An inanimate object acting strangely is bound to cause fear. It's like the fear of the unknown, because you don't know what is causing it.

It's funny, he says that he could make Smash competitive by making it faster or making kid friendly for everyone by slowing it down. But we already have those : Melee for hyper-competitive Smash and Brawl for casuals. Smash 4 is in between.

Anyway, Sakurai ain't a competitive guy anyway, so it doesn't surprise me. Heck, I'm pretty sure he consider Melee as a mistake since he always wanted Smash to be accessible to everyone. Sure, he passed a lot of time on it, but seeing your game turning into a professional fighting game when you wanted it to be accessible can either be taken as an accomplishement or a major failure.

You know something I love from competitive Smash players? how spoiled many are.

I'm not saying ALL, neither I have a problem with people playing the series that way, but let's admit it, many seem like brats who think only their crowd is to be pleased imposing their play style to others and mocking casuals.

I've been there before. Interestingly although I never encountered one thankfully, when I was young the demons in my dreams were often robbers or sexual predators. I was a pretty aware and paranoid kid...

Official illustrations also tend to include fanservice for those series that don't have it...

Sadly that includes Madoka:

A lot of the Sakurai interviews are grabs_popcorn.gif bait but the mods really cracked down with those.

...Shame, I loved my Indy popcorn .gif :sadsheep:

Well, when he says things like "this might be the last Smash" I cringe because he should know that's not up to him and Nintendo holds all creative rights. For their biggest seller next to Mario Kart and Pokemon, they'd obviously continue with or without his blessing.

I think you misinterpreted that. He meant that it's his last Smash game that he will develop.

This is honestly getting stupid how they an have a tantrum eveytime Sakurai says something that they misinterpret and it always seems to happen in the new section

This is a man who has a lot of respect for the opinions of others right there. :troll:

In all seriousness, it's only Sakurai's opinion. He's not a competitive player, that's for sure. He tries to satisfy everyone though, but he's right on one point : there's more competitive games than Smash. Look at Street Fighter for example : there's a lot to learn and the skill gap is important. In Smash, appart in big competitive scene, if you play normally, with items and stuff, anybody can win. But apparently, since Melee came out and became popular, Smash "needs" to be competitive.
So yeah, Sakurai has at least one point right. In my own opinion of course.
