Do you agree with their quick analysis on Sonic?
i have to say they were accurate on somethings but one issue that bothered me was when they were talking about Sonic' gameplay behavior.

I cannot remember exactly what was said (my memory is poor) but it mentioned Anther's Sonic and how he was predicted and then punished and lost because of it.

That really is not such a good example because that seems to rely on predictable behavior on the users part and doesn't necessarily say anything about Sonic's capabilities.
He does have bad situations (getting land camped) but I have to disagree but what they say about him having a lack of options.

Sonic does indeed have alot of options when it comes to approaching an opponent but the issue is that none of his options are abusable or capable of being used reliably.


Moving on from the Sonic part, did anyone agree with either side concerning the debate on MK?

It seems like they still don't fully understand Sonic's potential.

I mentioned it a while ago, but I still want to see someone who's able to create a near-perfect merger of spin cancel playstyle and excellent gameplay (reading, punishing, matchup knowledge, stage knowledge, and "A-move" game).

There are some scattered vids here and there of Sonics who are either far in one direction and lacking in the other, or are balanced but not quite 'amazing'.

I'm sure that the Sonic board regulars see Sonic's moveset for much of what it's worth, but outsiders who haven't played against 'seasoned' Sonic mains probably don't see the same things we do. Perfect example was that suppertime person, who said that we spend most of our time in SDR. Another person I played against was hesitant to play a Sonic main because he thought it was all "run away and stall", whereas I was aggressively going in and out of his attack range, and it totally got him off-guard.

It's not that bad. In actual gameplay, people underestimating you is a good thing.

In theorycraft, well, go ahead and tell them how much Sonic sucks.

Why is it 'sad' that people underestimate your main? Who cares?

People underestimate Ganondorf, Falcon, Pit, Samus, and Link mains all the time, but they can all kick butt when they're skilled players. It's not like people underestimating Sonic is any different.

OH i beat kdjs MK a few times. me and him have the most disgusting matches when i'm sonic. he really doesn't know anything about him other than the things ive told him or done to him in a match, so hes kind of winging it. its like pure skill at it's finest.

he never does anything he supposed to though. its insane.
