I just got done with the canyon and found stuff out about Red XIII (*sob*).

How far am I?

That's about 60% of the way through disc 1.
So about 30% of the way through the game without sidequests.
25% with.

Next stop in Nibelheim which is incredibly short if you don't go into the manor which is the path to getting Vincent and some story.

So here's a question.

For those of you who have played Final Fantasy VII, what do you think of the playable characters and why?

Cloud: Not my favorite FF protagonist and spends far too long NOT being himself. Once you get about a third of the way through Disc 2 and he finally starts going full, he's an entertaining and really likable character. Crisis Core gives him a level of "dorkiness" fitting how much he'd flounder early on. Most things SINCE dig into the "emo" aspect which has almost nothing in FF7 itself and basically sparked from KH's implimentation of him and carried through.

Barret: Discount Mr. T trying to be a good dad who has one particularly heart wrenching arc around Junon and the Gold Saucer and then goes back to being Discount Mr. T who occasionally references his daughter. Only getting spotlight when events happen with the Junon reactor.

Tifa: Overrated. The best she gets is threatening to rip The Don's sack off in Sector 6 and otherwise mostly comes a bystandarder with the emotional fragility fitting a princess more than a woman raised to fight and spent the last few years running a bar in a slum.

Aerith: Once again ruined by the compilation of FF7 but great in the original. More or a flirt with Cloud than even Tifa. Just as much of a badass despite being a "mage" by design. Not to mention that part of FF7's plot included her convincing Cloud to dress up as a woman and got it to be convincing.

Red XIII: A bit of a Barrett situation where he starts off as this fairly mysterious lion person, has his one major arc in Cosmo Canyon, and fades away into being the fairly sagely voice of reason until Bugenhagen becomes important again.

Cait Sith: A character that doesn't get enough credit for the tragic & dramatic writing around him. And GODS if he doesn't become one of the most punchable people with the compilation of FF7 because of that voice and how he's just devolved to comic relief.

Cid: THIS MAN IS 32. BARRETT IS 35. WHY CID IS THE CROTCHEDY OLD GRANDPA I DON'T KNOW BUT DAMN I LOVE HIM FOR IT. He's the one person who really calls out everyone on how absurd their mission is. And to quote Viral, "You know, you spout a lot of crap. But this is some crap I can get behind!" Also dragoons are always good if the game isn't FFX.

Yuffie: High-energy mild-talent ninja girl trying to save her country in her own way. One of the best female characters of the series that sadly doesn't get to do much important outside of Wutai by nature of being a hidden character. And then compiliation of ff7 turned her into just a materia addict and KH had no idea what to really do with her for character.

Vincent: ARGUABLY THE MOST PLOT IMPORTANT CHARACTER TO THE GAME AND HE ISN'T EVEN REQUIRED. Nihilist but with a damn good justification for it. Just a shame that you have to use the sluggish submarine to get to the cave that tells you a significant amount of his story while giving you his ultilimit and ultimate weapon.

I'd be doubtful for a summer release.
Because that's one FAST turn around to release two in the same nine-month window.
Even the Pokemon Third Releases for a region wait a year or two.
And one of the most rushed sequels for gaming, Megman X6, edged just beneath a year since X5.

This is based on SuperMetalDave64's rumor, which had a codename game in the summer called Torte City.
If you heard my prediction on what Torte City could be, I concluded that it would be YW2.
It's the best time to release the game if they plan to release it this year alongside the YW2 toys and the Season 2 anime, so that it doesn't get shafted by Sun and Moon.

That's a fair point. I think she gets a decent qip or two in here and there but yeah, she does tend to come off as a bit soft to things she wouldn't really be soft to from time to time. Maybe it's her low defense stat.

Why is their a quota on swordfighters? Theirs really no reason for their to be a divide between the 3 characters. Whatever went down with Isaac had nothing to do with Monando Boy.

There isn't a quota on swordfighters.

I just found it to be extremely unlikely for them to go with 2 or more pretty obscure, smallish franchises getting a character.
Takamaru was deemed too obscure so he got in as a AT. Xenoblade is a lot more relevant and actually currently growing unlike Golden Sun, which got a downgrade in representation in general.

So, I wake up later than usuall becuase my first class is starting late so I get good sleep (I love that because it resets my sleep schedule). Anyway, I heard yersterday that the weather would be horrible (like 35 cm of snow) and that the college might cancel the classes,. but it's really rare for the college to close.

However, I check their site to be sure and OMG IT'S CLOSED FOR THE DAY!!!!

That means every of my classes got cancelled

That "leak" mentioned which 3DS games are beign released this summer.

I can't remember every Pokémon ever all at once, so my least favorites of most types will probably be completely forgotten.
And even if I could, I doubt I could decide as most Pokémon I am just utterly indifferent to.

I will say though, despite two of my three favorites (out of Glaceon, Aurorus, and Lucario) being Ice types, my least favorite Pokémon overall is also an Ice type. A certain Gen 5 Pokémon. . .
