I was thinking to myself and was like "Man, the PWT from Pokemon would be a pretty neat stage."
So here's my prompt.
PWT (Pokemon)
View attachment 325191
The Pokemon World Tournament takes place in the main arena, with many a person watching. The stadium itself is a long walk off similar to the image shown, except the main platform is longer. The stage itself has no hazards, and the main screen will show stats of how well Fighters are doing in a match. However, here comes the main gimmick. Every 30 seconds, the stage will shift to an arena for a specific region. The stage will morph in the back, and the back will have various trainers and one of their Pokemon watch the match, depending on the region. Also depending on the region are hazards.
Kanto Rotation
The stage's main screen will show a simplified layout of Kanto and shift the back to Kanto mode. The characters that can appear in the back are:
Brock and Onix
Misty and Starmie or Psyduck
Erika and Vileplume or Tangela
Sabrina and Alakazam or Mr. Mime
Blaine and Magmar, Arcanine, or Ponyta
Giovanni and Rhyhorn or Persian
Agatha and Gengar
Bruno and Machamp
Professor Oak
The stage will also occasionally feature Blue. Blue will appear by himself, then release Pidgeot. Pidgeot will use Air Cutter, creating several cutting objects that erratically fly around the stage, similar to it's Gen 4 counterpart. After a period of this, he will recall Pidgeot, and the stage will shift back to it's base form.
Johto Rotation
The stage's main screen will show a simplified layout of Johto and shift the back to Johto mode. The characters that can appear in the back are:
Bugsy and Scyther or Metapod and Kakuna
Whitney and Miltank
Morty
Jasmine and Steelix
Amphy
Pryce and Piloswine or Seel
Clair and Kingdra
Silver and Sneasel
Kris
Eusine
Karen and Houndoom
The stage will occasionally feature Lance or Red in a similar vein to Blue. Lance will appear in the back and send out Dragonite. Dragonite will ram the stage with Dragon Rush several times very erratically, dealing hefty damage to anyone it hits. It will then wrap up with Hyper Beam, acting as a laser similar to Genesect's off the side of the stage. Lance will then recall Dragonite, and the stage will shift to it's default. Red can also appear. He will not send out a Pokemon, and will simply stand there with his back turned.
Hoenn Rotation
The stage's main screen will show a simplified layout of Hoenn and shift the back to Hoenn mode. The characters that can appear in the back are:
May
Roxanne and Nosepass
Wattson and Magneton or Manectric
Norman and Slaking
Tate and Liza and Solrock and Lunatone
Lisia and Altaria
Scott
Wally and Gallade
Archie and Sharpedo
Maxie and Camerupt
Anabel and Raikou
Noland
Drake and Shelgon or Flygon
Phoebe and Dusclops or Dusknoir
Zinnia and Aster and Salamence
Gabby and Ty
Cosplay Pikachu (All Forms)

The stage will occasionally feature Steven or Wallace. If the stage has Steven, then Steven will send out Metagross. Metagross will Mega Evolve, leap to the left side of the stage, and ram everyone in it's way with a massively damaging Giga Impact. Steven will then recall Metagross and the stage will shift to default. If Wallace appears, he will send out Milotic. Milotic will appear and use Whirlpool, creating a massive funnel of water in the center of the stage that will cause repeated blows to anyone caught in it. After a short while, he will withdraw Milotic and the stage will shift back to default.
Sinnoh Rotation
The stage's main screen will show a simplified layout of Sinnoh and shift the back to Sinnoh mode. The characters that can appear in the back are:
Lucas and Professor Rowan
Barry and Staraptor
Roark and Cranidos
Maylene and Medicham or Machoke
Crasher Wake and Floatzel or Gyarados
Volkner and Luxray or Electivire
Flint and Magmortar or Infernape
Thorton
Palmer and Regigigas
Darach and Empoleon and Caitlin and Gothitelle or Reuniclus
Cheryl and Chansey
Marley and Arcanine
Looker and Croagunk
Charon

