If you're talking about the dubbed versions then yeah. The Japanese One Piece anime isn't bad though, if you've read the manga previously and know when to fast forward.
One Piece is the only manga/anime that can make you cry over a wooden ship.

Manga and anime, just like Marvel comics, are as varied and different from each other as books. Of course there are going to be bad and good, but the only thing in common they all have is that the author is Japanese or Korean, so calling them all utter crap is a very ignorant and huge generalization.
Personally, I'm drawn to them because I have a bit of autism, which makes me
a) have a hard time feeling empathy with others due to the fact that I can't read emotions or predict people very well.
- that's fixed in anime and manga because the emotions and body language are so exaggerated even I can read them, meanwhile if I'm watching a movie I'm constantly badgering whoever it is with me "what's going on?/Why is he upset?/etc." In fact, because I know what they're thinking they seem realer to me. You know why people become total jerks over the internet? Because they can't see other people's emotions. Well... that's a challenge to me every day, online or offline. It's nice to have a change where I don't have a distorted view of how people are thinking or feeling...
b) I like to fixate on things.
- anime/manga is extremely easy to fixate over. o_<

Okay this is true. I can't say all manga is crap (I may have spoken a little to strong with utter crap). I just find them really hard to get into. Some of my friends read them and I've tried but I just can't bring myself to like them. So I guess they are not all utter crap I just can't into them. Also I get confused by the "backward" patern of the panels (stupid Naruto and your right to left style of telling me a story.)
