Welcome to Super Smash Bros: Spirit Game!
This is a tabletop card game based off of the Spirits mode in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

In this game, two players will go head to head using decks based on Fighter cards. The deck consists of Spirits, Specials, and Cores.

Fighter cards determine what Specials you can place in your deck. Each deck is built around one Fighter, no more, no less.

Specials are one-use cards that have special effects in battle. You can only use Specials that belong to your particular Fighter, which will be denoted by an icon at the top of the card. Each Fighter has a unique pool of Specials, so pick the right combination of a Fighter and Spirits!

Cores are the main resource of the game. You can spend them to play Spirits and Specials after playing them into the Core pool from your hand. There are 4 types of Cores; Neutral, Attack, Shield, and Grab.

Spirits are the main card type in the game, and how you will deal a majority of the damage to the enemy Fighter. All Spirits have a Core cost, which usually consists of one specific type of Core and then a set number of any type of Core. Each Spirit has 2 stats, Attack and Defense. Attack denotes how much damage a Spirit can deal to an enemy Spirit or an enemy Fighter. Defense denotes how much damage a Spirit can take before being KO'd, or sent to the discard pile. Each player can have up to 5 Spirits in play at any given time, lined up horizontally. Spirits can only attack the Spirit directly in front of them (unless otherwise stated on their card), so positioning is a key part of their strategy. If there is no Spirit to obstruct an attacking Spirit, then the damage is dealt to the enemy Fighter instead.

There is currently a poll to decide what new characters will join the battle!
The top 5 characters on this poll will make it into the game, along with Spirits from their home series.
Please only vote for 2 characters on this poll, as to keep it fair for everyone.

Sadly, I cannot provide a concrete release date for the first batch of cards. However, if you would like to playtest the game, feel free to make a request in this thread! I'm hoping to adapt every character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, as well as provide spirits to series who lack them. (hi Final Fantasy) Alongside the newcomer poll, I'm hoping to add some fan favorites and surprise choices as well. In fact...
