There was some kind of ghost, and while I didn't see a physical form, it filled me with terror

With nothing else to do, I just started screaming at it at the top of my lungs

It muted me

But defiantly I just kept on screaming at it and eventually I broke THROUGH being mute and defeated the ghost

...I defeat monsters in dreams by screaming at them defiantly...

Who needs a chart when you and a friend have a hyper imagination that we use to make up tons of role play ideas and personalities for our characters

Of course, that's the main element to create a personality and a character alone. I'm creating my stuff alone, so having this helps to create characters.
I already have some ideas for the personality of two of my main characters, but I need to create them entirely. "Imagination is nothing without doing." like Chaplin says.

I haven't seen any fanservicy anime, but one of the Madoka spin offs has a ton of unneeded fanservice that adds nothing to the story. You're definitely not alone.
