Storing videos from my computer

I have a decent amount of videos on my laptop (full LP of Amnesia + a few custom stories, TF2 gameplay, misc. gameplay) and I want a place to store the data so that I won't hog up HDD space. So, here's my question:

Do I store my data on an external hard drive or use some sort of online data storage?

If online, which services are best?

I would go for an external hdd. 1 TB are already getting pretty cheap, you don't have to rely on an internet connection and if you want to take it to another place, you don't have to download it all over again.
