Editing?
Well, first of all, those hex views....are LIVE...meaning you just edit right there!
The problem is REBUILDING.

Rebuilding the file requires knowledge of almost the entire file, so you can make split the file into pieces, insert data here and there, and reassemble the file so that the game still recognizes it. Tabuu/OpenSA3 labels every single byte it knows, and color codes the hex view.

As a result, any unknown data can easily be found, analyzed, etc.
Also, there are a few structures I can read fine...but I dont know what they do. I found glide data, and multijump physics...but..I dont know what the values do exactly.

With a framework like ive created, you guys can start helping me search through files WITHOUT much knowledge of the file format, or even hexing.

Wait, glide data? Are you saying I could theoretically, if I added an animation for it, give Ganon a glide?

I have been surprised at the amount of things that PSA can't edit...

Well, recent your works are awesome. Good luck and please show me perfect moveset editor !
If I have finished BrawlBox PSA editor, people may think it plagiarism. It's a half-correct answer:p

Intriguing, and highly so.
Looks awesome, and I'll be keeping my eye on this, Dant.
If this program is as intuitive as I hope it'll be judging from your post up there, than it'll open up countless new windows of opportunities even for the majority of us who aren't too familiar with hexing. Thanks for going through the trouble of making this for us.
Oh, and hype x1000

This is amazing. Also, I just got amazingly happy when I saw a section with things titled hurtbox.

are you suggesting that that has something to do with the specials not doing anything?

I see a list of people in the chat box...quick everyone, let's harass them for MORE INFO JUST LIKE WE DID TO PW BEFORE. :D

Seriously though, to use the initials PW in any message/topic name and not get reprimanded for it instantly means you are awesome. PW is Brawl lingo for awesome.

The SSE attributes kinda interest me. 1-Player hacking is kind of unloved, compared to multiplayer.

Check out the BrawlBox Modset thread. I'm working on SSE files, mainly those which control enemy/boss attributes.

Cool, can't wait for it all :3

And I still need to take a look at the OSA3 Source. I took a gander at OSA2 a bit back but never bothered to check OSA3. Maybe I'll do that sometime tomorrow after I work on some stuff for school (9 more days of summer, and I have to do some stupid project ;-; )

Err.... we already have a module editor by Phantom Wings, which is open in one of the windows.
But.... unless you know Brawl's ASM, you might have a hard time understanding it.

That hex editor will come in very handy. Can't wait for this thing to come out. You said that the editor is live, so that means that any edit you put into it will apply to the file? Or is it like a memory emulator where it will affect gameplay (like a code)?