The stage will occasionally feature Cynthia. She will send out Garchomp, who will create a massive Earthquake that deals heavy damage to anyone on the ground when it's used. She then recalls Garchomp and the stage shifts back to default.
Unova Rotation
The stage's main screen will show a simplified layout of Unova and shift the back to Unova mode. The characters that can appear in the back are:
Hilbert and Hilda
Rosa
N
Bianca and Musharna
Cheren and Stoutland
Cilan and Pansage
Cress and Panpour
Chili and Pansear
Burgh and Leavanny or Whirlipede
Elesa and Zebstrika or Emolga
Clay and Excadrill, Palpitoad, or Krokorok
Drayden and Fraxure
Brycen and Beartic
The Shadow Triad and their Bisharp
Grimsley and Liepard or Sharpedo
Zinzolin and Cryogonal
Heartbreaker Charles
Ingo and Excadrill or Garbodor and Emmett and Klinklang or Archeops
Colress and Magnezone or Metang
Hugh and Flygon
Professor Burnet

The stage will occasionally feature Alder or Iris in her Champion Attire. When Alder appears, he'll use Volcarona. Volcarona will use Heat Wave, creating strong blasts of heat in random spots. Alder will then recall Volcarona and the stage will shift. When Iris appears, she'll use Haxorus. Haxorus will use Outrage, ramming towards the fighters, dealing high damage. After Haxorus has stopped, it will be recalled and the stage will shift.
Kalos Rotation
The stage's main screen will show a simplified layout of Kalos and shift the back to Kalos mode. The characters that can appear in the back are:
Calem and Serena and Meowstic (Both Genders)
Professor Sycamore
Tierno, Trevor and Shauna and Crawdaunt, Florges, and Delcatty
Viola and Surskit or Vivillon
Korrina and Hawlucha
Clemont and Bonnie and Heliolisk
Olympia and Sigilyph
Malva and Houndoom or Torkoal
Siebold and Clawitzer or Barbaracle
Wikstrom and Aegislash
Sina and Dexio and Glaceon and Alakazam
AZ and Eternal Flower Floette
Xerosic and Emma and Mimi

The stage will occasionally feature Diantha. She will send out Gardevoir, who will Mega Evolve. Gardevoir will then use Hyper Voice and walk around, creating a damaging obstruction wherever it walks. Diantha will recall Gardevoir after some time, and the stage will return to default.
Alola Rotation
The stage's main screen will show a simplified layout of Alola and shift the back to Alola mode. The characters that can appear in the back are:
Selene
Lillie and Clefairy
Hau and Alolan Raichu
Professor Kukui and Lycanroc Midday
Rotom Pokedex
Illima
The Masked Royal and Incineroar
Sophocles and Togemaru or Charjabug
Molayne and Alolan Dugtrio
Acerola and Palossand or Dhelmise
Hala and Crabrawler
Nanu and Alolan Persian
Hapu and Mudsdale
Gladion and Silvally
Mohn
Lusamine
Guzma and Golisopod and Plumeria and Salazzle
Samson Oak
Ultra Recon Squad and Poipole

Due to a lack of a proper Champion, Alola's main hazard is Necrozma. Necrozma will emerge from an Ultra Wormhole and use Photon Geyser. The Geysers will have a reticle attempting to target a fighter, and will track them until a small window before Photon Geyser fires. After shooting several of these, Necrozma will return into it's Wormhole.
Galar Rotation
The stage's main screen will show a simplified layout of Galar and shift the back to Galar mode. The characters that can appear in the back are:
Hop and Dubwool or Zamazenta
Bede and Hatterene or Galarian Rapidash
Marnie and Morpeko or Grimmsnarl
Sonia and Yamper
Kabu and Centiskorch
Bea and Sirfetch'd
Allister and Cursola
Opal and Alcremie
Piers and Obstagoon
Raihan and Duraludon
Chairman Rose and Copperajah
Peony and Copperajah
Klara and Galarian Slowbro
Avery and Galarian Slowking
Mustard and Mienshao or Urshifu (Either)
Calyrex

