?
practice makes worse?
He could be practicing in other things, thing do get better and worse

another key note is the addition of non-mario characters to some of the games in the series...

New characters =/= Non-Canon

Also...on the old flagship point I dropped...
do you consider Sonic Riders canon or no? or Shadow the Hedgehog?
Yes, I would if they it didn't conflict with the storyline.

I would say no because sonic's mainstream game genre is Action/adventure...go through stages and beat doctor eggman...
Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2,3
Sonic and Knuckles
Sonic Advance 1,2, and 3
Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)
Sonic Unleashed
Sonic and the Secret Rings.
^platformer...canon.
Platform =/= Canon, if they didn't complete the story line in Sonic Riders the world would have been taken over/destroyed.

So? It's not Important, it's still doesn't conflict.

we could trace the same pattern with Mario games..

Mario's mainstream games are the platformer action adventure games...

Super Mario World, advances 1,2, and 3

I could argue that Super Mario RPG isn't action/adventure or isn't that same as other canon Mario games, Does that make it non-canon?

EDIT: Woah what happened to the quote up top?

People have been able to tame lions, bears and tigers; in the wild, you'd be running for your life if you saw one.

Also, new fact about baboons.

they're very promiscuous animals.

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaace raaaape.

Basic hammer breaks weak boulders
Super breaks harder rocks
Ultra breaks large boulders

For that to be possible, the hammer would have to be made of stronger material. Materials that make it very heavy. Think about it.

Large Size+Heavy head=Difficult to use irl.

But, that depends on what hammer he's using.

This is a sledgehammer, and they are extremely difficult to swing around even when the tip is very small, requiring strong and muscular men to wield them properly(they weight 20 lbs). And not only that, the shape itself hinders it's speed.

Now make that 4 times bigger for Luigi's sledgehammer and you got something too heavy for Luigi to wield, unless the hammer is made from a light and weak material.
