Changeable stats shouldn't count.
the fact of its presence shows the inconsistency that rules it out from canon
People can change there stats in real life too people get faster more controlled etc.
Even if changeable stats shouldn't it helps my point.
but why would Luigi lose control?
practice makes worse?
another key note is the addition of non-mario characters to some of the games in the series...
Plum? there are some others named in the links I posted...
Also...on the old flagship point I dropped...
do you consider Sonic Riders canon or no? or Shadow the Hedgehog?
I would say no because sonic's mainstream game genre is Action/adventure...go through stages and beat doctor eggman...
Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2,3
Sonic and Knuckles
Sonic Advance 1,2, and 3
Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)
Sonic Unleashed
Sonic and the Secret Rings.
^platformer...canon.
Sonic Riders has Sonic on a skateboard doing tricks...doesn't hurt the storyline, but is completely unrelated to it...Sonic Riders ZG follows suit...Sonic isn't doing anything spectacular by winning races, he's not progressing through zones and beating eggman at the end of each and every one of them...
we could trace the same pattern with Mario games..
Mario's mainstream games are the platformer action adventure games...
Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario World, advances 1,2, and 3
Super Mario RPG
Paper Mario(in a sense you're still roaming worlds trying to stop bowser...and some other evil entitiy)
Super Star Saga (falls into the same sense as paper mario)
Super Mario Galaxy
^this is Nintendo's platformer game set...action adventure...canon...
the sports series, while not disturbing the storyline that is set by the known series...is completely unrelated to it....it brings close to none of the recurring attributes of the characters from the platform games into it. You're not saving mushroom kingdom by hitting a golf ball, or by winning a set in tennis...
EDIT: Woah what happened to the quote up top?
lol fixed...and bolded for you