Leon will occasionally appear instead. He will send out Charizard, who will use Inferno, which will generate massive pillars of fire, creating a damaging wall of sorts. These will appear one at a time. They will fade after a short while and another will appear randomly on the stage. Leon will leave after three have been made.
Lunick and Solana and Plusle and Minun, Lear and Hoopa, Grand Oak, Todd Snap, Detective Pikachu, Professor Willow and Meltan, Greevil, Rui, and Mirror B and Ludicolo, will also randomly appear at any point in the stage.
Anyone have suggestions on how to improve it?
They wont do it because smash is allergic to pokemon humans we have like 2,5 of them!

Imagine stages in Smash with 2 combined Universes like in Playstation allstars.
Example of stage: Bowser's Castle (Super Mario X Fire Emblem).
It starts as Bowser Castle (Design based on Modern Version of Bowser Castle like in Mario Kart 8) and song "SMB Boss Fight" plays, but during middle of match, unexpectedly Grima (FE Awakening) descends from skies and destroys Bowser's Castle, burning it down to its Ruins on the Volcanic Wasteland that similarly looks like Grima's fight place and after Grima's encounter, Grima flies away and Bowser's Castle rises from ground, looking like same at the start.

I had a similar idea to that a while back, imagine if at the end of the Mushroomy Kingdom's loop it started to rain

Suddenly the barren desert becomes floral, wildlife scampers in, and it slowly transforms...

I imagine it'd then start a second scrolling portion based on GHZ act 1 from the SMS version of Sonic 1

Or Imagine this:
Stage name: Sand Ocean (F-Zero X Mach Rider)
It starts with layout similarly to Mute City SNES, but it takes place on F-Zero AX, where you stand on Blue Falcon riding on the track (racing with other racers), while song plays "Sand Ocean theme".
But then, the backgrounds becames more Futuristic City with desert like background similarly to Mach Rider and then, Quadrunners (they serve also as platforms) are attacking the Blue Falcon (Bashing into it), also oil puddles are also appearing (Which Blue Falcon can accidentally drive into it and slip because of Quadrunners' attacking it), making the Platform (Blue Falcon) crashing into barrier, stunning players who stood on it. And then Mach rider shoots Quadrunners down and drives away while background becomes normal like Sand Ocean. Also, while in "Mach Rider" part, "Mach Rider theme" plays in Background.
The idea mixes Fighter-represented universe with Other Nintendo game-represented Universe in form of Stage.

I came back with one more Combined Universe stage idea:
Stage Name: Macbeth (Star Fox X 3D Space Tank/X)

It starts with layout consisting of flying 3 Arwings that fly over Macbeth landscape (One of Planets in Star Fox) and they shoot at harmless opponents from Star Fox 64. The Forever Train makes the Cameo on this stage.
The songs that plays right now is "Star Fox Medley".
But then, the Graphics and Background are reverted into Monchromatic Gameboy style, while the Camera View changes into VIXIV's Ship view from X and also Commander appears in Background, commanding the Tanks to destroy to Arwings and Forever Train. Also enemies from X are appearing as Stage Hazards, but they are killed by VIXIV. After that, Commander says Goodbye and VIXIX ship flies away while graphics are reverted to Normal, bringing back Train and the Landscape.
The songs plays "Tunnel Scene - X" during the Invasion.

  • Bowser's Castle; specifically the version from Mario Kart 64.
  • Impact Crater (Metroid Prime 1)
  • Stargazer Colosseum from Pokemon: Battle Revolution. I'd suggest the Cynthia's Champion Sanctum from Platinum, but we already have two Pokemon League stages.
  • A hybrid-series stage where you have Temple of Time from Legend of Zelda, but for some reason, Dialga's just sitting in the background vibin'

After playing Legends Arceus, I had a good idea for a stage based off the game, but I'll spoiler it as it is a recent game
Alabaster Icelands
The Ice area and final area unlocked in the game, the Alabaster Icelands take place in the cold tundra. The stage itself would be atop the main icy rock of Avalugg's Legacy, one of the areas there.
1644093437975.png
(Best image I could find for the time being, but the big ice thing in the center)
Off in the distance, the arena where you fight Noble Avalugg, Avalanche Slopes, and some of the generic tundra can be seen. Snowpoint Temple is also in the far back on top of a hill. On the ground, Piloswine and Swinub herds can be seen, as well as the occasional Glalie. A Spiritomb Wisp and the hole that leads to the underground chambers can be seen. Hisuian Braviary can be seen flying in the background, and it will occasionally fly past the stage.

