Stale Moves

Do stale moves carry over from Pokemon to Pokemon? For example, if Squirtle hits with an F smash, then switches to Ivysaur, will Ivysaur's F smash be stale?

Yes, stale moves do carry over. Which is a bit of a shame to because I feel it misses the point of move staling, but I guess they didn't want to give the trainer a free button to reset the stale moves queue.
