Hi all,
I wanted to know if anyone here had information on getting started into making sprites for video games, and then really polishing them and making them look good.
I don't know much about the topic myself, but if thread really gets going I feel like we could really help people, maybe even indie game developers learn how to make huge, beautiful sprites like seen in the Super Nintendo era. Chrono Trigger and FFVI are excellent examples, and more recently, titles like Golden Sun or really any of the Dept. Heaven games also are good.
I may double post to reserve space because I really hope this thread gets going and we can all share our work, tips and ideas. Thanks!
Our very first resource I will put is http://www.videogamesprites.net/ which has some sprites from a handful of SNES games. Hopefully this thread kicks off!
11/23/13 UPDATE: Here is a simple link I found that explains sprite basics. More to come soon!
11/24/13: Redirected to Artwork Emporium by some kindly soul! Thanks!