As for the stage itself, it is a flat area with two sides off the side where the blastzones are. The stage itself extends downwards, so one can wall cling or jump to the side of the stage. Despite being on ice, no ice physics are present. It acts as a simple stage in and of itself. However, after a while, an Eternal Ice item will drop from the icy mound in the back and fall off stage, and the Noble Avalugg will burst the mound open and knock Avalugg's Legacy to the ground. It will then act as a stage boss.

1644093809998.png

The Avalugg itself is massive like in its fight in Legends, and is in its Frenzied state. Its head will rest on the stage whilst the rest stands in the back. Attacking the head damages it.

The stage now acts as a walkoff, with the right side of the original platform being tilted further down than the left. Snow and ice piles can be seen in the background, though its mostly the same as before. Some Bergmite can also be seen watching the battle, as can an Abomasnow.

Avalugg will attack with a few patterns. It can walk into the background, then spew ice balls at the stage in a wave like fashion, before then attacking by generating icicles out of the ground. These will have a visual cue as to where they can spawn.
1644094182677.png

Avalugg can also shake the stage and create earthquakes that repeatedly trip the player like in Ultimate. It can also generate Icicle Spears that will rain down at random points which act as limited time platforms. It's strongest attack launches a slow moving beam of ice across the stage. Getting hit also freezes the fighter with heavy knockback. It will be stunned after using this, allowing time to get hits in. Upon defeat, Avalugg will lose its Frenzy, and the dispersal of it acts as a large explosion, damaging anyone but the fighter who defeated it nearby. It will then depart. After a while, Avalugg's Legacy will repair itself again and go through the same cycle.

After playing a little Project+ recently, Oil Drum Alley would be a fun stage to come to life in a real SSB game.
Edit: I also like Wario’s Castle on the Smash 1 mod (It’s from Smash 2, but I only played Smash 1).

One of my most wanted stages for Smash is Winters from EarthBound. First of all, the Mother series is awesome and could use more love. Secondly, Smash has a ridiculously depressing amount of snow-themed stages (with only the Ice Climber stages being truly snow-themed at all times) so any more would be a huge plus.

As for how the stage itself would work, I imagine it taking place right at the edge of Lake Tess, although the stage would be angled so the lake is on the right side of the screen.
1644124220625.png
You could stand on a tent on the left side, or swim in the chilly waters on the right. But after a while, the wind starts blowing (symbolized by leaves blowing in the wind, as in most media) and Tessie rises from the water. Tessie serves as a platform for a while, and you can stand on her head or back with her neck serving as a wall. She swims away after a bit, which may take you offscreen with her if you're not careful.

The Battlefield and Final Destination forms of the stage are instead located in the sky, with the background showing roughly the same view the player has of the area in EarthBound, and Jeff's boarding school can be seen in the distance.

The DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter games had some snowy overworlds in Story Mode that were never before seen in a Mario or Sonic and are not owned by the Olympics.

One of those would be cool to see.

One stage that I just thought of that could be fun is Block Fort from Mario Kart 64’s battle mode, where there could be the bombs from eliminated racers appearing as hazards.
Dude, that's amazing. Forgot about this mode. Block Fort is remotely interesting and could have some neat Mario Kart details in the background. Love the layout. There's no way you could go wrong with this stage.

I feel like some stages having 2nd iterations would make sense. I honestly want stages to go back to more simple layouts and aesthetic. Super Mario Bros. for example should have this as a 2nd iteration.

