Sonic in FFA

Hey guys. I notice Sonic has a hard time in 4 player FFA's. Many of the abilities and tricks he can use in 1 on 1 don't work as well, especially on the smaller stages. So I ask, what Sonic techs do you use more in a 4 player FFA with Sonic than a 1 VS 1 battle? We are assuming the matches use NO ITEMS.
