Smashers and Their MTG Colors

Hi everyone! Haven't posted on here in awhile, have been taking a break from melee and only just started watching streams again recently. Hope everybody is doing good.

So just out of curiosity I was thinking about how one of my favorite games, Magic the Gathering matched up with the playstyles of some of Melee's better players. In other words, what MTG colors are most closely associated with a smasher's playstyle. And if you want to, feel free to weigh in on what you think your own colors are. Don't be afraid, it'll be fun (hopefully... maybe?)


For example, someone might consider Mango to be mono-red since he has an aggressive, impulsive, don't look back playstyle but someone might point to his playstyle to be more blue-red because he also has a manipulative playstyle and is great at reading people. Obviously I dont think any player is going to be clear cut and there's the viable argument that every player is all five colors but this is more about which colors are the most prominent in their playstyle

Anyways, if anybody has any thoughts on other players colors I'd love to hear them. Most players probably aren't going to be mono-colored but try to keep it to 2 colors.

White: Orderly, Precise, Defensive, Efficent
Blue: Manipulative, Calculating, Adaptative, Methodical
Black: Sacrificial, Do anything to win, Ambitious, Unashamed
Red: Aggressive, Impulsive, No Regrets, Explosive
Green: Ferocious, Relies on Brute Force, Heavy-Hitter, Brutal

I always rolled blue/green decks back when I had cards (I got ripped off, what is it with people and stealing TCG stuff?).

Anyway, when I actually give a **** about playing to win I'll be very bluegreen, most of the time I'll just go full red and say **** everything for fun. I'd rather the person playin me said "damn I got bucked in the futt" rather than "Man I got cheesed".

I'm actually very curious to see how these colors would be applied to teams play.

Hmm this is a tough question. I main Doc and I tend to have a more defensive/reactive playstyle which suggests my style is White. Unfortunately it usually takes a great deal of concentration to be consistently patient and precise with Doc, when I'm not patient I tend to go all out and take bad trades. I also tend to crouch cancel like no tomorrow (sacrificial behaviour?) and have no shame pilling for days if I need to collect my thoughts and get in my opponents head, so I suppose Black/White would be more accurate. Mono Black or Red when I'm burnt out. Oddly enough I just built my first Black/White deck a few days ago, although the main colours I tend to play are Green and Black.