Imagine the stage in 3D. And go "This is a stage I never knew I wanted." :o It manages to dismiss any dull moments and still works.
I'm more on the fence to see the return of more calmer stages rather than the overly designed/detailed overly busy abominations like Newpork City or Luigi's Mansion.

What is the problem with Luigi's Mansion? For me, it's too small and shouldn't collapse.

Like Newpork City, the stage is way too busy. It could have better if we actually fought at the roof and mansion actually felt gigantic, but nope. Namco Museum would be a better concept.

I don't get what you mean by "busy": nothing happens there, except the slow destruction. Fighting on the roof would have been nice, yes. On the other hand, we already fight on the roof of Peach's castle, so it's good to have to distinct concepts. But we agree that it should feel "gigantic": after all, the whole first game takes place in it.

But the whole point of newpork is that it is busy! Its literally supposed to be a fake Overdesigned City! I guess the stage layout is bad but the aesthetic of the Stage Is Beautiful (aside from Brawl awful Realisim look!)

Idk. Maybe I just don't like the stage? It isn't memorable and is poorly executed. It had potential and maybe could've done more. I don't even think Luigi would like his stage 🤪 But seriously, I see Mushroom Kingdom 1 or 2 as better stages for Luigi.

Luigi's Mansion isn't exactly a great stage on its own, but when compared to other SSB stages I think it's pretty good. Plenty of other stages feel like they have one big issue (either mediocre presentation of the place its supposed to take place on, bad design, or in rare cases, just not an ideal place to have as a stage coughcoughRumbleFallscoughcough), and there's usually a tad bit more beyond that one problem. Luigi's Mansion on the other hand just feels a tad bit meh in terms of actually representing the mansion itself. That said, even a miniature presentation of the overall mansion is still more than I can give other stages with underwhelming stages, and is still neat to see regardless, and the mansion getting destroyed is a fun casual gimmick.

That said, a stage featuring both the foyer and rooftop, with both parts being pretty sizable, and floating platforms that occasionally change to have a minor gimmick (non-hitstun damage, very slow healing, or even just being illusionary platforms that you can't stand on) would be amazing.

I agree that Rumble Falls, I can even go as far as saying is near pointless as a stage addition since it wants to be Kongo Falls 2. Its a reminder of Sakurai's typical selection for the DK franchise.

Ngl, having watched Sonic 2 the movie, I was blown away be the stage potential. There's a serious lack of Sonic vibes in Smash that Green Hill can no longer fill the void to.

1654654916562.png

Having witnessed Labyrinth Zone in its full glory in the movie, it'd be a visually beautiful stage with a creatively quenching layout. Imagine it reimagined in Smash Ultimate's graphics. I'd love to see it feature a water stream ramp that'll constantly make the roster like fighting on barrels.

1654655978324.png

Emerald Coast is another stage that would have interesting details and a lively aesthetic with many rich potential stage locations across. There's so many creative stage layouts you can copy paste off this level into Smash.

1654656184651.png

Ice Cap is another stage that landscape would make interesting. You can even center the stage in reach of the avalanche that'll act as the stage's hazard with platforms. These are just some stages that'll bring some neat Sonic vibes we're missing by this point.

Or even better, Dr. Eggman's Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park.

Ngl, having watched Sonic 2 the movie, I was blown away be the stage potential. There's a serious lack of Sonic vibes in Smash that Green Hill can no longer fill the void to.

Emerald Coast is another stage that would have interesting details and a lively aesthetic with many rich potential stage locations across. There's so many creative stage layouts you can copy paste off this level into Smash.

Ice Cap is another stage that landscape would make interesting. You can even center the stage in reach of the avalanche that'll act as the stage's hazard with platforms. These are just some stages that'll bring some neat Sonic vibes we're missing by this point.
Honestly, if it were up to me, I probably would've even gone as far as to put Emerald Coast as Sonic's stage in Brawl over Green Hill. Emerald Coast is nearly as iconic as Green Hill, and the excuse to throw in at least one of EC's amazing themes make it very tempting.
