South Florida - Versus Monthly Rumble

I am proud, excited and happy to announce that Versus Gaming Center will now be hosting a Smash Bros Monthly tournament series for South Florida one saturday of every month. This will further complement the pre existing weeklies we host every Wednesday night at Versus.​

Rules for Melee and Project M

On the days that the Monthly lands on, Versus will open at Noon instead of it's usual 4pm

Schedule;
Noon - Venue Opens
1pm - Melee Doubles(Registration ends at 12:45)
3pm - Melee Singles(Registration ends at 2:45)
7pm - PM Doubles(Registration ends at 6:45)
9pm - PM Singles(Registration ends at 8:45)

Fees;
Venue Fee - $5
Singles Fee - $5
Doubles Fee - $10 per team

Payouts will depending on the number of entrants. If there is less than 12 entrants in singles (6 teams for Doubles) the payout will be; 2nd get 25% of the pot and 1st gets 75% of the pot. If their are at least 12 singles entrants (6 doubles entrants) then payouts will be 60/30/10

YESSSSSSSSSSSS!! RR pools and teams!!. just pls dont change the RR pools to double elimination like what happened at Simply Smashing and this should be awesome!

Maybe. There is an Apex qualifier in Orlando in January that Versus is co sponsoring. We really do want to encourage Smashers to go to that

Oh interesting
I see that Versus does weeklies on Wednesdays. Being that's a school night...are there any days besides that where there are weeklies?

I like the idea of encouraging people to go to the Apex qualifier, but isnt that in the middle of that month? you could have one somewhere around the beginning of January. it initially makes sense, but many of us cant make it out to that one because we have high school or cant yet drive, or drive that far out of where we live, but still want to go to tournaments and get better. if you have the time to put it together, many of us would really appreciate it. Whether its the ones that cant go to the Apex qualifier or want one last time to really get good practice in beforehand.

I'm not saying it's not going to happen. It's being considered, but there is a lot of effort that needs to be focused on Paragon.

alright cool, sounds awesome and we all appreciate the effort going into paragon, ill be watching on stream :). i just cant go to paragon because i have to take the ACT/SAT over winter break and my parents wont really let me just drive to Orlando when school is going on. me and many other people are greatful for what you and the people at versus have done to grow the local scene, and if the monthly cant be done, i fully understand.
