I'm thinking of getting a Hori controller and one of those new Raphnet adapters that support Hori controllers.

Where can I buy a good Hori controller?

Ebay is pretty much the way too go.
Well worth it tho.
You can always resell it if you don't like it.
Takes some getting used to the button spacing and the different control stick.

Speaking of which, I just got my Hori. Can someone give me a general idea of settings for the analog stick so that it matches console?

Thanks. Should I be trying to get the lowest stick range with which the Yoshi stick test works, then? Or should it be higher?

Star King, did you get yours from ebay? How much did you end up paying for it?
It doesn't look like its that much different from a gamecube controller, except that you can play it on console.

Good question, I think so. Not sure if yoshi can even jump much further.
But I'm really not too sure on this one.

@mint
It looks like the gamecube stick, but it plays differently, plus like you said, it works on console.
Because I use the same pad for console and online I'm getting more and more consistent at both.

Yoshi can't jump further. It's just that maybe a stick range that can barely accomplish that is close to console, but it could also be, like, 5 more or something.

$157 for a brand new "ocean blue" hori controller?

I'm debating on whether I should get it or not. I like the color and I think it being new means the stick should be at its prime. BUT, $157 is a bit pricey.

@glowworm I got a hori pad last week on ebay for about $50 and it was used but the stick was still perfect. I don't expect much, if any, decay in the stick

I got mine used and it got f'd up pretty quick, IDK how. Fynal's used one went to hell pretty quick also, but the one Miyagi got is still perfect. Go figure.

how long a controller lasts depends on the player as well though.

DI, pivots and things of the such can be done differently / with more force...varying from person to person.

It takes me about a year to destroy a PS3 analog stick.

The dude from Osaka that I bought it from was selling a bunch for 60$, and the stick for mine is in pretty good condition as far as a keyboard noob can tell.

Nice! Getting the clear PINK one :awesome:.
But waiting 'till probably January (BECAUSE I GOTTA BUY A TICKET TO APEX FIRST).
Not that I'm going to use it- just collecting.

This.

I can do crazy stuff perfectly on a joy stick that is barely attached. It takes a LOT for me to want to change- but I also hold the controller like a T-Rex so...

Hmm, I looked at the plot of that on wikipedia and it confuses me, doesn't getting a TV show already achieve their goal of being famous?

You talking about Apex? There's this guy who is housing at the Rutgers university dorms for FREE (or cheap). I'm currently housing with him

If you aren't talking about Apex, then IDK.
