The first major of the year, Genesis 4, is drawing closer. Next weekend, gods will rise; titans will fall.
Unlike many events, Genesis 4 is set to be the complete Smash experience. Nearly every active notable will be competing in hopes of attaining the coveted Genesis title.
On that note, we here at Smashboards polled our staff as to who they think would win. Without further ado, check out our key takeaways and the raw results below.
Key Takeaways
Melee:
- 5 out of the 6 staff members who submitted their Melee predictions believe that Adam "Armada" Lindgren will win the tournament and add a third Genesis to his portfolio of results.
- All staff members who submitted their Melee predictions had Mango and Armada in Grand Finals. If this were to happen, it would be the fourth Genesis Grand Finals between the two.
-Leffen, Mew2King and HungryBox both consistently placed Third to Seventh.
-Plup placed 5 out of 6 staff members' lists. Axe, Shroomed, and WestBallz all placed two times.
Wii U:
- The 6 staff members who submitted their Wii U predictions were evenly split between Leonardo "MKLeo" Perez and Gonzalo "ZeRo" Barrios taking the tournament.
- Despite this, MKLeo had a higher average placing of 1.67 compared to ZeRo's 2.16.
- All predictions have MKLeo or ZeRo in the finals
- MKLeo, Larry Lurr, and ZeRo were placed on six lists. Anti and Ally were placed on five. Void and Mr. R were placed on four. Dabuz and Nairo were placed on three. Abadango was placed on two with Komorikiri and Salem on one.
