Story/Meaning behind a gametag!

Hello friends! I just wanted to ask you what is the meaning or story behind any gametag you might be using atm!

As for me, Quarium is simply a name I got from being the mod of an ask blog with certain characters owning an aquarium back on tumblr...

BUT I second the tag ZOE at times and that one does have a story behind it:

I went to argentina to play a local tourney with a couple of my friends from the scene and as we were there playing the tourney there was this little girl (about 8 or 10 yo) who played :4villagerf: with the tag ZOE... She was't very good, but her mom was filming her as his dad was cheering on for her! She was being zoned by a spammy link player and I swear she full hopped AND second jumped in the air and fell down slowly while trying to pocket the arrows but she either did it too fast or too slow and got hit anyways AND **** MANG IT WAS ADORABLE.

After she got eliminated I went with the tag ZOE and chose Pink Villager on her honor, got 3rd place at the tourney!
Now I always call Pink Villager "Zoe" and at times use the tag while playing her because Never5get.

But what about you? share about your tag!

I recently picked up the name PKAceii
PK is a reference to psi, from Earthbound (as well as the ii)
Ace just kind of came into my head out of nowhere, while making a tag.
I also use "ubre" sometimes. It's a longer story but here we go; when I was younger my dad nicknamed me "the champion" because I showed him me beating a Pokemon game. then, I was thinking of cool words and "uber" popped into my head, so that became "uberchampion." I then shortened it to "UberGM" (I never really revealed what the GM meant, so everyone assumes it's Uber General Motors. It's not.) Then it shortened to "Uber..." That's about the time when the ride sharing service became available, so I rearranged one letter, and got "ubre"

Funny little side trivia, I giggle'd because ubre in spanish refers to a cow's milk breasts or whatever they are in e.glish.

lmao, I remember figuring this out a couple of months ago.
I googled "ubre" and got a bunch of pictures of cows.

My name starts with an E and since I was from the west coast, guys would call me Eazy in reference to the rapper Eazy-E. The "del Fresco" part came from a line another rapper named Chuck Inglish said in one of his verses. I just literally took that and put it all together.

Here's a not so interesting story of mine.

I put some words from stuff I liked into a word combiner website thingy, and ixos was the best thing I could find.

10/10 would be creative again.

I used to go by 'Inspector Buffoon' before cutting 'Inspector' out of the title for convenience sake; I want to say that my tag was inspired by Inspector Gadget, hence the Inspector part.

I starting going solely by Buffoon primarily after reading up about the trope "The Fool", I came to the conclusion/belief that "A fool has nothing to lose", meaning that it cannot hurt to make an attempt.

CannotGrasp comes from the famous line in EB "You cannot grasp the true form of Giygas' attack!". Wanted a username that was easily remembered, afaik nobody else uses it, and references my main without having a name like "Ness123" or something too "girly" since back then, I preferred to not give away my gender. I also like the nickname CG, or SEEGEE as @ Waael Waael would put it. I also like "Siji" as a way of spelling it.

Smash tags: Since Melee I've used the tag "DUO", from Duo Maxwell of Gundam Wing. Nowadays in Smash 4 I use DIO (from JJBA), DANGERZONE (because Kenny Loggins), or SOUR (because I don't get salty, I get sour :gova:) Sometimes when I play online with the bf, he uses the tag SCOOBY so I use SHAGGY.

Reila is the name of a song performed by the Japanese Visual Kei band "the GazettE". I was into this sort of music back in the 00s and the music is absolutely gorgeous, so I said why not use its name as forum username/video game gamertag thingy?

But as an adult, I am not into Japanese stuff that much anymore, including their music (video game music aside, of course), so I am thinking about changing my username once/if I am premium again on Smashboards. Though that would be a little problematic since I am "Reila" in so many forums and for a long time.

My username derives from a character I created back in September 2010. Back then, people had to refer me by a bunch of account names that I still remember to this very day. Originally intended for a YouTube collaboration channel, I would not use "Flight" as my de-facto username until December of that year. Even after I ditched that character, I kept the name. Generic or not, I do not plan on changing it anytime soon.

I was surprised when I noticed the name was available for use on this site, so I took it immediately.

I also use it as my gamertag when available, and if not, I try to come up with different kinds of stuff. For example, "Flightz" is my Nintendo Network ID.

Host Change- Lag on Xbox Live and host migration because of really bad connectivity led me to type in that name and see if it was taken on Xbox. It wasn't so I took that, and also used the tag for other things.

My tag comes from my cat. The story is that my aunt owned Gingles, my aunt is a marathon and mountain climber. One day she was practicing and she got hit by a car she was pretty badly damaged, they had to give away Gingles, that's where my grandmother came in. She took Gingles into her home, after that I volunteered to feed and play with him. He became my most favorite pet, (I've had 5 dogs and 3 cats) we were planning to give him back, but my aunt Jess thought it would be best for because he could go outside (aunt Jess lives in NYcity) he's still alive today.

My tag is acne, because I used to have the worst acne of my friend group. Now my acne's cleared up, and I've made friends who have worse acne than what remains of mine. The name sticks because it's funny enough.

