How about this: it'll be worth the wait for SOMEONE.
Remember, even Corrin and Byleth had people who unironically wanted them in Smash. Obviously, not every character will appeal to everyone, but we should all remember that there are HUNDREDS of characters out there. The least we can do is be happy for the people who wanted that character.
Um, sorry for the tangeant. With all the hype, I feel I should remind people of this. Not trying to say you weren't aware, but just in general...

I don't think I'm expecting anything in particular to be honest.
I guess the fact that the character hasn't leaked makes me think it could be a Nintendo character....but then Terry wouldn't have leaked if it wasn't for that mess up the day before so who knows?

Obliviously Smash speculation is at an all time high right now but here is something else I’ve been thinking about:
Joker’s reveal - at the Game Awards (a big presentation)

I think you all see where I’m going with this. I appears there may be a pattern of third party characters getting revealed in major directs/events. While first party characters get a dedicated Smash presentation.
Of course due to what’s going on in the world, it’s very possible the pandemic has altered this assumed pattern. So there is no guarantee this pattern is actually real. I just wanted to point out more possible evidence for this being a first party character revealed tomorrow.

There probably would have been a big E3 presentation last June (that Min Min likely would have been a part of) if not for Covid, so eh, I don't know if I buy into the pattern.

Not to mention that Byleth and MinMin are the only first party dlc so far. 2 is a coincidence, 3 is a pattern, imo

Not necessarily. Back during Smash 4 dlc, Sakurai held a separate event to show off Lucas, Roy and Ryu before Nintendo’s e3. Considering Sakurai revealed Min Min during his usual presentation of the character and their move set, I believe it would have been the same case of a separate event from Nintendo’s regular e3 direct.

Someone in the Geno thread was saying the Byleth trailer was 3 minutes and 55 seconds long. So timing doesn't seem to be an indicator of anything.
and the Bayonetta trailer was just over 3 minutes long, which didn't have any kind of cinematic....so it doesn't necessarily mean it has a cinematic. (though I imagine it will, just the time doesn't guarantee it)

I wouldn’t take patterns as an indication of first-party vs third-party characters automatically getting in. It’s still important to note that Min Min was most likely supposed to be a highlight of this pass. If not, why start off the pass with one of the “weaker” parts of it in terms of potential profit?

I just hope it's someone meaningful to speculation if it's not Isaac. Be it a super high demand character that confirms they are 100% going for fan demand characters in this pass ever since Sakurai described pass 2 as "more opportunities to satisfy fans", I really need to confirm what course this pass is gonna take, Min min was a good start by breaking the upgrade naysayers' fan rule, but i need more to have a better feeling of what this pass is aiming for… Either way, I won't say which characters i don't like because i dont want people from other threads coming to rage here lol even tho it's just my opinion… but yeah I hope it's none of the 3 characters that would totally kill my hype, specially after half a year of wait speculating who fp7 is gonna freaking be x_x

It's about as likely for Isaac as it is for anybody else. The only thing we know for sure is that it's a new franchise, which means no Pokemon, no Mario (sorry Geno fans) and no Fire Emblem (thank ****ing God).
Beyond that? I think it's more likely to be a Nintendo character with just a 3 minute trailer, but we'll have to see.

It's certainly new games, but new series is not a set-in-stone rule. See Byleth.
Therefore, a Pokémon from SwSh or a Zelda character from BotW2 may happen, in my opinion. And to my dismay (since it means less opportunities for Isaac).

I feel like the DLC pass kinda throws a wrench in your logic though. I think if we got a fighter from the DLC pass (Urshifu) it would definitely be possible to have a new spirit board with content relating to the Isle of Armour and the Crown Tundra.

That may be a possibility, but even then we are talking about DLC for a game that already had a Spirit Event. If there was always going to be a Pokemon in this pass, wouldn’t it make more sense that those Spirits would be saved for that pack similar to how we didn’t even get any Spirit Event for Three Houses before

I think the main thing keeping FP7 from being a past franchise is that a stage and, more importantly, music has to be added in addition to the character themself. This is crucial because, among the franchises in Smash right now, only a couple don't have music from more recent titles. Those franchises are, to my knowledge, Pokemon (no Gen 8 music), Xenoblade Chronicles (iirc there's a very small number of tracks from 2, but there's none at all from X), Animal Crossing (since New Horizons was released afterwards), and Paper Mario (ditto with Origami King). I've probably missed something though, so feel free to add to this.
Anyways, between those series I feel Animal Crossing is very unlikely to see a new character for the simple reason that most of the aspects of the series is already well-represented with both Villager and Isabelle - there's just no need to add a third AC character. Of course, that still leaves Pokemon, Xenoblade, and Paper Mario as potential for adding a character, so while I don't buy that it 100% will not be a series already in Smash, if it's not a Pokemon, Elma, Rex, or Paper Mario, it pretty much has to be a new series - and if it's first party, there aren't a whole lot of options that make sense from a marketing standpoint. Fortunately for us, however, I think Golden Sun is a series that would make sense to add, since a lot of people want it AND there's apparently a new game finally on the way that could be promoted.
Of course, this is all totally just speculation and Nintendo could still throw in anyone they feel like. Even a moblin (and GOD wouldn't that just piss off the Zelda and Kirby fanbases).

I'd post what I expect, but im REALLY not in the mood for a debate or argument. Honestly doesn't matter who it is to me, I'm at the point with smash where its honestly exhausting. Which is why I've primarily moved onto rooting much more towards a return of the golden sun IP in general, rather then smash outright.

I've really no idea who it's going to be but i'm buzzing. Hoping for Isaac of course. Kinda hoping its not Pokémon. Looking forward to a goodtrailer and re-watching it a hundred times.

Not only that, but they also had an in-game online tournament celebrating the game's release.That may be a possibility, but even then we are talking about DLC for a game that already had a Spirit Event. If there was always going to be a Pokemon in this pass, wouldn’t it make more sense that those Spirits would be saved for that pack similar to how we didn’t even get any Spirit Event for Three Houses before
I really hope those events mean no Pokémon for this Pass, it's the only thing keeping me sane tonight

I agree. Lloyd and Isaac are my definitive last wants, every other character I could like I'm totally fine without at this point, hell I was already satisfied by the end of pass 1 but since I was given a chance to hope for more then I just hope Isaac and/or Lloyd makes it in in this pass eventually. I literally joined the GS hype at the end of 2018 so I'm fresh, so you guys have been waiting for him for longer than I did for sure!

I don't remember the Soren leak but I definitely remember the Agnes one, where much of the Smash community couldn't even tell it was supposed to be Agnes.

I'm in the exact same boat. I've been excited about the idea of Isaac in Smash since the days of following reveals on the Dojo site, and I really thought he might be a secret character when he didn't appear before launch. Then of course he was an AT in Brawl, then MIA in SSB4 and the DLC, then back to AT and a Mii costume in base Ultimate. It's been a long, often disappointing road, one I've been on for over 12 years at this point.
I don't expect that wait to end tomorrow, but hey, crazier things have happened. I'm just glad we're finally getting some Smash news. Even if I don't end up liking what we get, there's still four more characters to come, not to mention a shockingly good chance at Golden Sun news outside of Smash. That'll be enough to keep me going no matter what.

I don't expect our wait to end today, but I'm hopeful for this pass as a whole. Isaac is my last true want for this game, I will happily retire from watching all things speculation if he's revealed, so here's hoping.

Yeah I'm in the whatever will be will be mindset. The second smash pass was a nice surprise so I can only hope Isaac made it. Even if he doesn't, I think I'm pretty done with Smash speculation either way.
