I...I don't even know how to explain this. Umby is just a dirty sandbagger (Tenki can vouch for me).

All he does is bluff!

Although we can't blame Umby for Sonic...

P.S - Zange-chan > Steak

She'll take a steak. And eat it!

...lol
Also I don't really see the sandbagging in it >_> It's mostly how I play.

P.S. Steak eats Zange-Chan for breakfast.

Umby, how do I know you're not mindgaming me by saying you're NOT sandbagging? =(

gad.

seriously, does NOONE ever counter-tech the D-throw?

The whole PnT tourney, I was the only person who counter-teched and got the free hit out of Umby's D-throw, lol.

Ewww, Umby plays a slow Sonic.

Tenki, NOONE techs it.

At GIMPED, I was d-throwing like a mad man. I dont even remember SL or Malcolm teching it.

I don't have good players to play with offline, I can rarely play online - so when I can play online, I can't handle the lag anymore so I just get irritated. That or I end up playing with a crappy player online instead.

Like, I kind of missed the whole thing when people moved off of spindash mindgames and started feinting with pure run movements lol.

Viet doesn't know how lol. Do you just tech the moment he slams you to the ground?

/ignorant

I had to just lost to Dyno!. I was irritated. I don't sandbag after something like that.
...

Point taken.

Sonic boards, perhaps we should just stop telling people.

I mean, if they want to know how to tech the dthrow, they can just ask. Else, let them figure it out on their own.

We even made a thread about it (actually, Boxob did), but no one paid much attention.
Whatever.

By the way, I actually have a moderately difficult time teching it myself, but that's my own fault for not practicing the timing.

Holy crap Umby posted in the Sonic boards again. Either he got namedropped/he still actually lurks this place.

LOLCakes.

I'll watch these videos when I'm not in school.

Also nothing > Steak. It's a big fat lie.

Edit: Get Tenki to tell you, I'm not sure of myself of how strict the timing is but I know that it has to be done sometime at the end of the throw.

Actually, dNES didnt know about it either.

He only found out yesterday, when him and I were playing some frendlies. Took him I while to catch on too ;-p

It's not too hard to time. >_> Doesnt necessarily need practice.

Tenki you know you can DI pit and diddys fsmash so you land behind them at just about every %... just because you can do something like tech sonics dthrow doesnt make it easy lol. its not like DI out of pikas dsmash which simply involves pressing up.

but it IS easy.

Like, if I'm counting to the rhythm that Sonic's D-throw spindash hits, it's like

[1]-[2]-[3] - (move ends) -[4] <-- is when you'd hit shield.

Seriously, I can tech D-throws online, through lag, because I can just alter the timing on that and it projects itself as a D-throw for so long lol.

Pit/Diddy F-smash DI is more reactive/predictive than that, since you aren't put in grabstate (prep. time) and have less time to react to them than a D-throw.

my point was that most people still DI upwards, because they don't know how to handle it the right way >__>

Perhaps that's how I do it. ANYWHO, I never get hit by Diddy's F-smash lol, it's so obvious. And I don't trip. I spam SD in Diddy matchup.

They throw bananas on your spindashes, not just leave them out there on the floor.

NO U

But seriously, the is true. Diddy is just annoying character. Pick up his bananas, make sure you keep control of them and be better with them, up until the point he stops using them. I stand with my point on F-smash

wow...

have any of you ever teched GaWs down throw?

or spacies down throws in melee?
its just like that. i understand if your timing is bad and you cant get it, but theres really no excuse for not actually knowing when you are supposed to tech.

also, umby, you grab too much, and you dont follow it up enough, and you dont go off stage as much as you should

It's not hard to tech Sonic's Dthrow.

Nice to see Umby posting lol. He's been developing pretty well since I played him apparently. XD He's slower but he picks and chooses his openings better IMO.

I like the duck mindgames umby.

Yeah I'll admit CiTH is right. He's the one and only opponent I've seen ever tech MY dthrow. It would make for a funny video interlude (sonic dthrow>otherSonic downthrow>other sonicdownthrow...).

Umby does like to sandbag, but the match I saw looked legit on his part. Tlink is tuff.

I need to practice teching some stuff. Is there a thread that lists all the techable stuff like sonic's downthrow>pit/diddy's fsmash?

edit:
Oh umby proved that you don't have to abuse use spin specials to be awesome with Sonic. It makes me think of a younger time in Sonic's metagame when Tenki was really pushing for "Stop using the b button so much"