My gaming tag refers to Druddigon's japanese name Crimgan. Druddigon is one of my favorite dragon type pokemon due to his design and how freaking strong he is! MK2 refers to two different things, MK is refers to Mark II or Mark 2 often refers to the second version of a product, frequently military hardware. "Mark", meaning "model" or "variant", can be abbreviated "Mk." Being a Sonic fan there is are two characters in the series who have the "MK" attached to their names, Silver Sonic MK 2 and E-101 Beta MK 2. Both these characters I really like and since MK 2 sounds so cool to me I added it to my username.

EDIT: Realized on here I don't use the username "CrimganMK2" I do however use it in other gaming community's/forums.

Has to do with my last name.
A common misconception is that my alias is pronounced, "Burg-ee" as in "Burger" but it's actually pronounced, "Bur-jee"
As my last name is Burgess pronounced, "Bur-jess"
Basically it was a nickname that I got on my hockey team and has stuck with me since Grade 6, my first appearance on the net.

My mother used to be the Operations Manager for a summer camp. Being a single mom she had to bring me to work, so I basically grew up there. Now when I got older I got a job there as well, and being a summer camp, all the staff needed "camp names". A good friend I made there had taken the name Falcor from The Neverending Story, and she said "hey wouldn't it be cool if you were Atreyu" and it fit. So here I am.

Warning: long story ahead. This goes really in-depth because it has to. It's complicated, but I hope it's interesting enough to read.

So, the first username I ever used was basically my email address, minus the "@aol.com". I thought it might compromise the security of my account, so for future accounts, I decided to use a different username. When I made an account on miniclip.com in 2008, I thought of a name that would imply that I was a very good game player (I honestly thought I was one of the best flash game players in the world) and a suffix that worked well. I wrote down "win guy" for my username, because I didn't capitalize letters back then. I thereafter used "Win Guy" as my username whenever necessary. When it had to be longer than 8 characters, I used "WinnerGuy." When I couldn't use spaces, I used "Win_Guy" or "WinnerGuy." When I submitted high scores on flash games to scoreboards, I usually used "WinGuySD." That's the origin of the first half of my username.

Then I began making music in 2011. Most of my music was 8-bit and chiptunes, so I thought up a name that painted an image of what I did as a creative electronic artist. I settled on "TwistBit" because that's what I did: I took "bits" (as in 8-bit) and "twisted" them into something new and innovative. I still compose under the alias TwistBit today, but I've largely moved on to making electronic dance music instead. That's where I get the other half of the username.

A couple of years ago, I began expanding my horizons, making accounts for more than flash-gaming and music. I needed a new name for those accounts, but I wanted to use TwistBit exclusively for music, and wanted to ditch "Win Guy" because it's such a bland name. So, being an amazingly creative individual, I combined the two usernames to make "Win-Bit." I now use "Win-Bit" (or a form of it) for all new accounts. If I want it to be longer, I use "Winner-Bit." Sometimes I'll spell it with a bullet point, period, or underscore in the middle instead.

So that's about it. Thanks for reading the story of how Winner-Bit came to be! :038:

I've been going by "ZîON" thus far simply because the day i had finally landed on Lucario as my main, and proceeded to stay up all night practicing, i was listening to my Bob Marley collection. I guess i just wanted a smash tag so badly i just chose the first thing that had any level of meaning behind it. but after reading the other posts on here (and feeling like maybe my tag SHOULD have some real meaning) i think i'm going to go with "else" (maybe ElsE for some flair). and the story behind that is actually something very meaningful to me: so years and years ago i was very much into the electronic dance scene (mind all you young'ns this was before the term EDM was invented and Infected Mushroom had JUST released their debut album) and i used to throw parties at my folks' house whenever they left town. well at one such party, everyone had gotten onto the subject of how they got their "rave name" and who their "families" were when suddenly the discussion landed on me. now everyone's asking about my rave name. i can hear some people in the distance speculating that i must have the most interesting rave name (because apparently throwing parties means you've lived a more interesting life) but when i tell them that i've had no such experience and therefor have no rave name everyone loses there sh*t! i've always been a very practical person, not to say i don't absolutely love goofing off and such, but it just never crossed my mind as a desire to have a rave name. so of course this sparks the conversation about what they're all going to name me. and then a very good friend of mine at the time walks up and sits down next to me and says, "else". why else? so he starts explaining to me all of the ways i act so uniquely me (which sounds flattering in text, but trust me, at the time it sounded more like he was telling me i am an alien stranded on earth with no concept of human social behavior, haha). and everyone starts joining in and now i'm really embarrassed and very inebriated and confused and then he says, "don't you see? everyone here has a rave name. a rave family. [he goes on to mention other stigma that our group of friends all fell under, but i couldn't possibly relate to any of you]. do you see it yet? you're everything else!! you're the one outside and in between, connecting everything to everyone. you are the else!"

so that's my little story and i'm actually very glad i opened this thread because i wouldn't have come to this conclusion otherwise. haha!!
