About a month ago, my Wii began to have difficulty reading the brawl disc, bringing me to a "the wii could not read this game" screen within 5 seconds of entering the css. I remember reading somewhere that worn-out lasers have difficulty reading dual-layered disks, like Brawl, so I'm assuming that's the cause.

What I'm trying to do now is figure out how I'm going to fix it. I could:

A) Use a USB loader. Would require re-installing Homebrew, which I'm guessing would be a pain to do on an updated Wii.
B) Send it in to Nintendo. This part makes me a bit iffy, which is why I made this thread. I used to have Homebrew on it, but I deleted the channel in case I ever had to send it in to Nintendo. I'm not sure if they'll still be able to detect traces of it, so I'm worried that they'll void my warranty if I send it in. If simply deleting the channel isn't enough, what else must I do?

I appreciate any advice people can give me.

Try to find a place locally where they repair it. Some sort of Play N Trade or whatever would work. (If you decide not to go with A)

For A)
MLG says it'd be a no-no to discuss this kind of stuff :(
B) I wouldn't send it to ninten-doh.

Yeah, I know we can't talk about it. Still felt it would be good to list all the options running through my mind.

Yeah, due to legal reasons (piracy), we can't discuss this sort of stuff
