so is there any reason why olimar has more than 4 pikmin in the iso version on Dolphin?

It's Dolphin and nothing else. Unless the PMBR care to go through something to make it work properly with Dolphin, it won't be fixed.

It sucks, but that's the way it is.

I've made ISO's with custom content that only allow 4 pikmin. There have been no modifications to Olimar and it works on unmodified stages with default music too. My ISO has custom stages and music over all of the non tournament viable stages along with menu and text edits and a single costume on Fox but that's it. I'm not sure why Olimar is broken currently but I imagine he will work in 3.5 just by virtue of it being a different standard ISO.
