Hi people,

Since character loyalty is my favorite way of playing Smash, I want to know if you experienced character loyalty and what does it mean to you as a player and as a person (or if you know someone in your scene who has character loyalty). As my signature states, I am a:4mario:specialist, because I love him in every single game due to his flexible playstyle, his ''fun'' and ''wow'' factor of landing a satisfying combo and my overall nostalgia with the character and the Super Mario franchise. I used to really love characters like:4falcon::4lucina::4sonic::4shulk:, but I lost interest in them or they have something that kept me from enjoying them unlike Mario. Character loyalty means a lot of things to me not just in the game (understand how Mario works in every Smash installment and attempt to optimize each version of the red plumber), but also to life itself (how I am as a person). I don't consider Mario to be my best friend in the world of Smash, but I treat him as my Smash Bros. avatar. I will always stay Mario no matter how tough my opponents are (aka never counterpicking because I feel it's lame in general). If I would be loyal to a second character, I would consider him or her to be my best friend (or a secondary) and nothing more, because to be honest and imo, you cannot have two avatars (or mains). It's impossible. It's like if you're in a love triangle between two people you really care about, and you don't want that generally speaking xD (because you're faced with a tough decision). What do you guys think? Am I the only one who thinks that way? Let me know. I would love to hear your thoughts and stories. :)

I love Lucina more than I love myself and that's why I use her.
The only other character I can really say I like in this game other than her is Zelda, but it's not even 1/100 of what I feel for Luci.
The day I drop Lucina will be the day I just quit this game completely.

This is a really interesting thought.

Marth and one of the versions of Samus are characters I have always played in Smash. I came to love them as characters through Smash, and are now two of my all time favourite characters. Luckily, they have always been good enough to use.

Rosalina is my 2nd favourite video game character of all time. While she's only been in one Smash game, I would consider myself loyal to her, seeing as I used her since day 1, like Marth and Samus(s), and is somebody who I often use alongside the next character in Mario games.

Bowser is my all time favourite video game character. However, in Smash, his playstyle just doesn't excite me, so unfortunately I am not loyal to him in Smash. Admittedly, his playstyle in Smash 4 is a little more fun. Outside of Smash, Bowser is usually my 1st go-to-guy if he's there.

I have also never dropped Bayonetta since she dropped back in February 2016. I continued to use her after her nerfs in May 2016 because I use her because I just love her games and her as a character. Another character I would consider myself loyal to.

I say! I've stuck by Peach most of the time since playing Melee (:peachmelee:), Brawl (:peach:), and 4 (:4peach:). I do enjoy her tricky learning curve and how her attacks were designed. Not to mention a lucky pull of a stitch-face turnip or Bob-omb can turn **** around for me which rocks. I recently had :zeldamelee: grow on me but I cannot say the love I show for her is quite up there with Peach, so...

Ever since early this year, :4lucina: and :rosalina: I have found myself playing more of. Yes, I still use :4peach: but their M.O. of zoning characters out spoke to me. This is why I secondary :4bowserjr: also but it ain't close to the affection I show for the swords woman and the time-space queen. I also consider myself loyal to :4miibrawl::4miisword::4miigun:, playing them often as Lucy and Rosa. The Miis I've created are my family, I'd philosophize.

Yeah...everybody else is all well and good, but the characters y'all sugar pies see in my signature I shan't ever drop since I like the way they play and their character designs.

I'll make this as short as possible.

:rosalina: She is, without a doubt, my all time favorite Mario character ever since she first made her presence known in Mario Galaxy with her elegance. I absolutely adore her as a character and I really loved her charming, yet tragic storybook. As such, she will always be the only Mario rep I'll ever play as in Smash for all eternity, no matter how good or bad she is.
:4link: What can I say. He's perhaps my all time favorite video game character ever. When I played as him in Smash 64, I never played a Zelda game nor didn't know anything about it until I played Twilight Princess over a decade later. Then I played Ocarina of Time. Then I played the other Zelda games and I eventually became a fan of the series.
:4cloud: I played Final Fantasy VII like two months after he was announced for Smash. I loved every minute of that game and he eventually became one of my favorite video game characters ever. It's thanks to him that I started playing Final Fantasy games.
