Okay, first, remember this update?

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/modea/modea07.html

And...

There’s a method for powering yourself up as needed to do battle with the Subspace Army—a method that has not been seen before.

I’ll explain this in great detail another time.

I found out what that is. They are called shadow bugs. And the bigger/more powerful the enemy, the more shadow bugs you need to power up with/use.
I assume all of this because of one picture.

So, interesting find or is it cold in here?

Seems like a very interesting find, and though you could be 100% correct on it, we won't know until they either update that, or we play the game. Good find though, I hope this is right :)

As long as we're on this topic, there's also a few things I noticed about SSE simply based off of the videos about it from E 4 All:

- The Trophy Stand was already in those videos. I don't remember exactly where, but the item was used on one of the enemies and a trophy was made, but they didn't pick it up.
- During the Pit/Mario segment, you may recall that they jumped onto a sled like thing which vaulted them to the doorway. This is a nod to a Kirby game, Kirby Super Star, if I'm not mistaken.

Probably old stuff as well, but...

Hmm... but isn't it about powering YOURSELF up and not the Primid? Never understood what people were trying to get out of this.

I mean, they could do something like Odin Sphere did. Once you'd kill an enemy, Phozons, or in this case, Shadow Bugs could leak out, and you could absorb them for a final smash?

I thought the Shadow Bugs were the small purple orbs used to transport primids.

Nice find, I thought the shadow bugs were referring to the Primid's purple fog, not as a means to power up!

Ummmm...shadowbugs are the things that make up a primid, I believe. Like whenever the Halberd flies over something and drops all of those purple "dots", those are shadow bugs. The bigger the primid, the more shadowbugs are needed to make it. Shadowbugs power up the Subspace Army not you...at least I don't think so.

''Does that mean it takes more Shadow Bugs to move bigger Primids?''

When you play Smash, you don't use something to MOVE your opponent, you use attacks or items, so it's clear to me that the Shadow Bugs are the little purple things that come out of the Halberd

Those gauntlets may be on every character. They may be used to show what level the enemy is at. Kind of like karate. White: Just started smashing(online), Yellow: beginner, Then what ever color is next: veteran fighter, then the next: experienced fighter, then black: experienced veteran fighter. Idk. Its just an assumption.:ohwell:

I can see a way this could be true, somthing like you take over the Halberd and find these things that enhance your abilities, similar to MP3, and just like that if you use it too long you will become evil ohhhh ahhhh

Not really possible, they are simply a smaller way to bring out primid

TheJalepaneno: I made a topic about the same thing and it had led to a picture of Fox wearing gauntlets

Looked moreso like the material in the sleeve extending as fox runs (if thats what your referring to with that picture). I mean there is alot more attention to detail in this game. Take Zamus' suit for example. When she bends, he suit creases ( a really really cool addition to the smash graphics, this made me really pleased, the details in it are great!)

i'm sure there are other examples of this around the dojo.

Actually I was refering to what someone posted about using an element similar Metroid Prime 3 where you have a thing that makes you super powerful but, but if you use it too long it makes you evil.

You misread. Primids are composed of shadow bugs, and Big Primids have more because they're bigger. That's it. We still don't know what Sakurai was talking about with the powering up, but in the playable videos there's no sign of collecting shadow bugs as exp or anything either. I don't think there's any connection here at all.

It's probably not actually about leveling up if it's a platformer. I'd guess it's more like Sonic's rings than exp, just gives bonuses as you collect more throughout the stage. The style of play looks like a remix on old fashioned platforms than an RPG. Then again, I'm no prophet.
